DOCTOR DOOM!!!
I might be a dork but I like Gate Keeper, that would be a cool name for a place like Cedar Point. Build something bad a** and call it Gate Keeper. Then who is the Keymaster? Raptor is the Keymaster and Mantis is Zuul!
DarienLaker
^ Hmmm "Zool" would be a good name for the Wing Rider!
SFOGdude25
Has anyone seen this yet? from Screamscape. 2013 - Wing Coaster - Semi-Confirmed - (7/25/12) The latest buzz from The Point seems to indicate that Sandusky could become home to a cousin of Canada’s Leviathan. I can only hope that this dragon will also demand his own cave lair and other fun environmental stuff to fly through. The dragon rumor has also been confirmed by our friends at CoasterFusion as well as some comments on the possible color of the coaster track being green… but with the sighting of the blue wing image on DT being so similar to the colors used on Leviathan, I’m hoping for another blue / cyan combo paint job myself. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something with a similar nomenclature. Leviathan was a sea monster and also the gatekeeper of hell. Based on the position of the proposed ride, they could probably incorporate the theming as a sea monster (as it's essentially adjacent to the lake), as well as bringing the idea of the park entrance flyover into it. I'd think that it'd be smart to call it Leviathan, and use the same logo. Then they wouldn't have to apply for a trademark for a new name (DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer, so take that with a pile of salt). Maybe I'm totally off here, but it's plausible (but Half Life 3 coming out tomorrow is also plausible )
coasterfreak101
Works for me! I do love the Leviathan (a/k/a current Cedar Fair) color scheme, so throwing it next to a lake and over the entrance to a park sounds good.
_koppen
I'm also in love with the Leviathan name and colors, it would be very approved of by me if it were true
brock_boehm
I think using Leviathan is a good idea I guess. Not usually a fan of parks using the same names over and over again for rides, which in this case would only be two coasters. I love originality. But I do love the name Leviathan and would love to see the blues used in the poster used on the coaster. I'm sure it would be very beautiful. brock_boehm
In my opinion, Leviathan is one of the better coaster names.

DarienLaker
^ Let me guess Cedar Point's Wing Rider is going to named "Shipwreck Monster of Lake Erie"?
KDcoasterMAN
Even though Leviathan is a great name and theme, I would prefer an original name. But of course this is Cedar Fair we are talking about.....
Wes
Does Cedar Point have any major rides with recycled names though? All I can think of is Windseeker.

coasterdude2011
In all seriousness, Cedar Point and Cedar Fair hardly recycle names. The only name I can think of off the top of my head is Thunderhawk, Dominator, Flight Deck, Boomerang, and Planet and Camp Snoopy rides. Cedar Fair has not recycled names for brand new attractions lately and I don't think they will start any time soon. If anything Six Flags is the name recycler with at least 4 recycled names for 2012 rides including X-Flight, Superman Ultimate Flight, Apocalypse and Deja Vu. Windseeker, but that was a more intentional move. Cp is always 1st when it comes to coasters, in the Cedar Fair Chain. So it's going to be the King(tallest, fastest etc.) of whatever type of coaster it's supposed to be.
DBru
My only problem with them reusing Leviathan is the inconvenience it will cause us. Typing Leviathan (CP) and Leviathan (CW) would be such a hassle. ( )
SFOGdude25
Looks like it probably won't be named Leviathan. Screamscape 2013 - Wing Coaster - Semi-Confirmed - (7/26/12) Some interesting digging about another possible name for the 2013 Cedar Point coaster has come from CoasterFusion this week. They believe it could be named Lotan, named after a mythical 7-headed sea serpent / dragon beast that is the representation of floods, oceans and winter. I REALLY like this.
