During WCB while we were sitting on the break run for YOLOcoaster it broke. The train being launched misfired and didn't even make it past the magnets. We got stuck on the turnaround before the station. It took at least ten minutes for the train to return to the station. When they finally got it to launch properly, our train had to be pushed back into the station because the drive wheel couldn't bring us in from a full stop.

That's weird. Aren't they supposed to be able to do it? I feel it's almost like a chain lift that can't get going again if they train stops for some reason (with the exception that, in that case, no one would be able to push the train).

Weirdest breakdown that I can remember would have to be at CGA riding the Flying Eagles. We all get in and get into our birds, (TPR takeover by the way). The ride starts out like normal, my friend starts to snap and 10 seconds later the ride shut itself down without the ride-op even touching the E-Stop button. I thought it was both really cool and weird as i've never seen it do that before.

I was an inverted boomerang and we got stuck on the second pike. It was just scary lying down in the air for 30 minutes or so.

Dude, I never knew it was possible to become a Giant Inverted Boomerang! If you know where I can sign up I will pay whatever fee it is to become a roller coaster!

Strangest break down for me, was on the Dulcimer Splash at the now gone Opryland. The ride was running fine when they loaded me in the boat ( by myself, it was fall evening ) The boat traveled up the lift hill just fine. I got to the top and could see another boat just ahead, they seemed to be going slower than normal. My boat crested and went in the water, but hit the bottom of the run ( which never happened ). I could hear the wheels dragging and I was hardly moving. After the first turn the boat grind to a slow stop. Along with the boats I could see up in front and the one behind me now. Water was still moving though the chute but it was getting shallow. Next thing I know someone comes over a speaker saying please remain seated, an attendant will be with you shortly.

About 15 mins later the attendant came walking though the chute escorting boat after boat of people. He came to my car and had me climb out the back, then walk down the center of the chute and over the boat behind me. He explained that the water pump had went out and that is why there was no water on the ride now. He walked me down the lift hill, then he went back up to rescue more people from the dried out ride.

Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom. We got stuck before the drop with those stupid crows saying the same friggin' thing over and over and over again. For twenty minutes.

I got stuck in the same spot, right under the vultures for about 15 minutes once. Pretty annoying.

The only other breakdown I've had was on Iron Wolf back in 1996 (I think). Got stuck at the top of the lift hill for about 45 minutes. Pretty uncomfortable being stuck on a stand up for that long.

Mine was a Tower B Miscatch on Déjà Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We were sitting in the back car and the second tower failed to catch us. We rolled back into the loop where the brakes caught us and we were nearly inverted for a couple of minutes, maintenance came, reset the ride and the catch car grabbed us and we concluded our ride. Was nice, because I was expecting to get evaced off the ride.

^Speaking of Deja Vu rides, I was on TPR's China Trip in 2012, which featured a Vekoma GIB at Jin Jhang park. There was a problem with the second tower lift, and the train was sl-o-o-o-o-ly lowered to the evac platform, where we waited for a few minutes. Then we were hauled up the tower and allowed to finish the rest of the ride.

Robb caught it all on video.

Not the weirdest breakdown, but the coolest was on Big Thunder Mountain at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. It was at the top of the highest lift hill. We had to walk down and we got to go under the mountain and see underneath the structure. Pretty fun for a Disney Nerd!

For me it happened this year in April at Holiday Park. I was riding Expedition Geforce in the late afternoon and when the train moved from the brake run to the station there was a small bang, like some king of gun effect during a stunt show. After we got into the station, since there was nobody getting on the train I stayed on waiting for another ride. After a few minutes nothing happened so I started to look around and I saw a guy checking the driving tyres. After a while I saw another guy coming out of the maintenance building carrying a spare tyre so I realized what happened. Apparently one of the driving tyres exploded as the train passed. In the end they got everyone out of the train and closed the ride for the day!

I remembered another interesting breakdown for me. I was at Hersheypark riding the Reese's Challenge shooting dark ride. This was the ride's first season. I don't think it has it now, but there was a small hill right before the station with a gate of targets around it. My car came down the drop and didn't make it over the hill. Before they turned the ride off (which was a longer than they should have), the whole car had maxed their points. It was still the only time I've ever valleyed on a ride, and I believe maintenance came and pushed the car over the hill so it could return to the station.
