robbalvey
Hey everyone! We've decided to make some changes to the TPR calendar so the information displayed will be more usefull to you! For one, we've removed the Birthdays off the calendar. There were just too many of them, and the real information was getting buried. You can still see birthdays listed at the bottom of the index page anyway. We would like to keep the calendar up to date with park information such as: - Organized Club or Website Event Dates (TPR Trips, ACE Con, ECC Trips, etc) - Park Sponsered Event Dates (Holiwood Nights, Knoebel's PPP, Coastermania, etc) - Park Seasonal Special Events (Halloween Horror Nights opening and closing dates, etc) - Any organized TPR meets (TPR parties or any other larger group outings.) - Known Ride opening dates If you know of an event that is NOT on the calendar, please post it to this forum: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 To view the entire month, click on the calendar "image" (the little icon to the left of the word Calendar) or click "calendar" on the menu above. As long as to add the date in the "calendar section" of the posting box it should show up on the calendar! It's as easy as that! Thanks for your help. --Robb
pkdcoaster
What about Park opening/closing days, coaster openings (scheduled) and such? IMO it seems like the calendar would just be really empty now and a waste of space on the page. I thought it was fine as long as the events were above the B-days. But whatever, its your site JEFF
Carnage
What about correcting dates? I just noticed that PCW's closing date is set for Sept 8th, instead of Oct 8th. Looks Joe filed that one wrong.
robbalvey
^ If you see an incorrect date, just let us know! ^^ Jeff, as for an empty calendar, yeah, not too much going on right now, but with the birthdays it ended up being dates for people that might not even post here on a regular basis. I'd rather have slightly off-topic park event dates like "Epcot Food & Wine Festival starts" or "Bonfante's Christmas Lights Begin" as an example rather than birthdays. At least it's more relevant to information some of us might be looking for, especially if we need a theme park getaway for the off season! This week might look a bit "empty" but if you check out all of September: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/calendar.php?start=20060906 Or even October: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/calendar.php?start=20061001 There's quite a bit of information! And yeah, ride opening dates, if know, should be on there too! --Robb

pvcoasterguy
Nice... There were simply way too many birthdays up there.
coasterdude5
Thanks Robb, it had gotten to the point where I just chose not to display the calendar all-together.
Guy T. Koepp
But... what about us special needs kids who can't remember anything. Including birthdays?

pkdcoaster
I would like to retract my earlier statement I really like the new style now. much better than birthdays. It is also encourgaing people to add local stuff (fairs, etc.) Good call Robb JEFF
robbalvey
^ Thanks Jeff. Yeah...I just kind of thought "if it's going to be cluttered with stuff, might as well be stuff people could actually get some usefull information out of!" So please, if you know of a park event, club event, a fair, or anything park related, please add it to the calendar! --Robb "Thanks to everyone for their help!" MSLSM
I really like it now since it seems more professionall. We don't have 1000000000 birthdays of people who never post, and it shows what is going on in the amusement park world. Good Job
robbalvey
Going to un-stick this now. Please continue to add upcoming park events to the calendar! --Robb
robbalvey
Hey everyone! The calendar is looking a bit bare, and I know there's got to be quite a few fall fairs and park events. Please feel free to add events to the calendar! --Robb
robbalvey
I'm bumping this again because the calendar doesn't have much going on in January or February. If you know if any local park events, fairs, etc, please post them! Also, now that parks have started putting up their 2007 schedules, you can help us out by adding the park opening dates! Please do be sure to check the calendar to make sure the event hasn't already been posted: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/calendar.php?start=20070115 --Robb
robbalvey
Thanks to everyone who has posted calendar topics this week. To post a calendar topic, or to see the most recent postings, click here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 Adding events like: - Organized Club or Website Event Dates (TPR Trips, Rideworld Events, ECC Trips, etc) - Park Sponsered Event Dates (Holiwood Nights, Knoebel's PPP, Coastermania, etc) - Park Seasonal Special Events (Halloween Horror Nights opening and closing dates, Food & Wine Festival etc) - Local town or county fairs - Any organized TPR meets (TPR parties or any other larger group outings.) - New Ride opening dates will greatly help TPR! Thanks! --Robb
robbalvey
Time to bump this again since our calendar seems a bit "light" right now. If you know of any park special events, local fairs, or anything significant park related to add to the calenadar, please help out TPR and add them! Here's a hint - go to your local parks "event" page and see if they have anything on there that might be of interest to TPR! Thanks again everyone for your help! --Robb
robbalvey
Time to bump this again! The calendar is looking pretty weak now. If you know of local fairs or holiday events at some of the year round parks, please feel free to post them. Remember, you can post events about parks all over the world! Thanks to the calendar, it can help people plan trips during the off season. --Robb
Vffreak07
I just added the Park at MOAs transformation to Nick Universe for March 08.
