Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

ummm. I bet there huss and gerstlauer. No way they got a Mondial revolution. Its not a Zamprela. Its a gerstlauer

It is a Mondail, it's the only model that matches the specs KD released. Also, the park doesn't have any other Gerstlauer attractions, and parks like to keep the same manufacturer.

Cedar Fair has a trend of bringing similar attractions to each park over the years (Windseeker, Planet Snoopy, etc.). So far, we know CF is pushing water, family areas, and thrill rides for next year. I wonder which will be brought to VF?

With all the additions at CW, WoF, KI, KD, it gives me hope that VF could see an announcement soon, or in September. I got really jealous when I saw Delirium. One of those would be a perfect addition to VF. Also, Skyhawk at CW would also be a great addition to VF. Let's just cross our fingers that we get some sort of a new addition. Whether It be a parking lot, flat ride, or waterpark expansion.

With Kings Dominion and Canada's Wonderland announcing their 2016 additions today, it seems like a few new possibilities for Valleyfair may have opened up. Canada's Wonderland is opening Skyhawk, a thrilling flat ride that looks like a hybrid of a Zamperla Air Race and TMNT Shell Shock at Nick Universe. Looks like a great ride, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing one here.

Kings Dominion announced Delirium, a Mondial Revolution that appears to be similar to the HUSS Giant Frisbees at Cedar Point and Kings Island. I think one of these would look perfect in the amphitheater's spot (curb appeal) in addition to being a lot of fun.

Thoughts?

Correct on Skyhawk being a Gerstlauer. But the Delirium actually is Mondial.

VF doesn't have a set date for a 2016 announcement right now. My guess is that it will either be an out-of-the-blue announcement, or they'll let us know about it the day before since that's how they've done it in the past.

I was never expecting a coaster this year, I'm hoping it comes in 2020, Dave said he wants the Dino's land as a kids area!

I think Dave is screwing with you..or he's on drugs..or your mistaking talking to Dave in your dreams as reality..all 3 very feasible scenerios..

Delirium like KD is adding has moved to the top on my 2016/2017 list! Rode maXair a few years ago and loved it more than most coasters!

I wonder if they would go two years in a row with waterpark additions..how many times do you think the whole, "come out and enjoy the new soak city water park" marketing campaign will work?..

^ A ride like Delirium and Flyers would really round out Valleyfair's flat ride lineup. I've never been on either of them, but they look like a crap ton of fun. And a kids area in Dino's is a dumb idea if he was being serious, that's a perfect spot for our next coaster.

That's exactly what Mild Thing was for. I'm still pissed that they removed that coaster. It was my first coaster.

Okay, I am a week out from my trip up north to valleyfair and mall of America. Since Chickies and Pete's is on the meal plan, I take it that's a sit down? If I go, I might want to bring some extra money for tips. Besides the coasters, the screaming swing and northern lights, and the waterpark, are there any other no-miss rides? Sounds like most coasters run only one train, too.

^ Skippable? I definitely wouldn't call the park skippable. Even if you've been there before, if you're going to make a trip up north I definitely wouldn't skip it. It's still a very fun park with decent coasters and rides. Make sure you hit up Renegade.

I'm not sure where you heard that most coasters run 1 train, because VF runs 2 trains on most of their rides.

Excalibur - 1

Cosmic Coaster - 1

Steel Venom - 1

depends on crowds

High Roller ~ 1 (most common) or 2

Corkscrew ~ 1 (most common) or 2

Renegade ~ 1 or 2 (crap shoot - never know)

Wild Thing - 2 (rare 3)

Mad Mouse (varies)

Yeah I'd say "mostly 1 train" is pretty accurate

I'll agree with most of this but the last 5 times I've been to VF High Roller had Two trains

Well, of my visits this year, Excalibur only has one train on the track, and it doesn't get a line long enough to warrant adding another train. Cosmic Coaster and Steel Venom can only run one train, and I have seen High Roller, Corkscrew, Renegade, and Wild Thing run two trains nearly every single time I've been there.

So, all the coaster that are able to run two trains (Except Excalibur) run two trains the majority of the time.

I will say that they didn't do many two train operations on Corkscrew and High Roller last year, but they have been consistently running two trains this year (From my experience).

I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky?
