dboor129
I can't believe I'm just finding out about this now. I'm a season pass holder and never got an e-mail about this. But I will probably have to old off because of the likely chance of rain as well.
Snowyowl1028
^Yep, I prefer not to ride coasters when it's raining. I've ridden Corkscrew in the rain, and it hurts like heck. Plus, I live more than an hour away from the park, and it would be a waste of my time if the rides are closed. Renegade in the rain is being shot in the face repeatedly for 2 minutes. Hell on earth

I need to send them an email and ask them why. I will post once I find out why. You would think they would want ALL of their season pass holders to be invited. Mdcastle
The wave pool is filling up! I hope they have bigger waves than they did last season. This is never going to be Poseidon's Rage, but they run different patterns on different days. Some days it's small waves all over, some days larger waves, and some days larges waves towards the center only. I've attempted to ask the staff what determines what patterns are run, but they have no idea.

Its more of a training day then a season pass preview, in years past they had an employee preview night so the ride operators could get used to running the rides with people but this year they decided to try this. VF15
I never received an email about the passholder preview day either. Either they only wanted to invite certain passholders to the event (not sure why they'd do that), or Valleyfair has some flaws in its email service. yogibrain
I also have the All Season Dining on mine, do you guys? Perhaps only the dining plan pass holders were invited.

Maybe my email got lost or something. I don't know. But I used the link on here to RSVP, so if all goes well I plan on going.
ACES
This will be my first season pass with the all day dining. When you order a meal do you have to pay cash for the whole meal or does the season pass take care of the cost and pays for it? I'm renewing my pass on Saturday. CaptainUnknown
^The pass should take care of it. If anyone comes out on Sunday, I'll be at Power Tower until 5.
VF15
I also have the All Season Dining on mine, do you guys? Perhaps only the dining plan pass holders were invited. Perhaps they did only invite passholders with All-Season Dining. I don't have it because I hardly ever eat in the park. It looks like there will be a new Minute Maid stand in the waterpark near Barefoot Beach.
valleyfairfanatic
I purchased all season dining and I did not receive an email either. I do know someone who was invited and they have a regular gold pass.
valleyfairfanatic
I was able to test the new slides today. Let me just say they are AMAZING!!! Breakers Plunge was by far my favorite, and don't worry, the slides are smooth. You 'll love it. Tip: when you go on them, plug your nose. ariznglori
You can tell on the webcam the lights on the Ferris wheel are going even in the daylight. Has anyone else heard about some of the opening weekend troubles at the other parks? I think one of the aspects that Valleyfair exceeds at is good operations right off the bat. Having a preview weekend like this bodes well for the official opening weekend.
valleyfairfanatic
The pass holder event helped some of the employees practice in a more relaxed environment. I saw some of you guys today, I wish I could have participated but it was fun practicing!
VFVSGirl16
The passholder preview was great- i just did a quick review on my blog if anyone is interested. Can't wait for opening weekend, the wait is almost over!!

Can't wait for opening weekend, the wait is almost over!! I know! I can not wait for opening weekend! I get to be there at 6:30 A.M. so I should be able to see the rides wake up (Yes, I'm a nerd)! I read your blog post, and it said something about free cotton candy for the preview people (Awesome!), which made me remember reading something a long time ago that they would be offering $.25 cotton candy, did this turn out to be true? I'm not sure where I read it, so I'm curious. Glad you had fun!

Can't wait for opening weekend, the wait is almost over!! Good to hear that you enjoyed the preview day. I'll be at the park on Saturday, and it can't come fast enough. Did you notice any new changes in the park that we weren't already aware of?

Did you notice any new changes in the park that we weren't already aware of? A really random thing I noticed was the Midway Stage now has a little gate for performers to come out, otherwise I didn't notice anything we weren't expecting, but I didn't see all of the park! yogibrain
I was there from noon to 3:30. my kids were bummed that some of their favorite planet snoopy and other rides listed to be open were closed. I know some rides and attractions held specific hours we may have missed. Tried out our dining plan at Chickies and Petes, Northwoods Grill and Planet Snoopy Grill. There was absolutely no wait on everything but it was chilly at times.
