imbordisux
http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/holiblog.html : Good for the soul ...confession, that is. Will just called me from Evansville. He just got off the air following a live interview on WTVW's morning news show. Went well, but he had to tell me something. "I sort of hinted at what's new for next season." Oh, Will! "I couldn't resist; I've signed both contracts, so I went ahead and said we're getting something new for each park." That's it?! Gosh, we've even named both ... things ... and he managed to keep that information in the vault. For spilling the beans, he certainly didn't make much of a mess. But what do you expect from the oldest son of the Queen of Clean? posted by Paula at 7:22 AM

mr_teisco_delrey
Wow. Holiday World is doing great things! They should really rack in some extra crowds in 2007. Especially since so many midwesterners won't be able to afford the gas to get to Disney, let alone the higher Disney ticket prices. Right Beemerboy? Thank goodness i'm only 3 hours away from some decent parks.
jamesdillaman
I just hope they grow smartly and put some of the cash in the bank. The last thing I'd like to see is them explode in growth too quickly and have financial problems. It's so rare to find a good family-owned park anymore, and Holiday world is one of the best. I wouldn't want it to be bought out by anybody. -James Dillaman
J-ELLO
Im going with a 800' intamin wooden GamaCoaster with a 250 mph rocket launch............................AND IS REALIABLE. As for the water park, a slide where you go down an elephants trunk.

okinawaboy11
Hopefully its a new Flat for the theme park. The park is lacking a wee bit in the thrill section besides their awesome coasters.

Well, doesn't it take longer than a year to build a good coaster? I'd say it'll likely be a flat ride of some sort. I mean, Cedar Point is already building their new for 2007 coaster, so I can only assume it takes a while...

Right Beemerboy? Thank goodness i'm only 3 hours away from some decent parks. I love you too, sweetheart. I saw your comments in the 2007 Disney packages thread. I couldn't agree with you more. In addition to gas, lets not for mortage rates, and wee bit of inflation. I think it will be a flat ride for Thanksgiving. Time to fill out the new area. To jamesdillaman - I'm sure there is plenty of cash in the bank. It's not like they're doing a multi billion dollar buyout. These folks do business the old fashioned way. They aren't afraid to put their own elbow grease into the mix, and they aren't greedy. Going to HW Thurs. TR with a sick twist to follow.

Canobie Fan
Flat ride - The replacement tilt-a-whril... And the water ride - A big dumb "Bahari" waterfort thing...
jamesdillaman
I'm thinking a new flat for the thanksgiving section, which is needed, as there are only 2 rides there, also a new water ride in the back by the 2 bahari attractions, as they are also not near anything else really in the waterpark. I'm not really into wondering what flat it may be, as it might even be a relocated tilt-a-whirl from elsewhere in the park that they were talking about doing this year even, but I'm interested in what might go in the waterpark. They have no body slides (I believe?) and maybe a nice slide tower like the one at geauga lake would be a great addition to the back of the park. Another thing that would add to the waterpark is either a master-blaster or a rapids ride, combination river and waterslide, like the ones found at The Beach in Cincinnati, Schlitterbahn in San Antonio, and others. I'm not too familiar with the terrain, but if they build it uphill like the voyage, that'd be perfect for the rapids tube ride, as they are normally built into hillsides. Whatever it is, it will be a well-thought out addition to one of my all-time favorite waterparks, that's for sure. -James Dillaman
SharkTums
I'm pretty sure their waterpark doesn't even have any body slides? I'd love a big tall complex of body slides!
cgodsey
Will has actually gone on record in the past by saying that body slides don't represent the family image the waterpark is going for (i.e. the family enjoying the attractions together). Things might have changed but I bet it won't be body slides. As for the rides side, there is some great space across from the Plymouth Rock Cafe that is screaming for a flat ride. How about a Mayflower themed Rockin' Tug??? The area could also use another attraction to help keep families in that area of the park.
SharkTums
I totally disagree with body slides not being for families. At the Disney Waterparks and others I've been to (Adventure Island) you're allowed to go down the slides a parent and a child together. I'm not talking about the insane death slides that go straight down, or have helixes of death, I'm talking about the ones that are about 30 - 40feet tall and have mainly twists and gentle drops. Cheapalcohol
I could really see a Chance Swinging Ship ride going into the Thanksgiving section, but it may be a little weird since the Voyage is themed to the Mayflower (I believe?), so two ships in one section may be strange. But it would definitely fit! As for Splashin' Safari, I've been day dreaming of them putting in a Master Blaster type slide, but I doubt they will do that. --Josh
USRoadTripper
My money's on a Dumbo-type ride with turkeys on it. There is a place just large enough for it next to Gobbler Getaway. -Julie
DerekRx
The park needs a carousel, badly! Theme it to turkeys and there ya go!
Electerik
^ I'd be more inclined towards a Christmas-themed carousel right inside the front gate. Of course, that might simply be because Pat Koch told me that she wants one there. (No, I'm not special. Holiday World is.)
