Lord Kotowa
Hello, I've had my first theme park trip in a long while now. This time it was to my local theme park Paultons Park! This was to meet up with members of Coaster Force to ride Cobra, the Gerstrauler Bobsled. So my day started at 7am where i watched the news, got fed up with the conflict in Lebanon and how the US are just pushing for more war (this was then, see how its changed ). Anyway i had my breakfast and headed off the train station, got a bus. Arrived at the station 20 mins early for my train. Got on the train, franticly texting Ian (owner of CF) and a ride op from PP about being picked up. Thankfully i got picked up by the ride op, as i was on time, took 50 mins from Portsmouth to Romsey. After 40 mins of waiting around finally another CF member turned up, which was Ian, so we queued up to get in, the others that were coming to meet us were late, so me and ian whored Cobra and Flying Frog, which i bashed my head on the Frog coaster. After faffing at the entrance for a good 40 mins we met with richard, and then the car full of enthusiast turned up, now we can move on, we then headed for Stinger, which is a Tivoli coaster, it roars like a B&M strangely, but its a fun ride, i sat in the front, which gave good leg room, but made me fall out of my seat on the first drop. Then we re-rode it, but this time at the back, because its very quick and gives fast bursts of airtime. Then we moved to Wave Runner, which is a dinghy ride where you ride down triple down down hills. Its a good ride, you get serious amounts of airtime off of it. After this we moved to Jumping Bean, which is a 60ft Moser tower ride, but this may look tame, it is a very good ride. Huge bursts of negative g's. We even tested out penny dropping later in the day! So back over to Cobra to ride that a few more times, that was a fun experience, met another one of my ride op friends . That was embaressing for him. After this we decided to go for lunch at a McDonalds round the corner, which Elissa would approve of, as PP lunch is horribly over priced, even the ride ops prefer to go there. After eating and entering the park again we decided to do the 'ol Raging River which is a Reverchon Log Flume, tis one of the most colourful ones i've ever seen. After this we went to the Astro Glide, which is a 6 lane sack slide, i wrestled with a fellow enthusiast down the slide, was funny, almost jumped in his lane, lol. We then took a stroll through the lovely gardens that are in the middle of the park, tis a nice tranquil area, full of birds all desperatley trying to escape from cold british weather. Then we went into a very random olden days type show room, and one woman looked like she was brapping, which i got a picture of. After walking through this terror, we hit the random flat rides of the area, like Jumping Bean, Pirate Ship, etc. We also played our favourite sweet machine game, basically it costs 50p a go, you get unlimited tries, until you get a sweet. This is a claw game. It was my go and i picked up a tube of sweets and it managed to fall onto the edge of the hole, now i left it, and i picked up some gum and then when it dropped into the hole i wacked the glass where the tube of sweets were and got 2 for 1 After whoreing all the rides on one side of the park we decided to do the same on the other side of the park, mainly to whore Cobra some more. Which we did about 4 times. Tis a good ride, shame about it being deadly silent. Seriously, it can't be heard, even when standing next to it. On the 3rd and 4th ride i took my camera on board for some on-ride photographing, you can take a camera on, as it dosen't say it in the health and safety board. We then said farewells to some of the members, as they headed off home, i went with some of the group to go whore Wave Runner, it was fun as we kept racing on it, around 3 times, i won the first one, oh yeah After riding this i had to say farewell to the group as i was required back at Cobra to meet up with the ride ops that would give me a lift back to the train station. After leaving Paultons went to the pub with the ride ops, where i met more of them and had a good chat, talked about the park and how they so rock. Had a brilliant day, twas a good theme park trip, PP is one of my favourite theme parks, i think 3rd, because its just a fun atmosphere. One last thing, someone tell me what the hell is this ORP all about. As it confused me.

verticalzero
Nice review of Paulton's Park. I went there on the 18th March when "Cobra" opened, it was a very cold day and I ended up looking rather purple skinned (I have bad blood circulation). "Cobra" is a very good ride and has an excellent layout, has the improved on the return hills before the shed..? I sent a letter to Paulton's Park to say how I enjoyed my day and they have chosen a great coaster from Gerstrauler and it's a shame the "council" did not allow the track to go underground as this would of made the ride even better. I advised them "If you are going to add another coaster in the next few years, have a Woodie Coaster like "Falken" as it is only 65ft high but retains all it's speed throughout the ride. http://rcdb.com/qs.htm?quicksearch=falken I got a reply from the Park which said something like " Thank you for your letter, we have taken into account what you have said and hope to improve the park etc etc". I'm glad the Park replied to me as it is nice to have some sort of customer feedback with suggestions. I'll be going back before the end of the season to ride " Cobra" At the end of this month I'm going to "Plopsland" (Star Flyer and Supersplash here I come) in Belgium and "Walibi World" in Holland, Staying at a Centre Parc's for a week. Lord Kotowa
Yes i think that would be a fantastic addition as its below the tree tops. I've heard recently what the park is adding in the coming years, and it won't dissapoint, as the marketing team say "you'll find unique rides in this park" and its true, all their rides are rare to find elsewhere in the UK. Like Kontiki, its a Zierer product. I've credited Paultons many times for having brilliant staff and brilliant rides. Shall have to drop me a line when you come down, as its not too far away from me to go.
