CoasterRollin
Steel: Fahrenheit, Superman: Ride of Steel, Intimidator 305 Wood: El Toro (omfg), and back row of Lightning Racer at night with a train full of TPR members!
The49er
It's a tough decision between the first drops of Goliath and Tatsu. Both have their awesomeness. Props to ToT's big drop as well.

imagenius128
Steel: Diamondback when I get a good ride op who lets me keep my lap thingy really loose I really want to get to KD and ride Intimidator 305 though... that one looks amazing. I love SheiKra's drop too, especially hanging off the edge for a bit. Wood: I don't normally pay that much attention to drops on a woodie for some reason... I can't help but love the way you gain speed going down the second lift hill on The Beast though. It feels so unrestrained and awesome
dylanreich
Not as scary as some other drops, but my favorite is X2's first drop at SFMM. Nothing like being held in by your restraints falling forward with both arms out on a windy day.
slappybob
My favorite drop on any coaster is the first drop on Tennesse Tornado
bottom_feeder_13
Steel: Either Maverick it the back row, X2, or Goliath (SFMM) for the whip, straight down orientation and flat drop straight into the tiny tunnel respectively. Wood: Tremors, straight into and out the gift shop with a nice pop of air in the back seat.
dominoes
Steel: Saw (Not the outside drop. The little indoor one) Wood: Only been on Tonner De Zeus and that is fun as hell! Water: Loggers Leap. Water ride + Airtime =

odene497
Could've sworn I posted in here before but... X2 in the back, with the insane flip at the bottom. Expedition GeForce, in the front actually, I love staring down it. Ravine Flyer II, built up on the hill, overlooking Lake Erie. It's another great twisting drop to look down. swiver
The first time I rode El Toro and Skull Mountain (in 2006) was crazy. Both were in the back row, and I had no idea about what either coaster had to offer. As far as being taken by surprise, those two are definitely in my top first drops. I also love the first drops on Magnum, Maverick, Hades, Manta (I don't think anyone has mentioned Manta yet), and as much as I hate to say it, Millennium Force. Of course all of these would have to be ridden in the back seat for full effect.
PCW_Nut
- Behemoth in the back row. Being pulled over that first drop is incredible. - The Beast going into the helix of death. Just the build up into that turn, especially at night, has always given me goosebumps. - X2: any seat...wow

Bryce232
^ Agreed. Rode it twice yesterday in that row and I was pretty surprised at the airtime I got on the second vertical drop! I personally love Cheetah Hunt's drop from the tower, you get some good floater air on it! And the parabola hill always gets the most screams from the GP
PhantomNick
I may have posted in here before, but since I've ridden some newer coasters I figured it wouldn't hurt to update it: Steel: Intimidator 305, either row of the back car. WOW! Wood: El Toro by a mile, especially in the back car. Triple-WOW!!!
6flagsbrad
Six Flags Magic Mountain's Goliath, Tatsu, and X2. It's the height that gets me every time.

Best first drop: Wood: T-Express Steel: Any Intamin Mega-Lite Best drop other than main drop Wood: Raven's big drop Steel: Riddler's Revenge's drop off the MCBR Best moment of Airtime Wood: T-Express's insane hill Steel: Bizarro (SFNE)'s bunny hills
ECZenith
Griffon's 200' drop, by far is my favorite drop of any ride I've been on. Probably my favorite all time moment on any coaster too.
Mechanic
How many other coasters have a double-down first drop like Jack Rabbit? I've wondered why more coasters don't have that feature as it seems like it would be awesome.
rubysparkles
Intimidator 305's first drop is my favourite. Goliath at SFMM is very memorable, I loved the tunnel and the view of Colossus making it look tiny in comparison.
cal1br3tto
^^I'm curious about double downs in general. For all the talk about them, there don't really seem to be that many around. Coaster Thrill Ride at the Puyallup Fair has a double down first drop, but if I'm remembering it correctly, there is either little or no airtime at that point (it makes up for that later).
