Jon Sabo
He "has" to be innocent, until proven guilty in the court of law. There appears to be a wide majority that feels he is guilty, but there has been no proof/evidence put forth to actually put him into jail or suspend him from the game. But, according to the latest investigation reports, perhaps the government (cough) has found something against Bonds. This was (and still is) the same scenario with Lance Armstrong and why that conversation was brought up earlier (and on radio shows). Lance has been tested more than most people can count (sarcasm) and he is STILL tested to this very day. He has yet have provided a positive test result. The French are really trying to pin him with a positive result and each time it ends up in court and they loose the battle. And a similar situation with Barry Bonds. There has yet to be any damning evidence that he has yielded a positive test result. Even though the 'assumption' is he did take steroids. Another person we could add towards the discussion (and I believe testified before Congress) is Rafael Palmero. Now, he was found positive in a test result. What does that do to his credibility now? goleafsgo
sorry, i was kinda wrong there: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/12/03/MNGGFA0UDU65.DTL hey DID take steroids, but apparently, he took them without knowing. But he did definately take performance enhancing drugs... the question of weather or not he took them knowingly(sp?) is yet to be answered. ParkTrips
.. and if you're thinking about the testimony leak in December of 2004, that was never proven to be true (or false, for that matter, as far as I know)

crispy
Ahh, I love it the question is, would anyone believe me if I said Bonds is actually a nice guy???? He is an asshole to the media, and in response he gets dumped on as a bad seed Jeff Kent and Barry Bonds were not friends, but they did have respect for one another, and kept thier diffrences behind closed doors As for the Steriod thing, I find it very intresting that Bonds is the sole focus of the media, and not all the other players like Mcguire and Palmaro. It is not a black and white thing, its more of a media bias against Bonds The fact remains he was an AWESOME plyer, and no one can dispute that, if he "jucied up" it has only been in the last few years, and his career before that was spectacular He would have easily ended his career with well over 500 home runs and 500 stolen bases, a feat that no one in history has ever done, he has been amazing consistant Compare that to the Medai darling Mcguire, who obviously has been "juicing" for much longer than Bonds The point is that if Bonds gets his records taken away, then so does alot, and I mean ALOT of great ball players. Jon Sabo
Today's update article: SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Federal prosecutors obtained Barry Bonds' medical files as part of their investigation into whether the slugger perjured himself when he said he never knowingly used steroids, a newspaper reported Saturday.
