DBru
Ah, I'll be at SFMM the 26th and 27th! So close! I'm just going to pray for a soft opening of LL:DoD and Superman. If worse comes to worst, I'll ride the Sky Tower and pretend like I'm dropping really, really fast...
RAWKIN_coaster38
Everything is now a Frog Hopper compared to this. Can't wait to ride it, over and over. Best post! The more this goes up, the more I'm convinced I need to make it down to SFMM this year.

CoasterLover
The listed date (most likely) is the Grand Opening date. Pretty much every new Six Flags ride this year has had a Season Passholder preview day (or two) in the days leading up to the grand opening. Not guaranteeing this will be the case, but it's certainly possible...
clippers6
I'm not sure how accurate the park map I got this weekend is (it says Lex Luthor will open in spring on the cover), but the paintball gallery is still listed under the games section and shop at the exit is listed as The Daily Planet Gift Shop (the description says it will have "basic necessities and an ATM for your convenience). Also listed as new is a chicken restaurant across from Apocalypse and a food location called Dogs and Snack in the What the Fried? area.
Ace Of Spades
Dogs and Snack I know it's only a restaurant, but even still, you've just gotta love that creative naming. Extra points for improper tense! On-topic: Can't wait for some testing footage of LL:DOD. I know it's gonna do exactly what it says on the box (...drop and slow down) but it'll be really cool to see it in motion regardless! Sir Clinksalot
Here's the scoop on "What the Fried" from our update on Friday: What the Fried?: No REALLY ... WHAT THE FRIED!?!?! If you've been following In The Parks for awhile, you'll know about the saga of the old Johnny Rockets "Shakes and Fries" stand. Well, the saga continues this week. If you'll recall, on our last update the What the Fried sign was gone. We are happy to announce the sign is back. What's odd though, is that there is another sign on the other entrance that is for "Loaded Dogs". [imghttp://www.miceshots.com/usr/65/IMG9937-L.jpg][/img] And even more odd is the sign out front when approaching the eatery from the front entrance (you know, the one everybody is likely to see first) still says "Shakes and Fries" even though the location doesn't sell Shakes and Fries. Let's hope the identity crisis for this location is resolved soon, and that we actually find it open. We are excited to try a Mango Dole Whip one of these days. I'm going to be heading over later today after the PGA golf is over (& Tiger wins) and perhaps then some sweet parking will be available in first lot as peeps from SFHH should be leaving about then. Then heading into SFMM and perhaps eat the left side of the menu ... going to be a great day.
Fire2box
The western or LA dog looks good, and I never had a deep fried snickers bar yet. Right now I plan on going to SFMM to finally use my VIP passes a week or two after the tower drop opens. Talked it over with SF before and they said it's fine if I split them 2 each among me and a friend. Now that I can finally drive (permit, for now.) me and him can take turns driving down I-5 to the park which isn't hard at all. Practically a straight, boring highway. Mechanic
Does a learner's permit allow you to drive on the freeway? It didn't back when I had mine, but that was LONG time ago. Nevermind, it's MOTORCYCLE permit that doesn't allow you to go on the freeway. See? I told you I was old. I forget nearly everything these days. Have a safe trip. cfc
Hmm--interesting that Dole Whip is no longer the "exclusive" treat of Disney. Or have other parks been serving it for years, too? I've only seen it at Disneyland and WDW. EDIT: Did a little googling. It seems that they serve Dole Whip and the Dole Plantation on Hawaii (makes sense), Lapperts Ice Cream Shops in California, and Mr. B's Ice Cream and Food in Latrobe, Pa. MrSum1_55
^Interesting...one of the staff members at SFMM was bragging that only five locations sold dole whip, SFMM being one of the five. I guess he meant one of the five outside Disney parks.
clippers6
Lapperts Ice Cream Shops in California Also at Lappert's in Las Vegas which is located inside the California Hotel & Casino, which has a Hawaiian theme. I had a crazy ride on Green Lantern over the weekend. My friend and I got put on the same ride vehicle as two tiny girls that were there for grad night with their middle school (I actually found it odd how many middle schools were there, I didn't think middle schools did grad nights) so needless to say our weight differential was pretty big. We pretty much spun through the whole ride. I don't think I've ever seen anyone spin on that first section of the track that just has a little dip, but we managed to do it. Then the ride broke down just as we got into the station and the vehicle was unable to get upright so we hung at this angle where all the weight was on our man parts waiting for the mechanic to show up. People in the loading area were actually yelling at the ride ops to help us out since we were obviously in extreme pain, but of course there's nothing they could do. The thing i'm concerned about is we'll be taking turns driving to catch some sleep and if it would be legal for him to sleep. Doubt it would be. I know we can both get money for staying at motel's in the area but he delivers papers every morning so he has to find a person to fill in for him. So he'd want to get back home ASAP and with us being at MM for two days, ugh. I assume we could leave Thursday afternoon, catch some sleep at a rest area then head to the park friday morning. On the way back catch some sleep at a rest stop after staturday and drive back and get back sunday morning/early afternoon.
