The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

I meant in organizing a group of us to go to the media day event. lol. It would be really cool if they were able to get the TPR forums invited.

Typically SFMM has their Media/Online days on the same day. They will sometimes invite some of the networks out a day earlier, or earlier than the rest of us to get on their morning shows.

As far as getting a group of people in the media event, SFMM typically works with the Boys and Girls Club and all of those kids are the "riders" for media day.

Things are always subject to change, but off the top of my head I'm thinking any kind of "meet" on media day is going to be difficult.

Also, who knows when Media day is even going to be. With RRE, S:EFK and GL:FF I'm going to say we had less than a weeks notice. In fact, with RRE, I think we had a day. And it was more "come to our opening ceremony".

I just bought tickets for this Saturday, June 2nd, for Deaf Awareness day at the park. Do you think it would be terribly busy or just medium crowds??

I hadn't heard anything about this.

Was that pun intended?

Aww man I'm cracking up.

They need to advertise these events more though, I didn't know about this either.

That's pure gold right there.

Just got back from the park.. everything was running 2 trains and X2 opened on time. Didn't have to wait more than 45 min. for anything, including a second ride on X2. Yet the parking lot was completely full and the dirt lot was about 1/4 of the way full!

It wasn't my video! Can someone tell me what "Full Throttle" is?

Good to know. I was never operating under the assumption that it was though. And "Full throttle", in addition to being a popular energy drink, is when the accellerator pedal is pushed fully to the floor. The name would make sense for a launched coaster that gave the impression of a powered vehicle accellerating at "full throttle". Think of Top Thrill Dragster, or Xcelerator, for similar references to launched coasters that make the name seem likely for a launched coaster. The fact that it's also the name of an energy drink makes for a pretty decent promotional tie-in.

There are about 35 'Full Throttle' products out there. Pretty sure the phrase must not be able to be trademarked and that will just help Six Flags grab it and market it their way while people assume it refers to their favorite Full Throttle product!

Anyone else find it funny that the prominent attraction shown on there is Lex Luther, and yet the coming soon sign is about 1/200th of the pic?

Not to mention, it blends in nicely with the pre-existing green.. I'd also like to take this time to say how amazingly empty the park was yesterday for Memorial Day, I always enjoy getting to ride Apocalypse without lines.

^^ That's actually the same exact flyer my son's school got for his "Grad Day", obviously with a different announcement. My guess is they had designed these a long time ago and had to add in the "Coming Soon" later.

Remember, SFHH was open too. This is the time of year that looking at the lots won't give you a clear indication of how busy SFMM is.
