I wonder if they're also equally proud of their:

- Horrid operations on Tatsu (to be fair, this has been the case since day one)

- Not running Green Lantern the way it's supposed to run

- No more music on Apocalypse and (apparently) X2

- Removal of Sky Tower museum

- Trash not removed nightly

- Upkeep on Bathrooms not being kept upWell, that didn't take long...

...among other things.

Like I posted in the CP thread, this is the perfect thing for SFMM to claim and market because they've really picked *xtreme* coasters as their sole focus.

And the majority of their clientele will LOVE this news and marketing.

Sure its nice that the park ads new thrill rides but they have to focus on keeping up the park. I would rather have them not get a new ride for one year and have them remodel the bathrooms and actually empty their trash cans and have at least one bathroom attendant in the bathroom at all times to ensure that the bathrooms are clean.

Yes, I wish they had done some pressure washing of the rides and loading stations during the off season. The main walkways look okay, but they could probably make a small fortune if they collected the plastic bottles and aluminum cans that are tossed to the sides of the queues and took them to a recycling center. Wherever there's a ceiling--like in the loading stations or the covered walkways leading to the loading stations--you're bound to see cobwebs and lots of dirt.

Even just holding up a broom and whacking down the cobwebs that way would make a big difference. It's depressing to ride the carousel and look up to see how the horse is moving up and down and see all the cobwebs up there. I wonder if anything can be done to get rid of all the gum on the ceiling of the tunnel at Jet Stream or the big black crossbeams on the lift hill at Tatsu. It's unfortunate that guests spit out their gum like that, but the park has to clean that up. I'm not trying to sound negative; I just want to see the park looking cleaner because I really do enjoy the rides.

First off, the Batman loading building smelled awful. It was bad enough to make me think I was going to catch a disease going through there.

I noticed that too when I went to the park on Monday. I assumed that it was BO because it was late afternoon and quite hot.

All I can say is if you got it flaunt it! Yea, Magic Mountain... Lex Luther will really put them ahead. I'm in Phoenix for vacation right now and no coasters.

You know it's freaking disgusting when those black crossbeams you're referring to were originally bright orange...

SFMM is like all the reality shows on TV: you know it sucks, but you can't help but visiting. The park blows, but lets face it, we go back to get the credits and ride coasters anyways.

We will always go back to SFMM because of their extreme rides but that doesn't meant that the GP will. If a park has gum all over the place and it smells in most places people will stop visiting the park and go to another park. The biggest issue I found other than the filthiness of the park was the heat while waiting at the top of Riddlers Revenge. It gets over 100 outside and theres a bunch of people all crammed into a small waiting thats enclosed with no air conditioning.

Wow I have always wanted to go to this park partly because it's "Wally World" plus it has X2 but seems like it gets really bad reviews. It's really likely that a turn around could happen in the future. I mean the early 2000's for Great Adventure was horrible and it has definitely made a turn around in the past few years. Hopefully Magic Mountain can do the same one day.

^ I hate to say this, but it seems it depends on who we get stuck with in "key" management positions. From 2007-2010 I actually preferred SFMM to Knotts because there was some care and creativity in terms of the top management. It was a slow transition, but you could actually see it.

The current "people in charge" seem indifferent to small things that make a park great, and have gone back to what I call the "Michael Bay" way of running SFMM. Big, bombastic rollercoasters and thrill rides, while milking any charm and character the park has left. I really wish we could switch staffs with Great Adventure. Instead of the stupid ride rotation crap, how about management rotation until we find the right fit.

What!? You're not going to check out Castles and Coasters?

I'll pass. I'm not interested in credits...

I was mostly kidding, but honestly Desert Storm isn't a bad coaster. Double loop with no over the shoulder restraint, its fun.

^ To be fair, the B:TR station house/inside queue at SFGAdv smelled really rank when I visited there last year too. Possibly just coincidence though.

Not a coincidence, it's a Six Flags thing. They pride themselves on it, apparently.

I also went to SFMM yesterday.

The first parking lot barely filled up, yet Tatsu had people waiting on the stairs each of the three times I checked. From what I could tell from Viper, X2 had people waiting outside of the station.

Apoc was running 2 trains, but only allowing riders on one - this was the case in the morning and afternoon.

Riddlers was pretty much a walk-on.

Batman was a walk-on with re-rides.

Goliath was a walk-on, and there were some seats open for re-riding.

Yeah, Scream/Colossus were closed. From what I could tell from Goliath, they were installing massive electrical boxes in the area where we all started our Goliath tours at WCB in 2011.

Batman's queue did absolutely smell disgusting.

The bathrooms by the M&M emporium (around the corner from the main gate) were putrid - you had to hold your breath because of the smell and the flies - I'm not joking.

Since we planned on getting a big dinner in LA, we didn't want to eat a big meal at SFMM and just wanted a snack. We literally made a circle of the park to find something 'decent', but had no luck. $8 for fries, or $4.25 for a bag of fruit snacks/m&ms.

If any of you have been to the candy stores at Six Flags parks, can you tell me why there are no prices? The employee got offended because I asked for prices. I refused to buy anything because of this.

Sorry to rant, but I was at Disneyland twice last week and just saw so many things that are easily fixed at SFMM.

I should note, however, that the employees were all quite friendly.

That smell seems to be a normal thing there.

MM needs these really bad for Revolution....

I'm practically drooling over that picture!

Fixing up Revolution is probably the number one thing the park could do right now, in term of improvement. That coaster is a gem, and the park needs to realize that!

Didn't they say at the West Coast Bash that the loop on Revolution has such high g-forces the the OTSRs are need to keep the riders upright in the safest position to go through the loop?

I have serious doubts about this claim. Were there ever any cases of injury on Revolution before they installed the OTSRs?

^I also had doubts about this. If this was really the reason, then why not, add a trim brake on the long slope before the loop. They did trim the top, but they could also trim the slope. I wonder if that was one of the purposes of the long slope in the first place; not just to build suspense, but also in case the G pull was too strong, and it needed a trim brake on it.

Though MM's own Coaster Day may have failed, Roller Coaster Day 2012 presented by "freddiew" is sure to be a hit. This may be the only event at MM this year that rivals WCB in terms of number of attendees. If you haven't yet checked out their videos, they are one of the most popular YouTub e channels, putting out awesome FX filled shorts

(PS. If a mod could edit in the video, I gave up. Thanks!)
