I was drooling over the lapbar only trains that were going on a Schwartzkopf coaster Robb was interviewing someone about at IAAPA (Gerstlauer booth I think?). If they allotted the extra insurance money for Revolution and turned off the trims, many people would be pretty happy campers.

I'd like to see a full circuit launch coaster. I gave Superman a chance, I gave Superman renewed a chance, and for a park the scale of Magic Mountian, it stinks as the ONLY launch coaster...

I agree. That's where Cedar Point may have the advantage (3 Intamin launchers). I think if SFMM gets either a Giga or launcher (preferably Intamin), it could possibly become better than CP in its coaster quality.

Hi all, I am new to the theme park enthusiast scene...! After going to Magic Mountain for the first time in the summer I have gotten really into all of this and am going back a second time on Saturday!

I did a lot of searching but couldn't find a recent answer, so please forgive me if this has been asked (recently)...

Does anyone know what the discount on flash passes is for Xtreme pass holders? I got the platinum pass for my first trip (worth it for the occasion, but probably won't get it again), but am planning on getting the Xtreme pass for all of the perks, including this, if I can get the details, as this isn't explained on the MM site.

Thank you guys!

Yeah, those Gerstlauer trains are for sooperdooperLooper over in Hershey. And I don't think anyone would be opposed to seeing them on Revolution...

If I remember correctly the Flash Pass discount wasn't so great. I want to say it was only $10-$15 total off the price. Keep in mind it also won't help you with discounts or parking at other Six Flags parks. JUST SFMM.

^You got lucky or dumb employees.

The parking passes were not park transferable for a long time. Then for a few years they worked at all of the parks. Then a memo went out this year and most of us got denied everywhere for parking again as it was no longer good chain wide.

We tried using our Xtreme Pass from SFMM for parking at SFGAdv in 2010 and all hell broke loose. The parking attendant looked at it like it was a 3rd party post dated check. Then a lead came over, then a manager. After the second manager came over we decided it was probably just worth it to pay the $15 and be done with it. Lucky for us the 2nd manager that got involved gave us a refund for the $15 we paid and the second day we went to the park we had no issue at and were let right into the parking lot without question.

Yeah - last year was the first year that they stopped giving parking to all parks for the season parking holders. Really unfortunate... But I guess for the price of an SF season pass ($60) versus that of a CF Platinum Pass ($160), which gives you admission to all parks like the SF pass but also includes parking and early entry and the like, it makes sense.

This year the chain is offering a Go Park pass, which is chain wide parking for all parks, but it's pretty confusing to try and get it. I don't have it myself. Obviously it isn't being marketed. I guess you have to buy a parking pass for another park, then you add the Go Park pass. I'm not quite sure.

^^^^^^/^^^^^

Really, I have never been impressed with SFGAdv's customer service. I have attempted to visit twice, and made it in the gates once. My first visit, it was raining quite hard, so I called customer service at around 9:30. It literally took an hour just to ask one question to a real person: "Will the park close in weather like this?" I was told that, as long as some coasters can remain open, they would be highly unlikely to close. I arrived at the park at 1:30, and the operator at the ticket window (who, by the way, was instructed to charge full price for parking) said the park would be closing at 2:00! Even though they still had 30 minutes to go, and several rides (including El Toro) were still running, employees were refusing to let anyone in. That really was a terrible first impression, considering I had flown in from California. After visiting some pretty awesome Pennsylvania parks, I decided to try Great Adventure again, to give it another chance.

The second time, it was a sunny day, and I had my SFDK pass ready. The employee scanned it, and it did not scan properly! He proceeded to look at me as if I had handed him a Fuji-Q Highland season pass, and asked me where I bought it. I had to go to customer service have my pass run through their system, so I could be given a ticket stub to make it inside.

I have found that SFMM passes always work fine at SFDK, and vice-versa. (I have owned both) I guess Great Adventure is not very west coast friendly. Actually, that statement could apply to the entire state of New Jersey, so why not have a park that fits the theme of the state?

^I would beg to differ Elissa. I used my extreme pass for parking in Texas, St. Louis, as well as in Georgia several times this year. However, there was no discount for merch or food as well as Flashpass. If you use your Discover card, you get a bigger discount anyway.

Not sure how you got free parking at the St. Louis location, I payed. I stayed close to SFOT, so I walked there. That's the only free parking I've received. Great Adventure in N.J. is very expensive!

Not sure when you were at Great Adventure, but I've paid for every parking visit (since I have a MM pass). It's now $20!

Thanks for the info on this. I'll need to research that option. This season pass parking change has cost me a small fortune this year. I have mentioned to all the park presidents that I've met at events, that a 6 Flags chain parking pass would be great. I certainly would pay the extra cash for that. I've got my 2012 MM pass with parking already, but haven't processed it yet. Thanks.

^Same. I just renewed my xtreme pass as I thought all the perks were the same as previous years.

I find all this info very interesting. I have gotten the extreme pass since it has been offered just because of the parking. They even sold me the upgrade to that pass many years ago because they told me that the parking was good at all the parks chain wide. Except Kentucky Kingdom as the parking is from the fairground people, and not the park. As I travel a lot for work, I like to visit the local amusement park if I have the opportunity. That's why I get the CF pass with the parking add on as well. They have always saved me tons o' cash in the long run. 6F have always said that the in park discounts and coupon book were park exclusive. So that was understood. That's why I get Alana, Jarett, & January's passes at 6FoG. But all this year, I have used my MM xtreme pass to park . In fact, in 8 years I have never had any trouble at any of the parks.

Before I process my MM pass, I'm gonna check with guest services about that chain wide parking option and changing my pass to a regular pass with that option so I don't run into any problems in the future.

Does anyone else know anything about this? A quick Google search didn't turn anything up, so they definitely aren't marketing it. But with how many trips I take to SFGAdv (and the chance I'm headed to SFNE next summer) it'd be nice to have instead of paying $20 every time!

Hey Guy, my job takes me all over the US too, so I ride all over. I too have been to KK (not a problem anymore), and had to pay. I've been to other 6 Flags parks (not my home park) at least 20 days this year. This chain wide parking would be perfect. If you find out anything, please post and I'll do the same.
