Tmcdllr
At the park today there was no audio on X2, and take it for what its worth, but a ride op said they were thinking about getting rid of the audio because it required a lot of maintenence. Also, I noticed dispatch clocks in the stations of X2 and Tatsu, apparently they have 45 seconds to dispatch a train on X2 and a minute and a half on Tatsu. They seemed to be dispatching pretty much on time.
WFChris
^I think the audio on X2 is mega effective.....until you crest the top of the lift hill. Maybe they can do away with the expensive and unreliable on-board audio, and install stationary speakers along the U-Turn and lift hill?
SoCalCoasters
A friend of mine told me an interesting number at Bay Area Bash... Â Supposedly X2 costs are 272,000 dollars a week to maintain? Â That seems a bit outlandish, but with X2, I wouldn't be too surprised.
BlueFireCoaster
^I wouldn't come forward and post numbers your friend told you if you don't have a legitimate source to back it up. Â Either way, that number is ridiculously high.
WFChris
272,000 sounds super accurate...I checked with the dippin dots guy and he totally agrees.

I'd kinda feel sorry for the people in line who'd get their ears blasted out with the same audio re-playing itself with every dispatch, only to hear it another time once they got on the ride. harper83087
I didn't have an issue with the audio at all, I actually enjoyed it a lot. I don't really understand peoples problem with it but everyone has a preference.
buckaroo234
i like the audio for 2 places, the break run, and the lift hill. However the 'going down' right at the drop is so perfect...
Tmcdllr
I forgot to mention, I forced my head to stay against the headrest for the entire ride and it was the most enjoyable ride I have ever had on both versions of X.....and I was on the outside! Yeah I got tossed around but my head did not bang at all, it was awesome!
CharlieT.
Anybody know if any rides go down for rehab in september? I will be visiting the park most likely on Saturday, September 17th, and will most likely be purchasing a Gold Flash Pass. I'm taking a friend from the bay area and really want to get on everything. Thanks.
Gmaster562
^ I'm not sure about the rehabs, but I can tell you that I don't think you will need a flashpass because most, if not all, schools are going to be in session. I would Check the crowds first and see if it is necessary to purchase one.
megalyte
^ Even though schools are in, he is going on a Saturday so the park will probably be somewhat busy.

Because he knows exactly what he is talking about ^ . But yes, I figure X2 to be expensive but that is extorshionate, the old X may have been that near the end but I doubt it is still that bad. Is there any more word about Tatsu's paint job? I know I saw one support that looked like it was getting paint...maybe
WFChris
You know, if you took the final price tag of X2 (Building it, upgrading, painting, maintaining, and staffing), it just might come out to a quarter million a week. Then again, unlikely.
RocketJet94
how is that per week? X2 has already been built, repainted, and rethemed. All that they have to worry about now is maintaing the ride as is which includes track inspections, wheel replacements, lift hill greasing, line sanitation, and obviously paying for those who staff it. Now that SIx FLags has payed of its X2 inverstment, it should be fairly reasonable now that the ride is running reliably and is still the most popular coaster in the park

Bubba
Just got back home in the Bay Area from Magic Mountain yesterday.  Audio on X2 still isn't working. =/ But otherwise the park looks great since I visited last year. All the rides were loaded at a fast pace. The employees seemed happy & entertaining at times.  Green Latern is great and a new experience. Got lucky due to us arriving at 10.35 (lil late past opening) we thought we would have to wait a while for it. But once we arrived in DC Universe, it was still being tested. We hit Batman, no wait, then had our first meal at Teen Titan's pizza place. Until we seen them open it and darted to the line (left the food with mom). First ones to ride it that day, no wait. It was pretty awesome. Just wished it spun more, watching the ride I only seen few cars twirling around like crazy, was kind of jealous hehe. Superman is much better as well. Sat in the front, going down I can feel all the air going into my eye sockets lol. It was crazy. The air conditioned line was a plus too.  Got to hit every ride once with my family, except Tatsu (hopped on empty seats as my bro & I were exiting) & Deja Vu twice thanks to single riders. Longest lines we waited that day was  X2-40 mins. Superman-45mins. (had about a 15min. breakdown though) Tatsu-30.  Everything else was 20mins or under. Nice day at the park! Wish they stayed open later though, 9pm just seemed to early. I pretty sure we stayed till 10 last summer, we always go the second week of August too so it wasn't different dates. Â Must be the same guy who tells anyone who will listen that it takes 15 weeks to rehab a train. The should stop using gold in the gear box, its to soft anyway. buckaroo234
Just was at the park yesterday, the audio on X2 works, perfectly on one train then only on the lifthill for the other train (my guess, batteries, at the top of the hill the sound got a lil wonky). Also, for it being saturdays the park isnt actually THAT bad, the longest wait was for green lantern which is finally not stopping on the MCBR for a while, and it looks like they removed some trims from the bottom of the curve into the MCBR. Still unfriendly to the manly bits, so prolly not gonna wait over an hour to ride it again.

John Knotts
Technically, there is! But no one is going to tell you that.
buckaroo234
Technically, there is! But no one is going to tell you that. Â then there isnt one. The only single rider thing i get is after your on the stairs sometimes they will call for single people to balance the car. But since they wernt running balanced it wasnt an issue and therefore didnt get me special treatment.
