cfc
I still have yet to ride Deja Vu. Maybe I'll give it a try at WCB, if it's up and running; frankly, it's not a coaster type that I care for (Vekoma shuttles).
Skycoastin Steve
My one ride last year during WCB was really, really good, and I HATE Vekomas. It's pretty much like eating poo to admit I like a Vekoma, but I liked this one.
SharkTums
^You have to remember that your rides are probably the best that ride is capable of! Â ERT and the day after a three month total rehab! The ride better run well then!
Skycoastin Steve
^This is true. My GhostRider rides that weekend were very good, as well, because it had just come off a lengthy rehab. That's good, though, I'd rather have positive reflections on rides rather than some of my less-than-glorious one-ride coasters (Rattler, SOB, Georgia Cyclone). Chrisrad
Out of about a dozen trips to SFMM, I've never been on Deja Vu. It just doesn't appeal to me for some reason (not the head-banging, but the long wait on an average day). Â If I can tolerate the pain, is there anything special about the ride? (I've been on Boomerang at Knott's and didn't care for it).
BaMiTsPaT
^I think that Deja Vu is A LOT better than the average boomerang because the drops off the lift spikes both forwards and backwards are awesome, whereas on boomerangs they are just bland. THe ride is also just bigger in every way, so it has that going for it too. I'd give it a shot and compare it with the boomerang at Knotts afterward. ebl
Most of my rides on The Great Green Vekoma haven't been too bad, but if it happens to find a new home elsewhere, you won't catch me crying or anything. At last year's WCB, I rode about 100 feet of it---the train pulled out to climb the first tower, then abruptly stopped. We hung there for about ten minutes, then they pulled the train back to load/unload and we were done. Â "Welcome back! Now, git off." I went back later and got a full ride on it, however. Â Now with two Vekomas at diagonally opposite ends of the park, do you think there will be a strange, new vibe to the place? Â Eric
willthethrill
Deja Vu shouldn't be judged against other Vekoma rides. Aside from reliability and some minor design issues (seat configuration) Vekoma got this one right. Is it worth the wait? Yes, but not for multiple rerides. I've never found the ride too uncomfortable, nothing you won't experience on X2 anyway. Â If you've never ridden a GIB, they are definitely worth the time. 6flagsbrad
Is the old roller skater site next to Deja Vu still boarded up? I'm wondering what they will do with that plot of land now.
rcdude
If you ignore Disneyland's Space Mountain, Deja Vu is probably my favorite Vekoma. I've only been on it a handful of times, but have always enjoyed it. I usually try to ride it once or twice per year. It was closed both times I tried to ride at WCB 2010, so if it is open this year I'll ride it once. If you've never been on it, the wait is under an hour, and you've done all the better coasters, I'd recommend giving it a ride.

DCody
It took me a while to get on Deja Vu due to the fact that it was always a.) closed or b.) mobbed. I finally rode SFMM's in 2009 and was really impressed. It's nothing like an ordinary boomerang...the spikes are really creepy and it's just, well, giant and inverted. It's also one of those rare examples of "good roughness"; the aggressiveness at that height and speed is really intense and un-B&M-like. I'm obviously a fan. angryemobeaver
I haven't ridden SFMM's Deja Vu, but I have ridden SFOG's and I love it! Not the smoothest coaster but by no means is it like Ninja next door. It's completely different from any boomerang, invertigo, or SLC. If the line isn't too long I wouldn't pass it up, definitely an under rated ride!
ebl
Is the old roller skater site next to Deja Vu still boarded up? I'm wondering what they will do with that plot of land now. Still boarded up and still vacant (as of my last visit on February 20). I'm guessing that area will be used for a small attraction or game of some sort, or a station for something in the future. Who knows? We'll see. Â Eric
A.J.
Isn't space mountain made specially by a ride manufacture owned by disney? Â Disneyland's Space Mountain was originally built by WED, but it was re-tracked by Vekoma. Hong Kong's Space Mountain was built entirely by Vekoma. Â I believe Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain(s) are the only ones that are still original WED tracks.
weathers
Oh lovely; thin fabric-covered OTSR that'll make me feel less secure in those dinky wildmouse-like train contraptions
ebl
^ That's what OTSRs should be like. The ones that are some rides are overkill to the eleventeenth power. I look forward to riding Green Lantern. Â Eric
cal1br3tto
I agree that you shouldn't necessarily prejudge Deja Vu them based on your experiences with other Boomerang coasters. GIBs are much more intense!

PeoplemoverMatt
For me, Deja Vu in the very last row has always been a great ride. The vertical drop after being pulled up the tower is very fun. Hard to believe Vu turns 10 this year. Where does the time go??
snoflake15
My one big regret on my 2 visits to SFMM was that I didn't get to ride Deja Vu. Closed both times.
GLund
Deja Vu is not the kind of coaster you can ride over and over, atleast for me it's much too intense for that. It's more of the "Xtreme" kind of ride the park was going for when they installed X, but is a must-ride for anyone that hasn't been on it yet. Â PeopleMoverMatt hit the nail on the head, ride it in the very back seat on the outside and that first freefall drop is way tall and terrifying. You're facing the ground and they time the release for the drop just right so you get that maximum air between the seat and the restraint. Total weightlessness and a feeling like you jumped off a building. And at the last second, the seat scoops your butt before you hit the ground and then yanks you forward with power. Â The rest of the ride is awesome too, IMO one of my top 3 at the park. Â BTW I saw the ERT posting for the WCB AM and didn't see S:EFK on there...
