superdad1029
I have not been on for a while but after reading the last 10 pages here are some thoughts: I live up here close to SFDK. The year they opened Thomas Town it was on all of the local advertising like the Tony Hawk Ride is this year. BTW I was happy with Tony Hawk after all. It is really small in size but being able to have my 5 and 10 year old and my wife and me all on the same ride was cool. Instead of taking still pictures they have cameras in the middle of the cars and they try to sell you a DVD for $20. I bet the camaras do not last 2 years. I think having a mix is important between thrill and kiddie rides but it is Magic Mountains Thrill Rides that get me to load up the car what used to be 6 times a year before this gas thing and come down for a couple of days. The kids areas are very important but lets face it almost all of the kids rides are the same in every park. I may come down with the family but I come for the coasters. Another thing that drives us to go 400 miles each way is the amount of coasters that my whole family can ride on, for instance Ninja is 42'. I love the reveloution paint job. I will always love revolution not only because of the vacation movie that I love but it was the first coaster I could fit on at Magic Mountain and my daughters first upside down coaster. It was big because when I first started coming down I was 350 pounds and Rev and Goliath was it. I had weight loss surgery just so I could fit on all of the coasters( OK and to live too..lol) and am proud to say I have lost 150 pounds and have rode every coaster in the park. I was scared for a while that Reveloution was on its way out. Six Flags has always gotten my dollar because of the huge range from kids stuff to thrills. Take care all, hope you are doing well. Rollerman87
^ Well said, and congratulations. Is SFMM perfect? Hell no. Are they trying though? Yes. Some of us want everything to be super perfect. Well, I got news for you. Even with Knott's millions of CF brand trash cans, PEOPLE will still litter, and the park may still look messy for a bit. Let's all give SFMM a break, and see what happens with this death at SFOG and how it affects our park.
Scarlet Spider 23
Thomas Town also is on the top for best kid's area!

Let's all give SFMM a break, and see what happens with this death at SFOG and how it affects our park. I was at USH today for the first time and the park was brand spankin' clean, all day long. Queue lines, spotless. The Jurrasic Park water, clear and clean. I don't think I saw ONE piece of trash on the ground the entire day! And I have to say, when everything is clean, and employees atleast talk and smile, it really doesn't make spending 18 dollars on lunch hurt so much. It just doesn't seem like that's something SF, nonetheless Magic Mountain, has understood in the past decade or so. They'd rather drop millions on a coaster to bring in attendance pops of teens than divide out another $20 or $30 grand to improve employee morale. To give each employee a broom, dustpan, or a fresh rag to clean with when they're bored. Or to provide an atmosphere that creates some sort of personal dignity for employees and the place they work at.
cooksta77
I would pay $200 for an Extreme Play pass in a heart beat, it is well worth the money! $125 is an excellent value, too good in fact. I would rather both of the passes go up than be nickeled and dimed on everthing else in the park. I have always felt the passes were very affordable compared to other parks in the So Cal area. I have a xtreme Play pass it's very worth it because I go 8-10 times a year! The only thing is they need to put a flash pass on X2 i've been saying that since X opened in 2002! On the other hand they could make the park cleaner but it's cleaner then it was!
nagro5
I know that you guys would pay $200 for an Extreme Play Pass, but the question is will the GP? They aren't like us coaster nerds. They only go to a theme park maybe once a summer.
RocknGuitar
I just got back from SFMM and I had a great time. X2 was amazing, and Thomas Town looked nice. The park was pretty empty though, so we hit nearly every ride except Viper. The only problem we had all day was in the Sky Tower... yes, the doors malfunctioned while we were in the museum, which was very cool. But I spotted Jahan, (I was the blond kid with the slightly long hair). All in all, it was a great day. It was the first time in my life I've seen an empty Riddler's line. ebl
^^ Parents in the Santa Clarita Valley will. Even with all of the "family" improvements, SFMM will still serve as their babysitter. A $200 pass is still cheaper than leaving the kids at home. And with the park having cleaned up its act, I think once the word gets out, most will still pay the $200. sfmmrules!
If you are flying down to LAX & NOT renting a car, what is the cheapest way to get to SFMM? I got a rate from Supershuttle & its $39 one way. I'm hoping theres another way to get there besides Supershuttle thats less.
Team Thriller
Hitchhike... If you stay at a hotel, I'm sure there would be a shuttle bus there or at least a taxi. (But I'm not sure that would be much cheaper. It's at least something to look into) --James

I know the pass works at all parks but getting the flash passes at all parks would RULE.
sfmmrules!
I will be going to SFMM on a Thrusday this month. If I get there a half hour before opening will I make it to X2 in time for a 5-10 min wait or will I be stuck w/a 3 hour wait if I don't get there fast enough? Hopefully you'll do better, try to get to the gates while they do theopening ceremonies, then when they let you in you won't need to bring up the rear. As you've heard from a few of us, they haven't opened X2 at opening all the time. Two weeks ago, when I was there, they didn't open X2 until midday on both Saturday or Sunday. But hey, you may get lucky. Good luck on the Bull Run

socalMAN123
Well, since today is the first time I've been to SFMM since WCB, I thought I would post a live update. Yes, Cyber Cafe rules. Today was awesome. I've never been so impressed by Magic Mountain. X2 is awesome and it really did improve my ride experience. The crew was awesome, even when the ride broke down. Every single ride had superb operations. The "new" trains on Revolution also improved the ride experience. All the coasters were also running great. CSI: Live is "meh". Good for the families though. Batman Begins Stunt Show was still okay. I really like the direction this park is taking, to come here is so much more fun now. Great job all SFMM staff, keep up the great work! Oh and Jahan, your rides are still the best on the block. ---Brent Yo, this is Antonio now. 100 percent agreed to everything Brent said. However, I want to make a special point. The Flash Pass process is sooooooo much better and faster now! I am extremely pleased. Thanks to everyone for making SFMM so awesome!!

nagro5
^Ugh, you know what I mean. But they might consider buying a regular season pass because they're the same price as general admission!
sfmmrules!
I was thinking of buying 2 fast lane tickets even though I'm going on a Thrus because I don't want to wait in Tatsu's long line especially since it will be my first time ever going on it. Is it likely Tatsu will be on the fast lane list? I was planning on using 4 fast lanes for Tatsu & the other 4 for the other coasters.
DBJ
Yup, Tatsu is on the fast pass list. I do a similar thing, use the FP that come with the extreme pass only for Tatsu.
socalMAN123
^ Yeah, Tatsu is like the only thing you need to use Flash Pass for now. X2 doesn't have it, so you can't use it on that. And everything else in the park is less then a 30 minute wait. ---Brent
PURE
I was thinking of buying 2 fast lane tickets even though I'm going on a Thrus because I don't want to wait in Tatsu's long line Yeah, waiting in line for Tatsu is for suckers. I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 or 10 minutes for Tatsu, thanks to my Xtreme Pass, b*tches! And would some of you PLEASE stop saying you would spend $200 dollars for Xtreme Play Passes? What are you people crazy?! I have no problem with them bumping the price a little bit, but a whole 'nother $75 dollars? What for, so they can make another 75 bucks a pop to screw over us loyal regular customers who they know will buy the Pass either way? General Admission, Parking, All Day Lockers and Souvenir Cups are expensive enough as it is. Before they start raising prices again, I think the quality of the park needs to improve. I wouldn't mind paying more for the Xtreme Pass (Which I'll probably have to now, because of you guys) with all of the perks, but suggesting it to the park is like throwing yourself on the railroad tracks! Now your going to be paying more, and for what reward? MM to make more $$$ off of you?
