coasterlvr
because the membership dining isn't on sale. it's a lot more. looking, i see 13.99 per month. That explains that! I have the dining pass that expires at the end of this year. So I guess I'll purchase this to expand across the parks. If you find out how that works (gold pass membership + non-membership dining pass) please update Just got off the phone with SF. Basically, there's no gold pass membership dining option, only the $84.99 option. When you purchase a new membership + dining pass, the dining pass will just end at the end of 2016, and the membership will continue. No way to pass your current pass/dining to anyone else (no surprise there). yeah, i screwed up and shouldn't have bought the membership dining pass when i did. oh well, i'm still going to get this one, and just cancel the membership asap in june. guess it's not as bad as buying a cedar fair platinum pass, and not using it yet this year. i'm only 3 miles from knott's, you'd think i'd go at least once. lol

Errrr, I hate that the rest of 2015 overlaps with the new gold pass/dining pass! SMH!

brneff99
So I'm another confused patron...I have a Gold Pass with Parking that is good through 2015...do I just buy a brand new regular pass with this Sale that is then upgraded to exactly what I have now?? So in essence I'm not getting the remainder of 2015 free because I already have a Gold Pass but I'm getting 2016 cheaper??

SFMMGeek27
If you have 2015 dining and are buying 2016 dining it's actually a good deal right now. You can get double food! So you scan into the park with one of your passes and then you just exit and scan in with the other pass so that the dining deals can be used on both cards. So you can order your friend's food and give it to them for free! I did this multiple times last year and it worked every time.

KBrylczyk
Just got to Magic Mountain today for the first time since TC opened. Did a short two hours before the crowds showed up after lunch. Overall it was a great morning until the horrific crew at Ninja decided to ruin it. Twisted Collosus - Balls to the wall insane and awesome. Two halves that are short but completely ridiculous create one huge, fantastic ride. Since it's sliced in half the ride doesn't get a chance to slow down. From the drop to the lift / brakes this thing is a monster, and I love it. I've only done two other RMCs, iRat and NTAG, and I rank this right alongside iRat for the same reason, that it never slows down. NTAG is awesome but really loses it's steam in the final quarter. TC and iRat start like a coked-up whore on heroine and finish just the same. NTAG starts like that but finished like the nice girl you met on OK Cupid after a few drinks. Full Throttle - Fun as always, but holy crap, Six Flags. Take care of the rust on the trains. My shorts now have nice, sweeping stains on them from the rust on the lap bars. Ugh. Lex Luthor - Got to ride when Supes launched, too! Supes went up the tower as we were nearing the top, leaving us to sway BIG time left and right while waiting for the brakes to release. My better half was having a panic attack, thinking the tower would collapse. Meanwhile me, being a jerk, was laughing, waving my arms, yelling "we're gonna die! Oh, no, the tower's shaking! We're gonna die!" Yeah, I'm a prick. This is an awesome observation tower. Beautiful views and a quick elevator ride. 10/10 would ride again. Superman - Not the quickest launch, not the fastest launch, but still my favorite. It just keeps...getiing...faster!!!!! It's probably the simplest coaster on the planet (straight track that curves up) but DAMN do I love it! The crew was pounding people through, too! One side operating but they were launching the trains at the shortest interval allowed by the motors. Good on them! Ugh, Ninja - Fun ride, absolutely disgusting crew. One train ops, still, but with 10+ minute dispatches. We had a two-train wait. We didn't get on the ride for a half hour. I don't even want to get into the double ride the train ahead of us got with no explanation, only to have a ride op tell me I should "shut up and stop whining" and then have the lead tell me they're "Just doing their jobs" and that I should "take it up with guest relations." Hey, Ninja crew and lead, GO TO HELL. I've never been treated so poorly at a theme park. So yeah, fun day up until Ninja. I really hope I run into the ride op and ride lead at WCB in a week, because I'm gonna have a LOT of fun with them.
DoinItForTheFame
So glad to see Revolution getting some much needed TLC. I think the (From what I can tell) lights will make the coaster look even better in night time photos. So glad for the lapbars as well. It seems like the OSRS were no needed and caused unneeded headbanging. Can't wait to try out the "new" coaster next season!!!
DoubleDown
The deals SF is offering to locals and frequent visitors is great marketing, but to be honest, I'm starting to wonder what's going on behind the smoke and mirrors to influence these types of advantageous price cuts? 1. More people in the park for cheaper = more guest money spent in the park on absurdly overpriced items. We all know this. 2. More people in the park for cheaper = longer lines = Flashpass sales increase at their ridiculous prices, which if you step back and take a look, costs the park virtually nothing, and is something the park only benefits from IF THEY HAVE LONGER LINES!!! Longer lines because they let people pay $10 a month to get in for FREE anytime they want during the year. 3. GA first time visitors pay VIP prices on Flash Pass to beat lines because they're only going to be there one time even after they've paid full price for admission AND parking. More people in the park for a cheap pass influences this kind of behavior from 1st or 1 time visitors. Of course, there's always the VIP Tour option that 4. You can purchase for $1,316, which covers 4 people, to basically allow you to cut in line and do whatever you want (huge cash grab for SF). 5. Soda refills cost about 3 cents a fill up on a souvenir cup = the company wants your cash now, and promises to provide services in the future. Buy a $20 cup now, free refills all year, let's see...visit 10 times a year and get 5 refills a visit. HOLY CRAP YOU SPENT $20 for a $1.50 worth of soda and a generic cup that cost them less than a buck, what a DEAL! Let's be honest, new trains on Revolution is pennies in the bucket for the park. Don't get me wrong I'm SO GLAD it's getting done, but Six Flags is an absolute MONSTER and KING when it comes to nickel and diming their customers, as well as failing to deliver on said services once that customer pays for something they were promised. There is absolutely no way I can complain about Revolution getting new trains without the OTSR's. But lets be honest, Six Flags knows what they're doing. horootle
Finally rode TC yesterday. Lines seemed to hover around 25 minutes all afternoon (queue almost to the entrance). The crew did a pretty good job of dispatching but with the horrible programming on the lift hill it's just almost impossible to get them to duel. We did get lucky once. They really need to get the people who did the Dueling Dragons lift programming which is just brilliant. TC just starts up and slows down and speeds up and slows down. At one point I saw two trains go up at the top perfectly together... And then at the very top, blue side slowed down a bit and was left in the dust! Wtf? This could be a great feature with a little bit of time spent on improving the PLC. The ride itself was good and probably the most fun RMC (I've ridden all but WC and Medusa). It's definitely got some unique pacing ("bigger" half of a ride, long break, "bigger" half again) but I like that it's different. Intensity wise I would say only Goliath is less intense; the two Texas rides are more intense and Outlaw Run is the most. The crowd loved it. One woman got off in hysterics and told the ride op they should rename it "Lauging Colossus". That's pretty high praise in my book even if I might prefer some of the more intense ones. It grew on me as the day went on so I'm looking forward to getting a few more rides.
Arthur_Seaton
Finally rode TC yesterday. Lines seemed to hover around 25 minutes all afternoon (queue almost to the entrance). The crew did a pretty good job of dispatching but with the horrible programming on the lift hill it's just almost impossible to get them to duel. I was there yesterday as well and have started to notice this on recent trips. The crew is consistently great, but they seem to be at the mercy of the tech. The lift chains have been a bit weird as of late (the green side will slow to allow the blue to catch up, but when the blue gets close, the green will speed up and ruin the duel). With that said, I only rode it once yesterday (I'm sort of over TC, to be honest, and there are other rides in the park that I prefer) and it dueled well up into the hi-five and then one of the sides seem to slow down a bit after that. No Goliath yesterday (it's been down for the past two visits I've taken, even after replacing the chain). Apocalypse was still one train (despite one sitting on the transfer track). I actually went to the park specifically to set up my 2016 pass and to ride Revolution a few times before it goes offline (front seat is easier to take than middle/back, I discovered). I still love the layout and am hoping all those hideous trims get turned off with the new version. Rode X2 three times (I'm not a fan of that ride at all, but there was no line). First ride was actually pretty good (inside seat, right side, 2nd car from the back), but the two follow up rides were as brutal as ever (once in the middle and once on the same seat on the other train). Viper still blows goat (IMO). Crowds were fairly light, and many rides were a walk-on but with the popular rides were seeing some 30 min + waits. The TC line appeared worse than it was because of a crew member holding and releasing the line midway through the switchbacks to minimize crowds on the actual station itself. Anyhow, a fun little trip overall.

BDG
I don't want to alarm you or anything, but you miiiiiiiight want to get tested for diabetes. Myth: Diabetes is caused by eating too much sugar. FALSE. Diabetes is not caused by eating too much sugar. There are two types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the pancreas completely stops making any insulin, a hormone that helps the body to use glucose (sugar) found in foods for energy. The exact cause or causes of type 1 diabetes isn’t known, but researchers suspect environmental factors, viruses or genetics play a role. What is known is that eating too many sweets doesn’t cause diabetes! Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, results when the body doesn’t produce enough insulin and/or is unable to use insulin properly (this is also referred to as ‘insulin resistance’). This form of diabetes usually occurs in people who are over 40 years of age, overweight, and have a family history of diabetes, although today it is increasingly occurring in younger people. CanobieFan
I'm glad to see the park restore this classic ride. Very unlike Six Flags to put money into an old ride, but I'm not complaining. I live near SFNE (like 4 hours but its still the closest Six Flags park near me...) and this is much more exciting than Bizarro turning into Superman. What I would love to see is classic lights on the loop like Corkscrew at Cedar Point. I'd go crazy! No trims please! The new train looks unreal if that's what they're really doing!
