robbalvey
I feel if you have constructive criticism about the park, it should be posted. But ask yourself before you post "Am I being constructive? Am I arguing? Or am I just complaining?" Please ask yourself that before you hit the "Submit" button. Be careful....I think people are starting to get too sensitive as to what is 'allowed' to be posted now a days. There is a time when a complaint is valid too. Yours about how you weren't being allowed into the park an hour before closing, and over cold donuts, and inattentive or uninterested employees for example. Perfectly valid, and useful to the management of the park. Agreed. Those were valid commnets. I'm not telling people NOT to post those. What I'm saying is to please try to keep a valid commment like the request for more vegitarian options from turning into pages of bickering over someone's choice of diet or religious beliefs. If you can be constructive in either your criticism or responses, that's GREAT! That's what I encourge out of all of our members. Those are the types of comments that will really HELP a park and will make this site become a tool for them to motivate employees and improve guest satisfaction. Because that's really what we all want, right? We want the parks to see things through our set of eyes, and hope that some of the issues we see, can be addressed. It's a realistic world out there so I don't expect all of our issues to be resolved and some of them may not even be valid. But I can tell you we ARE being heard. And by more parks than just Magic Mountain. Bottom line - Post your comments. Post your concens. Post your responses. But please try to keep them constructive and moving forward. I hope that makes sense? Thank you! --Robb
Jew
Just to provide an example...the lockers. Valid Complaint: If you go to the park and they make you put even 100% secured items in the lockers that don't slow down the loading at all. "Bitching" Complaint: Pretty much the last 10 pages. People were offering their opinions/complaints on a policy that I don't believe any of them had been directly affected by. Things were being repeated over and over again and the discussion wasn't going anywhere. The bottom line is simple: If someone asks a question, there's no need to do anything other than answer the question. If someone has a comment about the park, there's no need to do anything else than add to the discussion. That can be simple as "I agree---my 2 year old would love that" or "Here's the reason why...," "You can actually do this instead...", "There are other alternatives..." and so on. bflag
The countdown on the SFMM website has officially made me excited and anxious. I cant wait for May 24th it couldn't get here any faster....I haven't felt like this since the announcement of TATSU....that was a longest 7 months of my life! Great job on building the anticipation of an already existing ride. I know it will exceed my expectations. I have a feeling that in 5 years we wont be hearing negative comments about the park. Instead we will be praising new management for a job well done!
NYTrojan
*COUGH* so how about them roller coasters? *COUGH* That's kind of the problem: There's no new info right now. It's the lull before the storm if you will. So, in lieu of actual information, new topics to discuss, or anything particularly constructive how about we do the next best thing: WILD SPECULATION! There is not that much time before X2 is opened to the public. With that kind of time left, what do you think they will add to it that hasn't been announced? What do you guess are these 'visual, audio and sensory effects' we've heard promised? How do you think the place will be re-themed (if at all). Tim mentioned that they got some loading ideas from the folks in Japan... that they can't use all of them because they can't reconstruct the station from scratch, but that some things may be adapted for use. What do you think they will change in the station? Look, there's not a lot that is concrete to talk about just now, so lets see how creative we can be instead. iamscottevil
Sorry about the photo crack, I guess I should have phrased it "although I don't use the photo booths, there are the following....." ... " but batman and superman are the only ones closed so I disagree that it's an issue the park needs to work on". I'm sorry I made it personal, truce? You are right, ever since the donut post things have gottten kinda complainey and we're all guilty of it, I guess since we think they're finaly listening we want our 2c in. Sorry to everyone for being a pain.

robbalvey
That's kind of the problem: There's no new info right now. It's the lull before the storm if you will. It does make it more difficult to come up with things to discuss when nothing new is brought up. It make take a bit of effort from some of us to come up with stuff to chat about....for example.... bflag
In my opinion I think they should have two different rides like Disney did with Rockin Space Mountain. For example, in the day the ride would pretty much stay the same with the exception of an audio soundtrack. Then at night they could change the audio and mix it in with some killer visual effects....something with fire would be cool and a possibility that has been suggested. The ride looks so cool with the new paint job, imagine seeing X2 @ night with fire, red lighting or even a strobe light or two. Adding visual effects to the station is a good idea and something that I would like to see. Whatever they come up with will be awesome so if I don't see any of these things I wont be disappointed....cause whatever is best for the park Iam all for it. nagro5
I didn't play the the 3 Point Challenge, but my friend did. There was only four people in line so he thought he'd give it a go. He paid his $10 and started to shoot. I don't remember how much time they give you but it's not a lot. Well anyway, he only made two out of fifteen shots. He said that it was a lot harder with all the people watching. The next guy that went up broke the record for the day with twelve out of fifteen shots! I have a video of my friend playing if y'all want me to post it (and if someone will tell me how). The 3 Point Challenge was a great add, and is sure to bring in money. Hey, $40 was made in the five minutes that I was near it. It was a good idea to put that in! It's a real crowd pleaser.
NYTrojan
How does it work? There must be some serious prizes, along with some actual chance at winning them for folks to be willing to plunk down 10 bucks on a midway game.
ghost007jas
^ There are three different locations in which there are five balls each set up on metal racks. You have a certain amount of time to shoot all fifteen balls, and it ends when you either run out of balls or time (whichever comes first). So you start at the three point line to the left of the basket shoot five, then move to the center of the three point line, shoot another five. Then you move to the right of the three point line, shoot the last five and your done. At Knott's the prizes are basketballs, Jersey's, and other normal midway prizes. nagro5
Here are the big prizes, but you have to make all fifteen to get one of them. The smaller prizes were stuffed animals, jerseys, and I think something else but I'm not sure what it was.
FeelTheFORCE
The prizes vary by park. At Cedar Point last year, if you made all the shots, you won a Wii, whereas at Kennywood, if you made all the shots you won a jersey of your choice (out of a limited selection). I forget what the top prize at Kings Island was.

BroncoBob
Hey guys, Sorry it took me so long to get around to adding a reply. I was not trying to needlessly bitch. I was just throwing an idea out there. I was not demanding a change. I'm fully aware what menu items are veggie friendly, and i know if those don't agree with me, than hey, i can leave the park to get something to eat. I didn't want my little idea to turn into many pages of back and forth, it was just a thought. Anyways, back to just talking the park. The 3 Point Challenge seems to be a really good add. There was a constant line for it on Sunday when i was there, and it seems like a good profit maker. On another side note, it looks like Six Flags turned a little bit of a profit this quarter. To me that seems a good sign that new management is really turning things around. Bob
ZipityDoDog
At MM there are three racks with four balls each. Three are orange and worth one point and there is one black ball. They call the black ball the "money shot" and it is worth 2 points. For a total of 15 points if all balls are made. The shooter only gets 45 seconds, but when I was watching last week they let the player shoot even after the clock ran out. I did see a guy get twelve points. He won an Ipod Nano. It took about fifteen minutes to get him the prize. But, that and ten dollars was a small price to pay. I completely understand why they would not keep the larger prizes at the game. After he won, I watched seven or eight people play with no luck at all.
PURE
They should have a Hall of Fame wall to keep track of all the people that make 15 shots--because I bet it happens so rarely. That way in 10 years if the person comes back, their name will still be up there and they can show it off to all their friends.

Mechanic
The hall of fame wall is a great idea. I think a picture showing the winner receiving their prize would really encourage more people to play. On the subject of food, does anyone know if they plan to add any more sit-down restaurants along the lines of Mooseburger lodge? Our group ate there during WCB and we really enjoyed it. I understand there was once an Asian themed restaurant up on Samurai summit that was supposedly very good. Why did it close, and is it likely that it may re-open? AllenA07
^Actually for a long time Laughing Dragon (which, if still open, serves pizza) used to be called Four Winds (is that right) and was a steakhouse.
