Finally, around 6:30, a Tatsu train got stuck on the lift near the bottom and the walkway between Ninja and Tatsu was shut down. It looked pretty serious and maintenance had to rotate the seats to that everyone could be evacuated from there. Rumor was floating around from the employees and bystanders who had witnessed the train get stuck that the lift chain broke.

Hopefully this isn't another ride down for the count!

 

It could have been just a regular RTL. I've evacuated Silver Bullet from the lift hill twice, and both times the ride was back up the next day.

Would SFMM be able to confirm if it's a lift chain issue?

 

Most likely they wouldn't be able to confirm until the night after when the maintenance team has a real chance to look at it. Then the park would need to decide what statement it wants to make, if any.

For those that don't know what RTL means, it stands for Ride Trouble Light. SFMM doesn't evacuate Tatsu unless something catastrophic happened such as a chain break.

I sat on the lift for over 30 minutes before while maintenance troubleshot a fault.

Is it weird to feel excited to see Scream popular and with a full line again after all these years?

I've actually enjoyed Scream with no line.

I as well hope that Scream will gain some popularity.

I hope screem line gets longer and spreads crowds out since I ride it almost every time many times just.cause the lines so short I have gotten sick of it.

That would assume SFMM will keep all the trains running at Scream. I've been there numerous times where the line is long because of 1 train operation.

SFMM doesn't do social media like some of the other Six Flags parks, unfortunately. But, I hope it happens, when that time comes. Wicked Cyclone's looks great.

Do we know why SFMM doesn't do major social engagement like a lot of the other big parks do? It seems like a pretty easy thing for them to do and grab a lot of attention. Even little bits would help.

seems so simple, huh. i assume it's park by park, since it's different with each Six Flags. let's not even mention how great some other parks are, or maybe i sort of just did. lol Magic Mountain must not think it's important. i wish they did. i enjoy reading updates and inside construction stuff from the park directly.

Has there been a reliable source that stated Twisted Colossus testing was supposed to begin today, or does everyone just expect it because Wicked Cyclone did? Honestly, when I was there last week the coaster looked about a week and a half from testing, so I'm thinking it will probably be toward the end of this week when they start, not necessarily today.

I saw somewhere on Twitter that there's supposed to be a 'media' group checking out TC on Wednesday. They could possibly give it a run through with people there to watch and write about it, but I honestly don't completely know and can only speculate. I just can't wait for this to open! This is the first coaster in a long time that I've been excited about.

if anyone's there, go yell out for Alan and ask him when it's going to run, he's onsite today. or yes, there will probably be an answer when testing will start wed during the construction tour i read people talking about.

^^If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised for the park to do the first test run at the event (or possibly the night before just to make sure it will work). I also wouldn't be surprised if they announce the official opening day at that event. In any case, I'm actually more excited for the first racing test run, but I have a feeling they'll do 1-2 weeks of single train testing before that point.

Thats not true that they arent active on social media. I follow SFMM on Facebook and they certainly post a sufficient amount. I like the amount the post..just enough to let you know what's going on without bugging you. In fact just yesterday they posted an official POV of Green Lantern, the last coaster they had yet to post one for. Funny though in the official POV run they didn't even get a flip on the last drop, probably because the train was empty...just sayin they shoulda put one water dummy in it or something to make it flip for the video.

^Before that video, they had gone since April 18th without posting anything. They don't appear to be responding to people's comments either. Just looks like typical robot posted stuff to me.

I'll agree they post, but not much interesting stuff. no videos of construction, or what's going on. just basically advertisements to come to the park. would have loved to see something like the goliath insider. or the rougarou files. cedar point, tony clark, and crew do an awesome job with social media.

 

look at how good Rob is, the site, forum and events would suck if he wasn't so good at doing it, imo. to me, sfmm is doing basic social media.

Its not fair to compare them to Rob/TPR...TPR is way above and beyond it's nearest competitor. You're right it had been a while since the last video, the others came pretty steadily in a row and there was a gap until this one. I do wish they'd post more (or any?) updates about TC's construction, but there are numerous fan sites posting regular updates in addition to TPR and for the stuff they can't get, RMC fills in that gap. You could also argue that hosting multiple construction tours with fan site operators is contributing to social media even if they arent doing the posting themselves.

i believe it's there way of doing it with the tours. i love seeing the tour updates. stuff that would be nice to see is ongoing construction stuff they do. like, the tidal wave wall, the jet stream painting, painting at hurricane harbor.

 

i just think with a great coaster like TC being built, they could update/hype it much better with more inside info on construction.

 

anyway, i think it would be awesome if they really are that close to testing to let all the construction tour guys witness that.

Alan was indeed at Twisted Colossus today and the orange train was at the bottom of the lift hill last I saw. I'm really excited to see this thing run!
