On Saturday 11/21, Theme Park Review was invited to see the Six Flags Magic Mountain Holiday in the Park Drive-thru Experience. It’s rare for park patrons to get to drive through a theme park, so this

Apparantly Goliath will be getting a new theme of the new game Monster Hunter Ultimate 4 by Capcom for the summer.

This will probably end up being the most heavily themed ride at SFMM.

Hello everyone. I'm visiting SFMM sometime during the week of 8/6...probably Tuesday or Wednesday. It's been a year and a half since I visited last, and I want to ride everything...multiple times. I've made peace with the fact that this will require a Flash Pass, and plan on buying one (unless you all think that it'll be really quiet that week...during the spring break event). I was wondering if anyone knows how much they charge for a lost Flash Pass. Does anyone know? Thanks.

August is typically busy almost every day so you will probably need one even in the middle of the week. I forget the charge exactly but its a lot, I want to say like $200.

Here are some pics of the Goliath Overlay from yesterday.

Actually looks like some decent theming and it's supposed to be here for 6 months the ride ops were saying.

I should also mention that they came out with a green souvenir bottle for just $19.99 that gets you free refills all year at any Six Flags theme park. It's a totally great deal. I bought one and already had a red one!

Telling you about the "enemy" you will be fighting while on the ride.

Oh and advertising while you ride!!! This is also only on the wrapped train.

See, I told you you were fighting an "enemy" while on the ride.

You guys knew it was coming! The infamous Six Flags Train Wrap!!! Good thing it's just on one of the trains

Interesting piece of theming. Not sure what it's about.

Wow that is now the best themed ride in the entire park.

Seriously though, as far as in park advertisements and ride overlays goes, this actually looks... Dare I say it... Alright? Definitely a lot better than just putting a train wrap on the coaster and calling it a day. Since Six Flags will never get rid of ads, I'd much prefer this to Viper and Revolution's tacky wraps.

This actually looks pretty good. In fact, if it wasn't an advertisement I probably wouldn't mind if it was permanent. The theming in the queue is better than anything Six Flags has done since Apocalypse and the train wrap doesn't look bad. Now if only there was a full size statue of the Gore Magala on top of the tunnel...

I'm gonna agree and say both the scenery and the wrap on the trains looks pretty good. The scenery doesn't deviate too far from the sort of mysterious theme of Goliath.

And let's face it, this is a MUCH better pairing than seeing those disgusting got2b or whatever the hell hair products were advertised on Viper's trains. SMFH.

SFGAdv had some pretty heinous ones on El Toro and Kingda Ka as well

Must agree 100% here... as a matter of fact, I hope they find game companies to sponsor every single ride at SFMM!

Oops, I wrote the wrong date. I meant to say 4/6. Still getting a Flash Pass, as it's spring break time. So, to reiterate my original question, does anyone know the lost/damaged Flash Pass fee? Thank you.

I don't know why you'd be so concerned about losing the Flash-Pass. In case you didn't know, it comes connected to a strap with a carabiner that you just click on to one of your belt loops, and it won't go anywhere. I mean, unless you really really try to bust it off.

I would also suggest purchasing the gold, and passing on the platinum. I used the gold on a pretty busy day last year, and it got us on everything without a hiccup.

I'm not concerned about losing it. I simply don't want to sit through the presentation, as I've used the Flash Pass many times before. I've been allowed to go straight to the rental room before, but was asked the lost/damage fee first. So, that's why I was asking. If I have to sit through the presentation, so be it. However, if I can manage to go straight to rental, all the better. Thanks for your input, everyone.

Last time I was there they just asked "Have you rented here before" and if I said yes I could go straight to the rental room. SFMM policies change like the weather though.

Re: gold vs platinum - Platinum now includes YOLO, and Gold no longer includes Superman, so there's kind of a reason to get platinum now that wasn't there before.

Just proceed directly thru the exit doors. Most likely will not ask. But it's 100 unless it's gone up in the last 3 months

Thanks everyone. I remember it being $250, then going down to $100. I just wanted to make sure it hasn't changed since then. Looks like it hasn't. I've been asked how much the fee is in a "What's the password" kind of way, I've also just gone straight in after telling them that I've rented before. Not sure what'll happen, but I want to get all my ducks in a row, just in case. As for gold vs. platinum, I'm thinking platinum. I just want to ride over and over...and having YOLO on there does sweeten the deal. And, considering I have a season pass, that's money I don't have to spend in the first place. Makes springing for the top-of-the-line pass a little easier. Thanks again for the help, everyone. I appreciate it. Can't wait to get back to the Mountain and ride the vast collection of big coasters!

It was 100 back in November at least

Perhaps it's different at SFMM or has changed recently. I've never used the Flash Pass at SFMM, but I used it at SFGAm and SFGAdv last summer and it was $250 there. Since I believe it is Accesso that imposes the fee and not the park itself, I figured it was uniform across the chain, but I guess not.
