Page 2218 - Wonder Woman Roller Coaster for 2022!

Funny how they still have the white lines for parking.
Thats always the part that really bothered me. It's not that the coaster was placed where a parking lot used to be, it's that they were so lazy that they couldnt paint the lines out or just throw some gravel down. It just screams (no pun intended) "I dont care".

Scream's parking lot seems like an ideal opportunity for some well done 3D street art. Not necessarily these examples, but something along these lines that takes into account the riders' perspective would be much better than parking lot lines.

This is what I meant by Paint - The - Pavement. Hire a professional artist(s) to first ride the coaster and figure out spots for Steampunk 3D art. Close the thing down for the time it takes to paint it, then open with the new theme! Easy! And where the fences are could be steampunk walls and even giant machinery in turn around spots etc.

EDIT to add: And from what I know, this could definitely be a First for any coaster, yes? And the resulting rider publicity on PunkScream may actually out-PR Twisted Colossus!

3D art wouldn't exactly work, because the view only works from certain angles, and when you're riding a coaster, the majority of people aren't stopping to enjoy the area around them. I think people would aesthetically enjoy something other than a parking lot, but to go as far as a 3D painting I think is a bit much for a coaster's landscape.

I would almost be amused with SFMM trolling us by "repainting" Scream, and by that, I mean repainting the parking lot lines and leaving the coaster as is.

Paint the coaster, enhance the trains and make the entrance look more enticing. Anything more than that and I'll be shocked. I honestly do not care that much about a parking lot underneath a decade old coaster. They'll do all that work, and people will still dismiss the ride as "rough".

The only people I ever hear complaining about it being rough are enthusiasts. The GP (and hell, myself as well) find the ride as smooth as any other B&M, and much smoother than many other coasters in the park.

I have also never heard anybody complain about the parking lot lines except for the enthusiast world. As mentioned before, Colossus has them beneath it as well and nobody complained about that.

I would love some Kumba-esq grass underneath it, but that will never happen with our drought issue going on right now. Some California 'Baja Ridge' style landscaping would go a long way though. If they can put a Chinese restaurant in the Mexico themed land, they can theme the steampunk area to Mexico

^^ When Colossus opened, the www didn't exist. So we accepted it, rode the coaster and that was that.

Only now when opinion and criticism are more rampant and more immediate around the electronic world...

We're just starting to see all those parking lot lines, lol. It's still sad,

that they never really considered doing anything below the coaster, once they built it.

^^That actually sounds pretty awesome. Fits the YOLO theme really well.

I am not sure what it is about Scream, but it seeme to be very hit-or-miss whenever I ride it. Sometimes, it is as smooth as any other B&M, and sometimes it is one of the worst big B&M's out there. It does tend to be worse toward the front, though. I would actually say the same about the roughness on Riddler, only Riddler tends to be worse in the back.

However, Scream is just kind of the ride that is just 'there' for me. In fact, I sometimes even forget that the ride is at the park when I am in it. It would be a somewhat impressive ride at almost any other park, but at SFMM it adds little to the lineup and is mostly just tucked away in the corner.

I do agree that this corner of the park desperately needs an upgrade, and I am glad it is getting one. (Actually, the entire park less DC Universe could use an upgrade, but at least something is happening).

At SFMM, the best thing to do when you hope an area will get in upgrade is hope that a new ride will be built there without YOLO theming.

And remember, when Colossus first opened, even though the lines were there, they weren't as obvious as they are on Scream. Partially because the structure itself was so massive because it covered them up, and also because I'm sure the paint used to stripe them at that time wasn't as good. By 1980 when this picture was taken, they were gone.

^Although I'm hoping that TC will add some new life to Scream, I'm a little sad that my 'Go-To-Big-Coaster' with no line might have a consistent line now!

What if they took the white parking lot lines and extended them out so there were just a bunch of random white lines on the ground (but not parking spots!)? Do you think that would help or make it even more chaotic and weird than it is already?
