Manic Monte 7
is X2 really that popular? i always thought that the long lines were just because of it's slow loading dispatch. i haven't ridden it in a couple years. In my experience, it's both.
glouthan 0
The lines on that ride get long, but if you hit the sweet spot around 3:00, the line is only in the station. (At least from my experience).
ftdude16 0
were all the rides open? I really do hope everyone runs to TC once it's open (and for years to come). The crowd needs to be divided up. Most people run towards X2 and Tatsu.... now people have a good reason to run RIGHT towards TC (and to a lesser extent Goliath/Yolo). Yes, all the roller coasters were open I believe (except for Scream! because of the construction and such going on there). The only water ride that was open was Jet Stream. is X2 really that popular? i always thought that the long lines were just because of it's slow loading dispatch. i haven't ridden it in a couple years. In my experience, it's both. I agree with this. It's both slow (usually) and quite popular.

The last several times I been to the mountain, dispatches have been pretty good. Nothing amazing, but nothing compared to Tatsu. Yolo, Tatsu, and X2 are still the leading contenders as far as lines. Goliath would probably be fourth. In the past I never considered Goliath to be that big of a deal, but the massive lines I noticed during Frightfest and Holiday in the Park proved otherwise. ioio 0
is X2 really that popular? i always thought that the long lines were just because of it's slow loading dispatch. i haven't ridden it in a couple years. Personally, it's my favorite ride still (drop + inside raven turn FTW). Lately (as in the last 3 times I've been there in 2 months), they've been dispatching quickly (as the other train comes back to the station). Apparently you can't ask for more than that by SFMM standards, so I'll take it. Prior to that (late summer/Fright Fest), they were running one train, or very sloppy two trains. X2, Tatsu, and soon to be Twisted Colossus (I hope) will be the top 3 rides for many. Tatsu always has atrocious operations. I don't think I've ever seen them hit their 120 second times. And hypothetically, they sometimes use both stations, but I've never witnessed that before.

singemfrc 0
Does anyone else think it's a little weird that Apocalypse is now almost sun-bleached white? I mean, I know I've seen sun fade wood coasters before, but I don't think I've seen a woodie go from being natural wood color to almost WHITE! This just seems to strange to me. Before/After --Robb ps. Please stop calling this ride "I'm too stupid to spell the word Apocalypse" - Just learn how to spell Apocalypse. Or use your spell checker to correct it. That is crazy..makes me think it's something other than just the sun..something to do with the treatment that was used or something? Just spitballing, but yeah agree I've never seen something like that especially that fast. I find it almost as bad as Roar @ SGDK. Actually, they did some strategic retracking lately that really made a huge difference. Since the retrack its a completely different experience. We're not talking Gold Striker nice, but it's been improved to the point where it's no longer painful, they got rid of that nasty "pothole" at the bottom of that first drop. is X2 really that popular? i always thought that the long lines were just because of it's slow loading dispatch. i haven't ridden it in a couple years. In my experience, it's both. Yeah it really is. It gets long waits on almost all days in the first half of the day, but with most people wanting to do it first (and not do it again because of the pain) coupled with typically above average operations, the line usually dies at ~4PM or so. Wow, twisted colossus is probably one of the nicest looking wooden coasters I have seen! I just love that pop of color on the white supports. Ugh, I really can not wait until it is finished! Pssst... ....gimmie yer fluids. please excuse my fuming and ranting, but I cant take this abuse anymore! what is with u people? I guess u guys didn't see my last post. I FEEL UNWANTED HERE! but....for some reason....I stay! because I love keeping up with the latest sfmm hype u people post here, as well as sharing my OWN PHOTOS once in a while which, by the way, never receive any recognition! I only try to fit in the best way I can and sometimes I go with some of the jokes and get in on the complaints and even the good stuff, but now I feel I am not wanted here. I WAS going to upgrade to a paid tpr membership this year, but I am having second thoughts. so what I am not a hard core enthusiast! I am just as passionate about roller coasters as any of you! im sorry the nickname is offensive to some of you! I DIDNT KNOW, OK?? IM SORRY! it just clicks right to me! I don't want to leave here, but I now feel as if im being chased away. ok, end rant. Edited January 7, 2015 by colossus_queen

Gnome 0
^ i am so confused by this outburst. I just spent the last 10 minutes re-reading through the thread and Im still confused as to where this is coming from. Getting back on topic, my theory is the constant mispelling of apocalypse's name is what's contributing to the bleaching of the ride. Every time it's mispelled, it will slowly fade white, and then eventually, it will just disappear.
Fire2box 0
I find it almost as bad as Roar @ SGDK. Sounds like Apocalypse will be fine for me. Roar is a bit rough but I don't think its as rough as The Grizzly at CGA from like 2004-2007, though I haven't been on that either after Cedar Fair re-tracked it or whatever happened with it. Also I still think Falling Skies would of been a nice re-theme for the coaster, I mean that shows still on right?
eastcoast 0
Ok I got a chuckle out of the Apocalypse word filter, but nearly fell off my chair when catching up reading previous pages and seeing the Colossus one. I think what made that even more amusing was the subtleness of that one. I don't really follow SFMM but I vaguely remember the announcement and building of Apocalypse. And while it did go through a name change I remember reading a TR and being confused how old the ride was, or what ride it was due to its drastically different appearance. cfc 87
I find it amusing that an update about Twisted Colossus had led to a series of posts about Apocalypse.
aCoasterStory 0
I was at the park on Dec. 21st, and I didn't think Apocolypse was at all bad. In fact, it was one of my favorite rides of the day. And I don't tolerate rough woodies very well. It certainly rattled around and shuffled a bit, but compared to Gwazi, it rode like butter.

coasterbill 662
I hate to jump on the bandwagon here and keep piling on but the way people act towards "offensive" content lately is amazingly stupid. It's not just here, it seems to be a cultural thing that comes from a place of amazing self entitlement. First of all, nobody knows what the word "offended" means. People just throw it around like it's nothing and never use it to describe something that's actually offensive. Were you awake at night because of what happened with your feelings hurt? No? The I guess it wasn't that offensive. Were you offended or did you just not like what was said? There's a difference... Second of all it used to be that if you didn't like something you would choose not to participate in it and move on. Now if you don't like something you stand on a soapbox and preach about it and try to change or remove the thing you don't like and ruin it for everyone else. When people are offended by something a public figure says they try to get them fired and demand an apology, when people don't like a word people use they go on a dumb rant about how nobody should use it (remember "Ban Bossy")... this goes on everywhere and it's becoming ridiculous. If you come to a website and don't like the content of the website or the way people act on the website then leave. In the last 24 hours someone didn't like the word filter that everyone else enjoys thoroughly and wants it changed because "THEY want to know what was meant to be said" (like they have some right to see the exact content they want to see on someone else's website) and today someone is threatening to "not upgrade to the account they were totally about to upgrade to... I swear" because they don't like the way the vast majority of the people on the site are acting (and by that I mean everyone else is having fun). Sorry if this is off topic or long winded... and I know I'm just piling on but this whining is becoming more and more prevalent (everywhere, not just here) and it's amazingly annoying. ------- Oh and berryfarm, great pictures. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get out there and ride this coaster when it opens.
