The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I just took a look at the site. While the 2 or more season dining passes are listed for $90/each, the fine print says that they had to be processed at the park by Nov. 2nd. I tried to add two to my cart just to see what would happen, and got the same issue you did. But when you view the deal in the cart, it says they are offering a "4 or more" deal that must be processed by 1/4/15. So it looks like the deal you were looking to get may have ended, and the site hasn't been updated to reflect the new sale where you must buy and process 4 or more season dining passes. I believe that this is also how the regular season passes were set up this year- for the Labor Day Flash sale, you could buy any quantity of 2015 season passes at the discounted price (plus get the free upgrade to Gold plus Hurricane Harbor), but since that sale ended you now have to buy 4 or more season passes to get a discount. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong- I already got my 2015 pass (plus dining) during the flash sale, so I haven't paid much attention to the current sales since then.

I would contact SFMM to see if this is the case (or go to Guest Relations if you're going to the park anytime soon): https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/plan-your-visit/contact-us

Yikes, good catch!!! I will be calling SFMM tomorrow (Monday) and update this thread. As I'll be there on Tuesday and was hoping to purchase this for $90 for 2 of us. Question: when you purchased your dining pass during the flash sale in September, do you remember how much they had the dining pass for? And if that included meals for the rest of the 2014 season AND 2015? Curious

$84.99 and yes

The times Don't get in the way near as often as you'd think. Just go at a time you'd normally be eating lunch or dinner and you will be fine.

Believe him or not, but my step moms OTSR came unlocked on Mantis. Thank God the seatbelt was there. I really don't know how it happened, but I swear it did. I was really shocked as it is a B&M coaster. But all in all, if it has a seatbelt attached to the restraint don't worry. You'll be fine.it was nothing to worry about, I'm pretty positive it was locked again within a few seconds.

Sorry but I don't believe the restraint came unlocked. I've worked a B&M and sometimes if the restraint doesn't quite click into the next lowest ratchet, it can pop back up to the next higher one. People always complain of their restraints coming unlocked but trust me, that is most likely what happened. The restraints on a B&M or any roller coaster really should never unlock during the ride. In the case of your step mom, I'm guessing the restraint popped up a ratchet and then she yanked it back down again and got the full click.

Yes, that's a possibility. It did pop up pretty far if not fully unlocked.

Just got off the phone with SFMM ... first I wanted to say, why is it not a surprise that they have their phone number listed incorrectly on their own website?! It's suppose to be 661-255-4100, NOT 661-255-4400 (https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/plan-your-visit/season-dining-pass-faqs).

Also, buying dining passes on their website does not work. SHOCKER?

Any who, the CSR told me that the dining passes are available at the current prices on the link above until 12/28/2014. If you want to buy it in the meantime (while they fix their website), you can do so at GUEST RELATIONS at the park.

A note for those considering dining at the park--and especially for potential SDP holders. In our 20-plus visits during on and off-peak periods, dining was found to be very hit-or-miss and can be, um, dangerous. Several of the restaurants have a habit of serving cold chicken strips or cold meat. Sometimes they keep those strips under the heat lamp for an hour and still think they're nice and not, but I've had to send them back. Please don't forfeit $10, $11, $12, ..., just for cold food.

Another issue is Johnny Rockets hamburgers. I've twice received cold patties that had apparently been idling near a trash can for a long time. Hamburger should never be served cold but the people behind the counter don't care/have managers that don't care. If you're paying nearly $14 for a hamburger and a few onion rings and you're not absolutely satisfied, you should ask them to start afresh and make sure that meat is piping hot.

Teen Titans Power Pizza always seems to have a fetid odor emanating from its smoke stacks, so please use discretion and at the very least, insist on hot pizza!

Also remember that the SDP is for certain items at certain times of the day and, most certainly, does not include drinks.

Yeah, I'm not surprised at all! This is SFMM after all...

Glad you were at least able to get an answer though!

all of this is VERY good to know, as ive never gotten the SDP before. and since me and my bf go almost every or every other weekend, we figure pricewise its worth it. I had no idea they serve the food cold. I almost ever have that issue when I would actually pay for the food right there, but thanks for letting us potential SDP buyers know. also, its good to know its just a website glitch and we will be buying them at the cyber café instead. I wonder how many other people have run into this problem?

I have gone probably 10 times last year and had the meal deal. I had one negative experience in probably 17 meals (there were a few times I didn't eat both meals). That being said I eat at the normal crowded busy hrs when they are cooking fresh food.

I totally agree. You can get bad food anywhere at anytime. I got the SDP on my 2015 pass and have used it at least 12 meals without incident. I've gone to different restaurants too. It's safe in my book. Just a lot of MM haters on this forum.

I've had about the same experience. No real issues for me.
