iloveblueberries
Whats with the arm guard things on Superman and the green lantern ride? I know the old Superman cars didn't have that, or even shoulder restraints. I don't know, but it was a bit awkward on Superman. I rode on the arm guard seat on Superman once, didn't bug me at all. The Green Lantern guards annoy me.

SFMMGeek27
Was it ever explained what the colored stripes on the yolo loop are for? It's actually a requirement by the State of California for the very rare case that the train gets perfectly stuck at the top of the loop. The red marks dead center and the green is used to tell if the train is more centered to the left or right side of the loop so that they know which way to push the train back down the loop. Remember that crane that sat next to YOLO for almost the whole first year it was open? The State required that crane to be there for that situation and Magic Mointain was paying a large amount of rent for the crane. The only other option to appease the State was to paint the loop like they did. Once they painted the YOLOop that crane was gone FAAAAST!

iloveblueberries
Rode revolution the other day So sick of the otsr's! Enough is enough. If magic mountain could get away with lap bars only on full throttle and twisted colossus and got rid of the crane with a few marks on full throttles loop, why can't they give us new otsr's or something #boycottrevolution

I wasn't serious with my original post, but this made me cringe. You seriously think that magic mountain would answer a boycott on a ride because of it's restraint system by removing the ride!? What kind of ass backwards logic is that? The idea is to improve the service not get rid of it. Especially when the ride is a staple in roller coaster history and makes for a beautiful sight when you enter the park. I can see them removing something like Scream or Green Lantern due to popularity issues. But I can't imagine ANY park removing ANY ride because people are vocal about it's freaking restraint system. I love you.

Without them you could reach the wall in the tunnel. The front row (closest to the hill) with only two seats in the center doesnt have the guards. vedved82491
So I have a question regarding this Gold Pass deal going on. My friend and I are planning a trip to the mountain October 25th and 26th, and we took advantage of the Season Pass/Gold upgrade option on the website. I'm a little confused regarding some of the "fine print" though. The paper that printed out reads "This is your Season Pass Vouches. Exchange for Plastic Card. Instructions Below." Said instructions read the following: "Vouched expired 11/2/14. Present this voucher at the Processing Center ALONG WITH YOUR PROCESSED PASS to add GOLD benefits to your Pass. This voucher alone does not provide a Gold Pass." So I'm confused. Do I first have to take my voucher to get the plastic season pass card and then get back in line to get the Gold upgrade, or what? I didn't have a season pass prior to purchasing the combo deal today. What exactly is the process I have to go through?

The way it works is that you buy your discounted season pass online, print the receipt and head off to the park (tell the parking guy that you'll be upgrading to gold and they'll let you park for free). Go to the turnstile and they'll scan your printout and give you a new card. That card is then scanned again, and apparently, that's the gold upgrade. It's all done in one spot. There's no coupon book, no aplomb, just a plastic card with your name sharpied onto it. The coupons and stuff are online and you can access them once you register your pass. The expiration date you see is the last day to upgrade to gold.

I love you. Um, if ridership goes down, the ride gets removed. That's... that's generally how it works. Nobody is paying to go on the ride, your boycott and whatever reason you have for it would mean nothing to them. The best way to enact change would be to continue riding the ride, and write them emails every time you go, implying that you care about the ride and that you and your kids (it doesn't matter if you have them, lie) hate the restraints so much they're in danger of losing you as a customer. The more emails like this they receive, the more likely they are to listen. Ok, I don't know if this is actually the best strategy, but it's what I'd do anyway. A boycott is the wrong way to grab attention for this situation. The biggest way is if they get a SURGE of people wanting the OSTRs gone, then hopefully they would look at it. A petition could be a good idea, there are more pointless petitions running around lately.

Trust me, Trust me, Trust me Your getting no parking from the parking guy at toll gate until you either pay cash or charge or present your gold parking season pass. Showing your piece of paper is nothing until it has been processed and that covers parking. Your best bet is allow some time and pull into guest pick / up drop / off area and drop a person off and have them go get their gold season pass and come back to car and let that person then go take the car and park it in parking lot while the other person gets their season gold pass and meets you back at a predetermined area. Manic Monte
The best hope for Revolution... Is time. Eventually the park will need new trains, and a new angle in which to market the ride to younger guests (see X2 or Colossus). Only then will we possibly see the changes we hope for Revolution. I have a hunch that this will be sooner rather than later.

Nope, not true. I went through this yesterday and even called ahead to make sure I wouldn't need to do anything like what you outlined. I called and asked to make sure I could get the free parking in order to process my pass (which was confirmed) and then when I pulled up to the booth, the guy simply scanned the printout and sent me on in. Granted, I had to wait 15 minutes with everyone else, but once at the turnstile it was just a few seconds.
