The quote in the picture is -

Don't miss our newsletter on August 28th for a top secret special announcement.

Which probably means in the next newsletter they'll say that there will be an official announcement sometime in September.

I though SF announces all of their rides in August? So I think it would be the same thing as announced this month.

SFMM voted best Theme park

By USA today

Six Flags MM ‏@SFMagicMountain 6m

Thank you for voting us #1 in @usatodaytravel @10Best parks. #thrillcapitaloftheworld pic.twitter.com/OnhKd0mCE6

I agree with this ranking. I didn't vote, but I agree with #1 and #2. I've never been to Dollywood, but I hear it's good. I'd rank Cedar Point a little lower, but that's just my opinion.

Has anybody went to Honda ERT? I was curious on how it worked. Do they give you a "ticket" confirming that you are driving a Honda when you arrive at the parking booth? The website states you just show your Honda key and admission ticket for early entry to the park.

The reason I am asking this is because our family has two cars. The wife typically drives the Honda, and will be unavailable to me this Friday. Can I still get in with only my key, even though I did not arrive in my Honda?

^ What about Sunday?

If you're going Sunday, that's fine, too. But isn't that a private thing only open to Season Passholders? So technically the last "public" ride is Saturday. But yeah, if you're going Sunday, please PM me!

Going through some old Magic Mountain footage and I found this! I think this might be one of my favorite "old school" coaster clips. It's just so cheesy, borderline creepy, and the 80s porno music just makes it AWESOME! Check it out...

This is just my opinion, but I would rather SFMM have kept Colossus in its classic state, with of course some needed updating and refurbishing, and had RMC come in and do an original Wooden Coaster at the Park from scratch rather than a renovation. But none the less, I'm sure the new Colossus will be an amazing experience.

Wow. I remember seeing this video years ago. But can't remember where...

Wasn't it a video you could buy at the park? I think I had it when I was a kid

From the video description on YouTube.

This is some retro Colossus footage including POV shots originally shot for a video called "Go For a Ride" which was sold at Six Flags Magic Mountain as well as several other parks in the mid 1980s.

That video kinda reminds me of a video I had (have?) from the early to mid 90's called "Here Comes a Roller Coaster". It started out as the host taking a nap in his office then waking up going down the first drop of Colossus (it's all in a dream sequence). Such an awesome video and I hope to find it again.

I still have this VHS, and it's BEAUTIFUL. So cheesy and bad. Is there a way one can digitize VHS tapes? Maybe I can put it on YouTube,

Yes, with the right equipment (which isn't expensive) it's quite easy. The way I usually do it is with a dvd/vhs combo vcr - dub the vhs to a dvd-rw, copy to pc, upload, erase dvd-rw, repeat.
