^ Normally you can choose anywhere you want to sit. Sometimes when busy they will dictate which side of the train you are on and/or what row you are in, but you can always choose inside or outside seat (assuming you fit in an inside seat).

Thanks for the info. But, how often do they dictate where you sit. Like in percentage of how many times you went

When I use to get "loaned" to X2 and worked "bounce" I let the guest choose which row they would like. Most didn't know the front row from the back so that was always a chuckle. Sort of same working the "split" area I let the guests in front of that area decide if they wanted to stand in the sun or the shade and they were deciding for about the next 40 people behind them. But I was easy and it wasn't my regular work zone so I did wheat the guests wanted.

No don't even ask me to watch you green drink cup. I know you paid about $15 bucks for it. And if you lay it in front of the lockers and its gone when you return oh well as I sure aint watching your crap when you lay it directly in front of the damm lockers!

Anyone in the park tonight? I was thinking about going, but wanted to get a feel of how the wait times were right now.

Thanks

We went there until about 10:10 . it was epic epic epic epic epic epic very nice crowd. wait times unkn as all we did was the Hypnotist show with Suzy Haner (Her son is in rock group AV7) and Orient Express to watch the scare zone on Samurai Summit. Ricky Rocks sounded great and had huge crowd there in front of full throttle. Going back tomorrow for mazes when crowd will be 1/3 the size of Saturday and another good date will be the 24th I bet as park is only open 4-midnight and i think not crowded at all.

Someone just shared their story about going to the Key Club North Rally at SFDK last week so I thought I'd pop in here and post a reminder/PSA that the Key Club South Rally is Saturday 11/9. If you're planning to visit the park this day you may want to change your plans, this will as usual be by far the busiest day of the year. If you can't change your plans, pony up for the platinum flash pass and buy it asap. Expect overflow parking and ridiculous lines for everything. I heard at SFDK they even ran out of beer!

I went last night to Fright Fest for the first time, and I came away relatively impressed (by Six Flags standards). There were two or three "bad" mazes, and the rest varied from okay to awesome. My whole group thought Willoughby's was easily the best maze out of all of them (the special effects!).

We decided to get the express maze pass, and boy was it totally worth it. It was a crowded night, so there were very long lines for the mazes. With the express pass, we never waited more than 5 minutes for any of the mazes, with the high end being 5 minutes for Willoughby's. I would high recommend the pass for next year.

The scare zones weren't bad at all, although one or two felt like there should have been more monsters walking around. The ones on stilts near Tatsu are around the park were awesome.

Overall, I came away impressed with the park for once.

Oh, and we left at 11:00 (long before closing) and on the way out saw one of the longest lines I've seen for funnel cakes. I couldn't imagine the line at closing...

sure is slow in here right now...

Anyone going to the park on Sunday? I plan to to get my new gold pass for next year. I went last Sunday and wondering how dead it will be. I'm not thinking it will be dead but it should be slow and for sure alot slower than Fright Fest.

It could be interesting day for Season Passes as its the "final day" to activate for the Gold Upgrade and per the SFMM web site it must be done prior to 5pm Sunday. Today (Fri) would have been perfect day as park was open for "Home school Day" and Season Pass office was open and line was non issue. Good luck Sunday and might want to bring a book for wait in line.

How will crowds be on Saturday the 9th? I looked and there aren't any special events going on.

Seems to be a legend or myth of the crowds for Key Club day. Its one on the best times to go as most are to busy doing cheers and are to wimpy to ride rides. Its the strangest crowd of the year and the longest lines are in Bugs Bunny World. Don't forget Cyber Cafe offers FREE Wi-Fi so flip your phone to that when in the area and up load your photos from there.

Don't underestimate Key Club day, its the busiest day of the year. During the actual rally lines might be a little shorter than the rest of the day, but the whole day overall is by far the busiest of the year. For some reason they never list it on the SFMM Events Page. If you can go any other day, do it. If you can't, buy a flash pass in advance. If you dig through this thread there are some photos and TRs from the last couple years' rallies.

Second post down on this page describes this years' rally up north: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=579&start=3440

^ Is that only for Key Club Day? I always hear that Cyber Cafe offers free Wi-Fi but everytime I go and search for a network, nothing shows up.
its there but the signal is really bad
On that particular day it might suffer due to the amount of people using it (similar to how its hard to get a signal at a football/baseball stadium)

^It's not listed on the events page because not everyone can participate like with the Jubilee and Fright Fest.

As a former participant, I agree it is best to avoid the park on that day!

Is the large fake tree really going away?

Yes, it's being removed sometime this week or the next

Bummer. It's my favorite "theming" at SFMM. I'd rather see them repair the fake tree and put up an exhibit about Giant Sequoia trees (which really do get that wide), but they wouldn't make any money from doing that.
