Can you describe the roughness on x2

Is it like old wooden coaster rough or is it like minor jolts and bounces here and there

It's not like a wooden coaster at all. A wooden coaster typically is rough from side to side, while X2's roughness is typically headbanging. It's not very bad and can be quite tolerable once you go on it a few times.

I don't get headbanging, usually leg smashing, which can be pretty bad unless you're on the inside seat.

Wha do you mean by leg smashing. I think I know but just want to make sure.

At least for me, my legs bounce up and down and then slam on the seat, which have some padding, sometimes it's painful and others not so much.

Went to Fright Fest yesterday and was very impressed in many ways with how the park was operating. I didn't go through any of the mazes.

At around 8:00, there were still people pouring into the park both buying tickets at the front gate and paying for parking (which incidentally has gone up to an impressive $20). I don't think I've seen so many people heading in at such a late hour, but I think them extending their park hours to 1am has really helped pick up more late night business.

Green Lantern was running so slowly (I had some out of state friends visiting with me and they wanted to ride it, so they went on while I waited). They were only running three out of five cars and were dispatching at mind-numbingly slow intervals. I doubt they were even hitting 200 riders per hour.

Since Riddler's is the only ride I truly care about, they finally replaced that facade in the front near the entrance. Previously it was peeling and large chunks of it were missing. I was very surprised! Nice work SFMM.

It's always a mixed bag with X2. But luckily I've been getting very enjoyable rides from it.

Something that I don't really see credited is also the little pop of floating airtime you get from exiting the banked turn when riding on the right (the inside wing of the turn) due to the seat rapidly rising up. I don't know if you get the same floater on left side since I've always fate seems intent on putting me on the same side. But then again it could be the result of my light weight.

What happens exactly is on one of the raven turns (I believe it's the second one) the forces from the first half of the turn send your legs out away from the car (so they're straight) and then the second half of the turn forces your legs to come back abruptly and your calves slam against the car. The forces are so strong that I have not been able to prevent it no matter how I try to hold my legs. Some ankle restraints like Tatsu has would be perfect.

Supposedly it doesnt do this as much when you ride on the inside, and even less so if you have a heavy person on the outside, but every time I've ridden it in the last few years I end up being on the outside with no one on the inside which is the worst way to ride. A lot of the restraints on the inside are broken and don't go up high enough for us taller folks.

Oh and do they let you choose what car of the train you sit in?

^ Normally you can choose anywhere you want to sit. Sometimes when busy they will dictate which side of the train you are on and/or what row you are in, but you can always choose inside or outside seat (assuming you fit in an inside seat).

Thanks for the info. But, how often do they dictate where you sit. Like in percentage of how many times you went

When we went, either when or when it was not busy, they didn't force us to a side but they forced us to go into a certain row and held back people from the station platform. Because of the holding back, I would say, I don't think they let us stay on like most rides on Six Flags, BUT that may just be my imagination. I really wish I got to ride it more than twice during my trip.

It just depends on how busy they are. The longer the que, the more they control to try and get the folks on faster.

When I use to get "loaned" to X2 and worked "bounce" I let the guest choose which row they would like. Most didn't know the front row from the back so that was always a chuckle. Sort of same working the "split" area I let the guests in front of that area decide if they wanted to stand in the sun or the shade and they were deciding for about the next 40 people behind them. But I was easy and it wasn't my regular work zone so I did wheat the guests wanted.

No don't even ask me to watch you green drink cup. I know you paid about $15 bucks for it. And if you lay it in front of the lockers and its gone when you return oh well as I sure aint watching your crap when you lay it directly in front of the damm lockers!

Anyone in the park tonight? I was thinking about going, but wanted to get a feel of how the wait times were right now.

Thanks

We went there until about 10:10 . it was epic epic epic epic epic epic very nice crowd. wait times unkn as all we did was the Hypnotist show with Suzy Haner (Her son is in rock group AV7) and Orient Express to watch the scare zone on Samurai Summit. Ricky Rocks sounded great and had huge crowd there in front of full throttle. Going back tomorrow for mazes when crowd will be 1/3 the size of Saturday and another good date will be the 24th I bet as park is only open 4-midnight and i think not crowded at all.

Someone just shared their story about going to the Key Club North Rally at SFDK last week so I thought I'd pop in here and post a reminder/PSA that the Key Club South Rally is Saturday 11/9. If you're planning to visit the park this day you may want to change your plans, this will as usual be by far the busiest day of the year. If you can't change your plans, pony up for the platinum flash pass and buy it asap. Expect overflow parking and ridiculous lines for everything. I heard at SFDK they even ran out of beer!

I went last night to Fright Fest for the first time, and I came away relatively impressed (by Six Flags standards). There were two or three "bad" mazes, and the rest varied from okay to awesome. My whole group thought Willoughby's was easily the best maze out of all of them (the special effects!).

We decided to get the express maze pass, and boy was it totally worth it. It was a crowded night, so there were very long lines for the mazes. With the express pass, we never waited more than 5 minutes for any of the mazes, with the high end being 5 minutes for Willoughby's. I would high recommend the pass for next year.

The scare zones weren't bad at all, although one or two felt like there should have been more monsters walking around. The ones on stilts near Tatsu are around the park were awesome.

Overall, I came away impressed with the park for once.

Oh, and we left at 11:00 (long before closing) and on the way out saw one of the longest lines I've seen for funnel cakes. I couldn't imagine the line at closing...

sure is slow in here right now...

Anyone going to the park on Sunday? I plan to to get my new gold pass for next year. I went last Sunday and wondering how dead it will be. I'm not thinking it will be dead but it should be slow and for sure alot slower than Fright Fest.

It could be interesting day for Season Passes as its the "final day" to activate for the Gold Upgrade and per the SFMM web site it must be done prior to 5pm Sunday. Today (Fri) would have been perfect day as park was open for "Home school Day" and Season Pass office was open and line was non issue. Good luck Sunday and might want to bring a book for wait in line.
