boardwalkbullet91507
It's nice to see Full Throttle construction coming along. I think it's going to look great in that section of the park. I too like the color scheme. It's simplistic but compliments that area well.
cal1br3tto
Yeah, I like the colors, too. Also, I'll admit I don't know if there's an actual coaster that's "lime mixed with red," but it sure sounds vomit-inducing.
Angry_Gumball
YOLO's looking pretty good! I can only imagine how it will look when I head down that way in April (Here's to hoping that SEFK will be accessible by then, dying to try out the reversed trains...hoping it will change my thoughts on that ride!). I still wish that the log ride was able to continue to live but what can you do? What's done is done. At least there's still the flume in the back to ride! Guy T. Koepp
I love The Offspring. If it wern't for them and the Surf Punks, I might not have made it through college.
cmullin
Is Superman ever open?? Â Yes, but just not recently with all of the construction going on around it. First with the new paint and turning the trains around, then Lex Luther forced it to shut down during that construction, and now finally Full Throttle is forcing it to close for a while, but it should be open the whole summer once they complete the YOLOcoaster construction. ItsHowIRollercoaster
I guess I'll throw in my pics! Seeing the supports for the first time! This one's for the bucket enthusiasts! TAKE THE TUNNEL!! This one's my personal favorite! This and the next one are very similar but I couldn't choose just one of them. Enhance. ENHANCE!!
Guy T. Koepp
I love the Homer's All Purpose Bucket photo. That also helps to prove that the construction crew just came in from Cedar Point. If they had hired locals, Homer's Bucket would have been Juan's Bucket.

coasterbear30
Is Superman ever open?? Â Yup, rode both sides of it the first Friday in October. Seeing the comments on here makes me believe that this is a rare occurance.

RandallDuell
Excellent photo updates, thanks to those who took the time! Â Anyone else curious why they wouldn't have power washed the heck out of that tunnel wall PRIOR to track going in? I mean maybe they're just going to be mounting some plastic walls or something to the concrete (possible lighting/attempt at a theme?), but it still seems like they had plenty of time to send a couple of dudes in there to clean it down first. Â Anyway, love the colors and amazed at how close that clearance is from the track to the old red/black fence!
Double0Kevin
^ Construction has a tendency to kick up dirt and make things messy. Cleaning stuff up usually is the last step. Why spent the time and money to clean something that will just need to be cleaned later?

Crazy4Coasters!
Seeing some of these pictures reminds me a lot of 'Speed: The Ride' when it was at the Sahara. (Especially the ones that have the track coming out of the tunnel.) Â I'm really glad to see the track getting installed, and I hope we don't have to wait too long for it to open... Not holding my breathe though!
thrillseeker4552
You know, ever since YOLOcoaster was announced, people have complained about it for several reasons, but now that vertical construction has started and track has been installed, I think it will be a pretty awesome coaster! Simple yet unique at the same time. I'm not sure you can really call it "complaining", its more like this: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Â Haha, I guess you're right. Â And I'm hoping to head down there sometime soon. Hopefully before the spring break crowds. I'll make sure to grab some photos. Hopefully by then the Superman plaza will be open with the track overhead. It will make some great photo opportunities of the dive loop!
JJ728
I love the Homer's All Purpose Bucket photo. Same! Â Like who was the one who took one for the team and did a Home Depot run to pick up twenty "all purpose buckets"??

Why spent the time and money to clean something that will just need to be cleaned later? Â Â Fair point, but that wall is in need of heavy power wash for the decades of dirt/mildew -- all the dirt/dust kicked up during construction would then be easily hosed off. Â But hey, guess it really doesn't matter if they end up covering it with some sort of themes skin!

gisco
Things are moving along well. I can't wait to see what it is like going into the tunnel.
harper83087
I haven't been overly excited about this thing until now. The track going vertical is helping my excitement, but I was sold with the interaction with the superman plaza. I see lots of good photos in the future. cmullin
I agree the tunnel looks pretty gross, but I'm sure that they will clean it off before it opens. Hopefully there will be some nice theming going into the tunnel The start of construction has really kicked back up my excitement for it, I had kinda lost interest in it over the months, but now it is back! WFChris
It's going to be a pretty quick stop in that tunnel. This small amount of track is already showing how potentially crazy this ride will be. Â Does anybody suspect that SFMM will remove the reverse launch after a few years and just have it launch again in the tunnel without stopping? Maybe a cost saving measure, or a wear and tear type issue? Â I don't think any of us doubted that the ride itself will be fun, I just think we have all been hoping for a full length coaster to be added, since there hasn't been one in a long time. Lex Luthor, Apocalypse, Superman, X2 and Deja Vu are all (or at least feel like) relatively short rides, and now YOLO will be as well
Manic Monte
I feel like the last 4-5 years this park has been trying to strike a weird balance between trying to please their core audience with thrill rides, while also making sure to add rides that give them a quicker return on investment ( Apocalypse, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor and now FT). Â It's a strategy that unfortunately seems to be working for them.

Maybe a cost saving measure, or a wear and tear type issue? Â Yes. Â It would use a lot less electricity if they did this. Â It would be interesting to know how many kilowatt hours each dispatch uses. Â The Premier ride at SFDK needs the "back and forth" launch to get to the top of the track. My guess is F T would clear the final hill if the braking was not used in the tunnel and the tunnel launch merely accelerated the already moving train to full speed. The marketers could call this a "new ride experience" once the initial hype is over. Â The backwards launch looks like it will have some serious hang time in the back seat going up the dive loop.
