coasternut
I was at the mountain today. Not too bad of a day with most rides (except Riddler) running 2 trains. Much to my surprise, lots of work on F.T. That closed Superman (closed for sometime now, but they've ripped up the concrete by the Superman circle near it's entrance), Gold Rusher, and the path up to Samurai Summit from in front of Gold Rusher. I noticed the concrete work from the Sky Tower. I would've thought they'd wait until next week when the park returns to weekend only operation. I'm guessing they just realized, they way behind schedule. Big surprise there...
Chrisrad
Ripped up the concrete? Â I'm thinking tunnel-related. Â Interesting!!
Wes
^ Probably for the footers they have to put in that area.
Sir Clinksalot
Funny that they just repainted that Superman Logo not even 2 years ago and they already ripped it up. Oh well, it was fading already anyway. Â I agree with footers for the tunnel section, and probably some reinforcement of the tunnel as well. Wes
^ If you watch the concept video, there is a footer in the plaza.
Sir Clinksalot
^ That's right, for when it goes over that part. Forgot about that. LOL.
coasternut
They were dropping circular ribar into the 2 cut out areas on Superman plaza. These are obviously for support columns.
AnonymousReed
New Full Throttle Update:The Coaster Guy  I'm going to start providing some construction reports myself as soon as I get my pass renewed.
azza29
I haven't seen an official announcement on this but according to another Coaster Guy update the Gold Pass early entry perk gets you in 10 minutes prior to park opening, and rides will be ready to go. So depending on the number of gold passholders at the park on any given day it could mean a nice short wait for X2 or Tatsu.
robbalvey
SFMMGeek27 sent in a few YOLOcoaster construction pics from today. Have a look... If you've got the "gold" you're cool enough to go past this sign. Apparently, not that many people have the gold... Turns out YOLOcoaster will be the first ever launched, looping rebarcoaster! Just kidding, these are actually for a new attraction themed to "Watts Towers" (Google it, kids) We get a birds eye view of trucks and machines penetrating the earth. Sexy. There once was a log flume here, and now it's just mush. "Whoops, we accidentally left a piece of yellow track..." This is Six Flags Magic Mountain...in case you forgot what thread you were in. One day, thousands of people will be shrieking up this hill.. "YOLO!!! YOLO!!!" I look forward to that day... Holy crap! How full is that queue for Termaplypse?!?!? Yup, it's Arrow corner... This is what we call the "Tree photo." Hooray! Six Flags Magic Mountain's latest attraction! Straight from the carnival department! I was in e line this morning and got in at 10:20 sharp. 3 people there scanning passes. Pretty awesome. Not too many Gold holders, either. Maybe 100 people. But everyone got in quickly. I was over at Goliath at 10:25 and I was able to get on while all the regular guests were still outside park gates! It's a good head start. dippindotsguy8
Wow, I never noticed how incredibly in need of a new paint job tatsu is until now! Â Haven't you heard the rumors? They're supposedly going to paint it a new color, turn the trains backwards, and market it as a new ride for 2014! Â Â But all jokes aside, I agree, it's looking faded. historyfreak92
Woooooow! I'm glad to see it finally starting! Â I hope that California will still be a good state with Amusement Parks!

IronWolfman
I think a nice repaint for Viper (back to it's original red-orange color) would help, too.

Chrisrad
How did a construction update turn into a paint discussion? Â By the looks of the parking lot (less than half full?), I'm a bit surprised at Apocalypse's line - maybe people feel that it's safe to ride the end of the world coaster now that we're all still here? Â Great update on the construction though - I'm actually starting to get excited about the new ride.
jray21
Thanks for the update. I like watching the progress on rides like this. Can't wait to see everything come together.

All the rides had decent lines! Tatsu had almost a full queue, X2 was an hour all day, Colossus had a rather long line as well. It didn't help that Lex Luthor didn't open until 4:30 due to high wind and Superman and Gold Rusher being closed as well. I'm guessing that there were a lot of drop-offs today. There were lots of teens. And yes, I did hear one yelling "YOLO" (no joke!)
cfc
Good to see rebar on the site. Rides need more rebar! It's high in fiber! (Or am I confusing rebar with Fibercon?) Â Thanks for the update. I like Premier launched coasters, and I hope Full Throttle turns out well (and that the people of Yolo County appreciate Six Flags using them in their marketing campaign). rcjp
Well, it's good to see that they are actually making some progress on the YOLOcoaster. Still, not that much when compared to gatekeeper.

They're keeping a really good pace! At this rate, we should see the first piece of track be placed in a few months.
