I just saw some workers talking and funky looking stuff, nothing picture worthy so I just figured it was interesting

 

Really?!

 

You start an ebolaesque frenzy with the statement, "Interesting stuff going on at TC's construction. " And respond with, "I just saw some workers talking and funky looking stuff, nothing picture worthy so I just figured it was interesting."

 

Seriously?!

 

Generally one would follow the statement, "Interesting stuff going on at TC's construction. ," with say... ...pictures of the workers installing glory holes to each individual seat of the ride vehicle.

 

That I would find as, "Interesting stuff going on at TC's construction. "

To be honest, there are few rides at SFMM where I find it makes that much of a difference where you sit (unlike Scandia Screamer, which I just rode last night). With that said, I like:

 

Apocalypse — Back as you'll get launched on the first drop, but the front provides a good "push" effect into some of the smaller hills.

Viper — Back for a good whip off the lift, but front for a little bit of air after the loops.

YOLOcoaster — Anywhere, for me, but I find the middle get's the best of everything that this ride has to offer (the loop, essentially).

X2 — Front (which looks like the back in the station) for the excellent hangtime before the beatdown begins.

Tatsu — Back for a good dropping sensation into the pretzel loop, but all the seats suck on this if you ask me.

Goliath — Back for the first whiplash, but the front seat-view on this one is really good.

Ninja — Front, otherwise you don't see much.

Batman — Same as above.

Riddler — Same as above.

Superman — Doesn't really matter, but the arm-shield things on the sides are a bit awkward. Back seat doesn't have them.

Green Lantern — I'd agree with the park bench suggestion. It's that bad.

Revolution — Doesn't matter. It's going to hurt wherever you sit.

Scream — Doesn't seem to matter.

I much prefer the back row on YOLO for the excellent reverse hang time. I like the front row on Tatsu because I find the forces the same no matter where you sit and at least you get that spectacular view from the top of the mountain when you're in front. If you've never ridden Green Lantern or another ZacSpin and you don't consider yourself abnormally tall or short, then ride it at least once and see what you think. A lot of people find it very uncomfortable, but for some like me its not uncomfortable at all and I absolutely love it.

Hi guys!

 

I'm super excited that I'm finally going to the park this Sunday, but I wanted to know what are the seats I can´t miss.

 

I´ve heard that the last row in Goliath is the best, but I don´t actually know, neither with the other coasters. Can somebody help me?

It's all up to personal preference, but my recommendations are...

 

Apocalypse: Back (at night if possible)

Batman The Ride: Front or Back (ride twice if possible)

Canyon Blaster: Wherever won't disappoint a kid

Full Throttle: Back

Gold Rusher: Anywhere in the front half

Goliath: Front (no airtime on drop, but more airtime on the floater hill and a slight benefit from the midcourse brakes)

Green Lantern: Doesn't matter

Ninja: Front

Revolution: Everywhere's about the same, but you can brace better in the front

Riddler's Revenge: Front

Road Runner Express: Same as Canyon Blaster

Scream: Front

Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers: Doesn't matter

Superman: Doesn't matter, but the front usually has the shortest wait

Tatsu: Front

Viper: Front

X2: Front for smoothest ride, Back for smoothest rotation (ride twice if possible)

The ride is far more braked now than when it first opened with the mid-course being necessary due to that helix, but it does seem like it almost stops you at the crest of the first drop now. Still, I think it's one of the best drops I've been on—far better than something like Skyrush which, to me, was little more than a violent slamming sensation.

 

I might head over there on Saturday as I haven't checked out Fright Fest yet.

 

It's going to be SUPER crowded on Saturday (if the previous Saturdays were any indication.

 

re: Goliath .... that mid-ride block brake completely kills the Goliath experience for me.... they really need to reconfigure that ride somehow .... it's even worse than the brakes on the downside of the top hat on YOLO ... REALLY destroys that element for me :/

 

Goliath could also use an overbanked turn coming up from the drop too /rant over lol

a lil' OT...

 

Does anyone know why Tatsu doesn't have a secondary restraint mechanism (like a belt clipped onto the harness)? Obviously nothing will happen (right? LOLOL), but it seems weird that the bolt goes into the steel slabs in the armrests, and that's it :O Does anyone have very specific details on how these B&M flyer restraints work? the only part about Tatsu that freaks me out [not enough to not ride it of course, lol]

^The seat belts are more for measuring if a large guests fits...they're not actually the failsafe mechanism.

 

On B&M flyers the lapbar & OTSR portion both have ratchets, so something would have to go incredibly wrong for you to fall out.

^Right. If the seatbelts are made for size, my only question is of why they would not try another technique, like a seatbelt that clips on to the lap bar. Some of the older premier coasters have this. This sounds like it would be easier to check, and would still measure if it could lower far enough. I guess the issue is probably more with waste size itself than lowering the lap bar.

I might head over there on Saturday as I haven't checked out Fright Fest yet.

 

Saturday is busy, as at least one other has said...have a look here. The park will be less busy on Sunday evening (which is the last day for Fright Fest).

 

 

Actually, Saturday is the last day. I might head down there Saturday. It hopefully won't be too busy, considering it's after Halloween. Let's hope that most people don't know that it is still Fright Fest.

That was my thinking as well—people might be going to parties and stuff that night or might think it's over. Who knows? I might go . . . we'll see.

during november, are saturdays any less crowded, since fright fest will be over with?

 

Since most of them are still holiday weekends, they tend to be quite busy. If you go on a Saturday during the offseason that isn't a holiday period, however, they're usually not bad. Granted, the park isn't dead, but as long as it's not a holiday and there isn't any special event or promotion going on you probably won't see lines longer than 30 minutes.

Not that this really matters right now, but I noticed when I rode Viper this past weekend that the trims after the first loop weren't activated and the trains were flying through the course. Was a nice change!

 

 

Also Riddler was running incredibly smooth compared to the normal slight headbanging.

I believe that the flyers don't need the seatbelt because the PLC is able to check whether or not it is locked. Older B&M's don't do that.

This is what I was thinking (hoping) too. We're gonna get our 2015 passes and possibly do Fright Fest as well.
