coasterchitchat Posted October 18, 2014 Share Posted October 18, 2014 something else i'm really curious about are all the trees that have been hacked down. there are so many that have been cut. does give me hope that a lot will change and not just some new paint, reopen the ice cream/food place and a kiosk with some colossus merchandise. That's just gonna be it. This is Six Flags Magic Mountain, where they're too cheap to do anything besides paint Scream and not add in new trees. There might be a friction brake to stop the train completely and then the chain starts moving. Using movable magnetic brakes to slow down the train to a very low speed that synchronous the chain's speed, lower the magnetic brake fins, then the chain starts moving faster. I think this can at keep the trains apart even though they are on the same chain lift. When the train in the back is entering the second lift, the chain slows down (or stope for a while) to avoid the "Vliegende Hollander effect". The sensors will make sure the second train on the second lift and the train on the first lift duels. Movable magnetic brake sounds more like something Gerstlauer or Intamin would do, so I guess RMC is going to use friction brakes if the second lift is like what I described. The second lift is going to have a lot of wear and tear and SFMM's operation needs to be much faster than they currently is to make this system work. I don't want to wait and see what the engineers did when they starts testing the ride, I want to have a million guesses and see which of my thoughts are the same as the engineer's. Plus, what is there to discuss if everyone just keep waiting for the testing? Personally, Im more concerned with how sfmm plans to "precisely" roll trains out consistently every 110 seconds. Thats less then 2 minutes!!! I still think Wicked Cyclone looks better, but nonetheless, TC will still be an incredible RMC. Why do I have to live 2,000 miles away from it? Programming a ride isn't the same business. Recently, RMC called Irvine Ondrey Engineering to do so, but as they say on their Facebook, SF projects are in-house.
