UK Photo TR: Derek's version

Recommended Posts

I took over 1800 photos of the entire trip, over 100 photos a day. I've selected the best for either quality or random story to share. I figure others will cover similar stuff.

Before the trip officially started, a few of us headed up to Skegness. I'll leave those photos for someone else to post, as the weather wasn't really photogenic. The following day, was the Legoland pre-trip add-on. It was my first Legoland, and was really worth the amount of time we spent there. It could have just been a credit run, but there is so much theming in the park that I didn't even notice some things until I went back and looked at my pictures.

But he was probably just happy to be on top

Not sure what this guy was advertising

UKday2113.jpg.a87626a339f989c6d3a98aa8b54c47a2.jpg

And we took in a football game, complete with streaker

I found a bar!

Miniland London was really cool, with working parts and everything

Looks like Nicole gets to see the London Eye after all

Hey Barry, do you know whose hair this is? :)

UKday243.jpg.b26ad94f6cb9f4f49feee6c6c485271f.jpg

I grabbed a Magnum Double Caramel, as they were really hard to find this time around

UKday239.jpg.26897b6ee4ae05b9158f46af99c94ecb.jpg

Lego theming is everywhere, even in the fish tanks

UKday234.jpg.fc68b2e8bebdfe22e9a0119949c3b575.jpg

Cameron didn't mind though

UKday230.jpg.ab4acabd7b23ada01fa061c4822a806f.jpg

Dan was not too pleased though when he agreed to ride the Aquazone ride

UKday225.jpg.418edd80bb122b7cbe5cd797ebed3e0c.jpg

Jungle Coaster had little theming, but what it did have was pretty entertaining. The beer gods were pleased

UKday213.jpg.9da693fb7325329e269d77649cdeffff.jpg

Dragon's Apprentice was a pretty cool little kiddie coaster

UKday208.jpg.eed71e387bde942137c4cff616bb0abc.jpg

I had to pee after looking at this lego statue

I'm a dragon, gimme some peasants!

UKday206.jpg.067f1477d7c7068d687d20e7e65ef537.jpg

I'm not sure if Will is trying to film the coaster or if he's making a documentary on Robb

UKday205.jpg.44799418baeb923fcadc7f99d0b4658e.jpg

This be taller than Disneyland's fer sure

UKday203.jpg.d0d9459a7e052fdb40b1c6a3910e8f82.jpg

Lots of cool theming, like these Easter Island dudes

Here we are at Legoland, the most popular thing in Windsor (at least to coaster enthusiasts)

IS THAT EVER HAIR???? It looks like a dead bush or something! Nice pictures Derek, Lego land looks like a pretty cool place, you have to give props to the guys that had to put those statues and buildings together though, I would have gotten frustrated and kicked them all over if I had to do that!

Awesome photos!

I wish I had most of those scenes in my backyard for the grandkids to play in (and charge them a fee of course..lol)

Looks like the weather is holding out there fairly well. Is it hot/humid?

The first official day of the trip was to Chessington World of Adventures. I'd been here before, back in 2002, but new to me was Dragon's Fury, as well as taking in a lot more of the park. Last time we were here was during a really crowded school day. Fortunately, this time it was a bit less crowded.

UKday3095.jpg.2838c8860dd42fdeab428af91645295f.jpg

The log flume was nice and didn't get you too wet

UKday3094.jpg.10142d9342180a9a28fe7b477054fe70.jpg

Dragon's Fury even had an animatronic entrance dude who told you either ride the coaster or be fed to some hungry marsupials

UKday3089.jpg.1881c98f02b5c1f1a4a94032e0d9b156.jpg

Finally we found the monorail, after walking around the park twice and walking up and down like 9 flights of stairs

Our surprise from Robb and Elissa was a stop at Coney Beach on the way to our hotel in Wales. Even I didn't know we'd be going here, so it was a nice little bonus 2 credits and memories to last a lifetime.

UKday3pt228.jpg.3e1f2aebe5cf3908f488797aa0e8b939.jpg

Dan was hoping this would send him into an Insulin coma and he'd wake up when we got to a good park.

You know the place is bad when Dan doesn't even feel obligated to go into private to shoot up

like Mega Blitz, a not too painful Pinfari...until the final brakes

The next day would find us at a good park with a great new coaster, Speed: No Limits, a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. Definitely the best new for 2006 coaster in England.

TPRUK06110615.jpg.b9650b2f0c07fbb7b0bdeb67614cf1af.jpg

Did I mention Speed has some vertical stuff, like this loop!?

TPRUK06110660.jpg.924f81016469b6e80597981a9e7f1316.jpg

We wanted to ride this, but didn't feel like being wet for the 4 hour drive to Alton

mmm, and a vertical slide. Is there nothing this park doesn't do vertical??

Next up was a day at Alton Towers, one of the most well known parks in England. Its a really odd park, but is really cool, and is freaking HUGE.

TPRUKday5104.jpg.f742c8c08edcf90daf3fc3935ac3bc84.jpg

Nemesis makes us go "teehee"

TPRUKday5098.jpg.c52fd6c2f111d895f3525ce79e7fe866.jpg

And its got my favorite inversion stuck in the middle of it

TPRUKday5090.jpg.c71acab376a1c4851c36365f4c366dc5.jpg

With a layout really twisted and a really unique setting, its just awesome

TPRUKday5144.jpg.e9caa54cddbd6ced40423b6217d96a7b.jpg

This ride stole all the forces that Silver Bullet, Talon, Patriot, Nemesis Inferno, and Great Bear were supposed to have

TPRUKday5129.jpg.69ce356d6a762ab5f4664d3520e338e9.jpg

But here's the reason I love Alton so much, Nemesis!

TPRUKday5114.jpg.baa5537e3eeedc7a674fd1d5d75bde12.jpg

I found more than just pink and purple in the gardens. Here's a hint of yellow too!

Though lying on your back is just odd and pointless

UKday6002.jpg.1cf4fca29c3aa808bfb09a2e55dc86ec.jpg

and its fun, not too extreme

TPRUKday5085.jpg.bef87aab2563726cc3bc10689c7420ec.jpg

Air, not one of my favorite rides, but at least you don't have to hang for 10 minutes while the other train is dispatched like at SFGAm and SFGAd

TPRUKday5083.jpg.749d01af26dff505b5fe21ab1bb9ef6b.jpg

The haunted house was redone into a shooting darkride. It was really good

TPRUKday5082.jpg.2d6dd91d4b91df00bff218717947744c.jpg

I may not count powered coasters, but I'll still ride them. And this one was sweet

TPRUKday5076.jpg.d1fd473d05116f139a2cf16bc5c34811.jpg

The RCT rapids didn't get you very wet

Spinball Whizzer was another spinning coaster, but wasn't as cool as Dragon's Fury

TPRUKday5055.jpg.d9465835b23fdf608661cd2e7851e221.jpg

But it was fun and only beat up Elissa

TPRUKday5007.jpg.478fff4be9e20f18a6c7ca2ac2e96804.jpg

The centerpiece of the park is a real live old castle which can hold like 23 Disneyland Castles

TPRUKday5001.jpg.79635ebcb1112f6b9df8ce49392cb573.jpg

Our hotel, Splash Landings had an indoor waterpark that was opened for like 9 minutes a day

I said my first photo would be of something "flowery and stupid" so here's James! =)

The next day was spent at Drayton Manor after some morning ERT at Alton on Air and Nemesis. I don't know if it was the lack of ERT at Drayton, the rain, or the new management, but the park seemed to really be different than last time, and not in a good way. I had a much better time back in 2002, but rode less and was stuck in the park with loads of school kids. This time the park was empty, we rode pretty much everything in the park, and still didn't really feel like we were having a lot of fun.

After Drayton Manor, the next day had a few hours at Southport before heading back to Blackpool. I was really looking forward to Southport, since it was so cool the last time I was there. Of course, a lot has changed in 4 years; the flying scooters were in pieces, the ghost train didn't spin anymore, the helter skelter slide and wacky indoor whip-like ride were removed, and 2 coasters were closed. The wheel in the funhouse was still there though, and I'm sure it was great, but I didn't wear socks that day, so I couldn't partake.

UKday7086.jpg.3f156c8c7aec73d1c2d23a75ee894069.jpg

With 2 credits closed and little crowds, we devoured this park and still had time to go bowling

UKday7043.jpg.ff55d8afbf23d7000eff11afc7e41e22.jpg

The Traumatizer was also closed. Too bad?

The park had a few dark rides. Too bad the Ghost Train didn't spin anymore, and the haunted swing was closed

UKday7030.jpg.6a743a0c2684063b29b4c7ff31dcd6fa.jpg

Looks like the lift was constructed by old Lazy Eye

UKday7025.jpg.864e8e585294d1947b8cf90253a8ad96.jpg

Cyclone also gave us some ERT. Too bad it was running kinda sluggish

Guess we won't be riding any flyers today

After Southport, we headed back to Blackpool for some ERT on Big Dipper. After that was a credit run to South Pier for some people, where I finally experienced the evil super spinning Waltzer there. Riding when we did worked to our benefit, Nicole and I were the only ones on the ride and the ride ops were double teaming our tub, spinning it at unbelievable speeds. It was the most insane spinning ever, and my neck really hurt.

The following day would take us back to Blackpool, a park I still can't seem to get enough of. Its so classic and historical, with ride upon ride upon ride. I pitied the people there for the first time who went off on their own, as even I was still having trouble remembering what was where. Blackpool is definitely in my top 3 parks in the world and has some great coasters and darkrides too.

UKday8143.jpg.21a7ad0e49b74632e5314d44b9da6811.jpg

Too bad the park closed so early, I could have so spent another 5 hours here

UKday8130.jpg.1e25b9920383580d7fba02f82e89d754.jpg

Tommy needs another ride on the Wild Mouse, solo for the best airtime

Before evening ERT, we just HAD to finally get our 99s

UKday8125.jpg.27ee4a4481ec3174b074510cd7df8679.jpg

Next up, the Derby Racer. Too bad it doesn't actually race anymore

UKday8122.jpg.59e2879321de7fec747b27d94d2bab55.jpg

and offers a really nice view of the park

UKday8115.jpg.e1b8c40996fed3b1ede605822f0f1456.jpg

It dried us off nicely after Valhalla with its intense speed

UKday8112.jpg.82e55456da4d5335381230466c96c317.jpg

Next we'll head to the Circle Swings

UKday8107.jpg.8a24b8a4697250b597e1323a532cd403.jpg

Don't forget the River Caves, a really nicely themed old mill

UKday8109.jpg.c83b41fa5450f5b3f485d04739e54406.jpg

And Trauma Towers, complete with a secret ride at the end!

UKday8102.jpg.effd57683d780130f9d05f8751de86b8.jpg

Time for the darkride tour, with goodies such as the Gold Mine

Next to Valhalla is the old Vikingar wooden shoot the chutes, or whats left of it...as the boneyard for Blackpool rides of yesteryear

UKday8068.jpg.8c5b827adc763dff063512e1891e3173.jpg

And then we head to the greatest ride ever built, Valhalla!

UKday8048.jpg.12115fe258b9768f959912cb86f66011.jpg

Unique layout and awesome airtime

UKday7096.jpg.c364564c3142faa4a7505b98a0fbc57d.jpg

The Wild Mouse really impressed me this time

UKday8015.jpg.c4d41a106dee2c2fc86e61100ee1f9aa.jpg

A few of us actually rode Space Invader 2 before it broke down, too bad its just a retheme of the original, with different trains

UKday8034.jpg.d4e7f11177e7e8765d8a730c38c8d477.jpg

Finally, Avalanche opened to close out our ERT. This is the shortest but the most insane of the Mack Bobsleds

UKday8024.jpg.86ef88f128a5f27107e8423f4e24886a.jpg

Big One wasn't too bad, and the first drop is fantastic

UKday8019.jpg.70662d821ad552292eca85564d473f9e.jpg

No one was interested in riding Tommy's Big One

UKday8043.jpg.6ec1835279387e5a1c2afb4c6484f1fc.jpg

The Big One was also a ERT gift. Would we have anything left to ride when the park actually opened?!

UKday8031.jpg.1793769c9f8cf057eca487bf917104cd.jpg

It didn't flip enough for my tastes, nor did it spin fast enough. Gimme a TopScan over this any day

UKday8011.jpg.3420f5b6f08530413e479156da026508.jpg

Roller coaster was also ours for ERT, shame they added seat belts

UKday8007.jpg.6383942687e87a4aaf70af0811c47f15.jpg

The following morning would give us ERT on Steeplechase, but only 2 sides were running

UKday7113.jpg.66ca02cbd348b73dc968e2f57358cd7b.jpg

Here for 3 nights, so I got settled in with my beers

UKday7112.jpg.642bb137804b6ecaf841122757e7c705.jpg

Our very posh hotel room at Big Blue. I could have slept on the floor with the heat on and it would have been better than Pontins

UKday7107.jpg.3cb7dd89fef2e0c01483b12ce84e5c92.jpg

Dinner was held at Coasters, I got the salmon, which was awesome!

UKday7104.jpg.612d56ee31f842ab9b31b8c668ed58cd.jpg

Ride ops would come from other rides just to spin people, but no one had a ride quite like Nicole and I

UKday7103.jpg.884e253dd275687b9c0625cd7367235a.jpg

The ride ops really enjoy making you spin even more than you normally would

UKday7101.jpg.359084533be157054c3f26f23b889ed6.jpg

The best flatride experience ever!

UKday7100.jpg.3d43e54c1c5762d3a6d6d35362292532.jpg

Tommy and James enjoyed the "carousel spinny coaster" I mean Crazy Mouse at South Pier. Sadly the guy would not pull the pin for us

This trash can offered a warning to people like Dave and Bret "don't fall over me while gawking at all the dark rides"

UKday7092.jpg.eca3048b15063e305a82688dc953cd2f.jpg

Nicole liked the classic feel to the station with the fountains and such

The time at Blackpool started off with some ERT on Big Dipper

The following day was split at 2 parks, Lightwater Valley and Flamingoland, both of whom offered us ERT sessions.

Lightwater Valley hadn't really changed since 2002, except they removed the Bat Flyer and log flume and replaced them with 2 other coasters, a Wacky Worm and a Pinfari Galaxi. Lightwater is a strange park, with lots of walking to actually get to rides, then lots of empty spaces. There's a nice wooded area, and then the rest of the park is essentially in a field. The big draw here is the Ultimate, an inhouse built terrain minetrain of randomness. What is it the ultimate of, waste of steel? oddity? combination of 2 extremes, sleep and insanity? Whatever it is, its messed up!

UKday9062.jpg.91d10c3ed4809cc479765fdaae7a1198.jpg

They also had one of these, but we didn't ride it because they loaded it slower than Gwazi

UKday9056.jpg.5afe388590c1062aa2fcd6d42bdfaeeb.jpg

It left me more dumbfounded than the pseudo-hamburger we had for lunch that day

UKday9059.jpg.33cf1197db2ec1e0d3fcf0af22198fc7.jpg

That ends up in this Malaria Lake 4: Toad Hole Basin

UKday9058.jpg.b9339f83e95f9bb00cbc629211e16a46.jpg

Its essentially a shuttle shoot the chutes

UKday9060.jpg.f01dcab974a83f58bd5e1d479c626607.jpg

Now exactly WHAT is the Toad Hole?

UKday9054.jpg.c15358a23863fec325cf8f386ab526aa.jpg

That answers that question

UKday9052.jpg.9d36a5430189bb3d4972e7d09820a270.jpg

"now where the heck is the Toad Hole?"

UKday9048.jpg.cf12fa8dadc20b5c1e33976735f09565.jpg

Rock on, Dave!

UKday9046.jpg.6e5b005ea4c1d29af606cbf5661262ac.jpg

Also fairly new is the Caterpillar Coaster, a kiddie

UKday9037.jpg.6bb0c6452ebda86494b6589f48f7c2f7.jpg

Everyone is smiles on this ride, unlike in 2002! =)

UKday9023.jpg.cce935d294698c98915425a6e47e766d.jpg

Ladybird is an RCT-type Tivoli

UKday9031.jpg.a9128c85239063af8e524855bde9d973.jpg

Casey doesn't look too sure about this, especially with the gas cans in the backseat

UKday9030.jpg.3971df42dcc271d54c8d9d3fb4b106aa.jpg

The Grizzly is one of the newest coasters, a Pinfari Galaxy

UKday9027.jpg.afe83155a72f277ab081c44e1b46c644.jpg

Rat Ride is an indoor Wildcat, built underground

UKday9024.jpg.7af8b607382e1182c3ddb16c4321ebd4.jpg

You know its an inhouse creation when they need a "3rd lift" to get it back into the station

UKday9020.jpg.036ad9481b4b1d592c65a76600421c91.jpg

World's slowest lift

UKday9013.jpg.bfa4ee2ec92f72138bb0501b2eb85e02.jpg

And here's the big draw to the park the Ultimate

UKday9063.jpg.cb499d3560115840afbc66a731d46dc2.jpg

After walking by the greenhouse, here's the park entrance

Flamingoland, on the other hand, changed a LOT since 2002. They got rid of 2 awesome Schwarzkopf coasters (not that anyone besides Joe would care anyway, and he was too busy filing papers to even go on the trip, so who cares about him ) as well as the indoor Pinfari Thunder Mountain. But at the same time they added a bunch of cool rides like the Disk-O, and 2 great Vekomas (is that even possible to say!?). The park's also been getting better and better theming.

UKday9183.jpg.b66d5895329b99e5c846be0a0d5c843b.jpg

A great end to a well planned and executed day at Lightwater and Flamingoland, unlike the ACE trip of 2002

UKday9180.jpg.7d1f8ee941d5483a7ac50c91b477b9d6.jpg

Doesn't Nicole look hot in this picture? I'm thinking about getting her a motorcycle =)

UKday9174.jpg.3f3e6e7b762b785e3096ee4c85bd0c00.jpg

With a quick stop at a very disappointing ride

UKday9154.jpg.49c41860f3e61c293a0fddf26fc4c40f.jpg

Finally we took the skyride over to ERT

UKday9151.jpg.400ee2fac650040b1b5f19ba896fe6a3.jpg

And we saw a random peacock wandering about

UKday9143.jpg.b8d23041a311fcf1fcb9db0097f88243.jpg

Of course, we had to find the infamous flamingos of Flamingoland

UKday9134.jpg.64728396700abba59ccecd1a39f2f848.jpg

It was themed to monster guys, and even had the fartometer like BubbleWorks used to

UKday9132.jpg.08e7480626e44c76d620666700ff53c0.jpg

See, I'm not lying!

UKday9131.jpg.7813fae5aaabea79a88a1f32483b109a.jpg

We even stumbled upon a darkride

UKday9125.jpg.59f86274484c397babaa0de976bddad7.jpg

and the same can be done with sideloops too!

UKday9126.jpg.75f00eccf51379e67267bc39737d20df.jpg

This is how you turn 1 vertical loop into 2, just add water

UKday9124.jpg.9b3ce8c456588b193bee8a358e74ed24.jpg

Yup, loop and sideloop!

UKday9122.jpg.8930374b5d41cad6d1c0123b5fdf9231.jpg

"Hey, do you see what I see?"

UKday9099.jpg.1e8feca663b77872ba87c7d3fc4d5f2a.jpg

I guess 2 good, smooth Vekomas in 1 park will open up a time vortex to the 1980s and suck a few patrons thru the portal

UKday9095.jpg.d6331ea0c67aacea8c74943cc9e2c3a2.jpg

Kumali was the surprise coaster of the trip, it was actually baby's butt smooth!

UKday9130.jpg.2b59134d2aab2cf62962d862d24312d6.jpg

The Disk-O was actually working, that's like the first time I've actually seen one working lately!

I opted to sit this one out, thank you very much

UKday9076.jpg.56a8e6ac3c60281104fdf92436f375c4.jpg

The park wasn't crowded either, so it didn't take 45 minutes to ride this kiddie coaster

UKday9068.jpg.9936ffac6425a5e86a3349ba74419f76.jpg

Even BIG girls could ride!

UKday9070.jpg.42e3563ef5a5c39983d2a4525dc53e0e.jpg

The booster bike, Velocity, was a really cool Vekoma coaster

Here we is, and not an hour late!

After 2 parks in 1 day, Robb and Elissa figured it was time to attempt 3 parks in 1 day, Pleasurewood Hills, Joyland, and Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. The task was accomplished easily, with us only needing a walkback to Enigma to ensure it would all work on a tight schedule. We even managed to finish early and get to the hotel at a more reasonable hour.

UKday10182.jpg.cd04024c99e11128fa453684a23b0621.jpg

We even had time to chill on the beach before catching the bus back to London

UKday10183.jpg.c332bdcc0ac8fdd7c939cea0f76e4799.jpg

Complete with some more TPRers who also devoured the parks in 2 hours or less!

Wow, another working Disk-O!

This time I sat right in front of the brakeman

UKday10158.jpg.d2b67ac62d75dcc82cdd6b603bee081a.jpg

Time for some more rides on the scenic railway

UKday10139.jpg.40d8bffff00fdc62d4af32ff6af22901.jpg

I'll pass on this after the experience at Flaming O land

UKday10128.jpg.518b653311a6adc479ef923ceab96eea.jpg

With another goofy snails ride, this one themed to random fairy tales

UKday10105.jpg.be05d91519c7e6b51bd69f31f13b3894.jpg

Joyland took like 5 minutes, so we decided to take the horse drawn carriage back up to Pleasure Beach

UKday10096.jpg.68673da9e6dd2d37fb3063243d2df5eb.jpg

Hey fishy, how's it going?

UKday10097.jpg.0d39305b6c013b2539126f046e254f7d.jpg

As was this darkride

UKday10098.jpg.164ebe8dfae64be9ba22ce9e0708e114.jpg

Snails was just weird

UKday10094.jpg.bcef2fefe157c2ddc240e37ec20b60db.jpg

And a pseudo-Virginia Reel, which was a lot of fun

Home of Spook Express, a really random themed kiddie coaster

UKday10100.jpg.7a22588da3d7214017f003ded618a3cc.jpg

Then we headed down to Joyland, a few blocks away

UKday10124.jpg.ea3ea12f9531cda5f478955cd0f57c81.jpg

And the darkride, with a gag that got Nicole

UKday10122.jpg.922ef8187748752d70815d395875b16d.jpg

We also did the 3D funhouse, which was pretty cool

UKday10174.jpg.eaa03506b2d9b53394b41723481bc243.jpg

But the cycle was short

UKday10173.jpg.2862e9f835f36c0fa8ec78cab7e04f1c.jpg

It was a fun ride

UKday10116.jpg.f9e02448718241156e99b2270f503a44.jpg

Which was cool because it had a working canopy

UKday10114.jpg.ca2aa6f2bc26682fbe36fd100a06b18b.jpg

With time to kill, we rode "Mulan"

UKday10074.jpg.9a763427bdb524c61c3e8642747b6a0e.jpg

"Hi, I'm Bill Paxton, you may remember me from such Scramblers as Twister"

UKday10069.jpg.993ce1b65180a38d92fc8c767c0d390d.jpg

And it sent Nicole into triple digits

UKday10063.jpg.e0317dd841b82e91bb09aa0eeab58ac9.jpg

The scenic railway was pretty good

UKday10061.jpg.a9ad9690fbb7f453503c639ccdf7e62c.jpg

So here we are at Great Yarmouth, where we were originally going to have like 4 hours here, then they tried to cut it down to 2, but some people wanted 3 (we were done in 1)

On the way to Yarmouth, I saw this sign

UKday10053.jpg.7646c68a5c394336cd111ad20937d22d.jpg

And Nicole wanted to make out with the Vekoma track for the upcoming boomerang

UKday10043.jpg.698c5472b6ad892e35497d1579240648.jpg

We wanted to ride this, but the ride cycle was pretty long and we ran out of time

This little flume actually got you pretty wet

That ain't really 3D. And you thought Garfield's Nightmare was bad! (well, it still is!)

UKday10039.jpg.a229c1a2997406138c24fab7608e5257.jpg

Oh wait, no, its just a "3D" boatride

UKday10038.jpg.065646685067d8dd64ad72142bfeb51e.jpg

Why is Nicole wearing these 3D glasses? Is she about to get on Dueling Dragons?

The park also had a Huss Tri-Star

The main reason for the stop at Pleasurewood Hills was to ride the 1-of-a-kind Enigma (Cannonball Express) Schwarzkopf Jumbo V.

The final day of the official UK trip took us to Thorpe Park, the place where Robb and Elissa got engaged. The park added 2 big coasters since 2002, Nemesis Inferno and Stealth. Hitting this park on a weekend could have been disasterous, but Robb and Elissa thought of everything, not only did we get ERT on the 2 newest coasters, we also had express passes for all the other coasters as well as those 2, and some of the more popular flatrides. Even though the park was crowded, we managed to ride everything several times, and still have time to relax. It was a great end to the trip for those who didn't sign up for the add-on (those dumbasses).

But it didn't stop the ride...at least not for a few more days.

UKday11123.jpg.22a7aba78c51ce7f17aed60aa030dad7.jpg

Until someone yelled "party fowl"

UKday11122.jpg.d8cb534fd2b49dfe32208300ee67e121.jpg

and had everyone running from the unloading train to the loading train. Quick and easy riding there

While not the best of the rockets, its not the worst either

The night ended with an hour on Stealth

Jeff, we tried to tell you!

UKday11097.jpg.c22798a0840ba2f56824eeb490b31f62.jpg

We didn't get too wet on the log flume, and the double down surprised us

UKday11105.jpg.9e821230a7cc8c966baf01fcde2eb6b6.jpg

A lot of the flats had really short lines, but also really short cycles

With all the coaster credits obtained, we decided to ride some flats

UKday11031.jpg.a58e925e1ddb87cffcfff88517673e74.jpg

Finally we wanted to hit Stealth while it was running. Thanks to our express passes, we were on and off again in less than 3 minutes

and some other cool inversions

Which means there's at least 1 vertical loop!

Next up, Colossus, the 10 inversion Intamin looper

UKday11043.jpg.8e2588dbde036afa283097fa21c0535c.jpg

And was fairly comfortable

The S&S Skyswatter was a lot cooler than I thought it would be

Detonator is a great drop tower, but sadly the soundtrack didn't work for us this time

UKday11121.jpg.c0dfac894e8627b0e80524893a180426.jpg

And the interlocking corkscrews were a new thing for B&M to try on an invert

UKday11077.jpg.d232841751ebdfc42806464d214f33d9.jpg

Inferno was cool with these water cannons under the loop

I could stare at this all day too

I could stare at this all day

First up was X:/No Way Out, but it wasn't opened yet, so we headed to Nemesis Inferno

Welcome to Thorpe. This does not look good

Great pics and captions Derek!

I was surprised not seeing more bar and beer pics. No, I didn't look in the "Beer" thread.

Maybe I'll get around to posting mine someday.

Since you didn't mention it in that last set of pics, I will-- Does Joe realize what he missed out on??

Great TR Derek!

"Merry Go Straight"

And ya know? The Mulan ride at Yarmouth. Looked like I missed a better caterpillar, than what I got in Southport, which ran.......forever.....and ever...... and on....and on... and eventually....... slowly.....raised it's...........cover.....then .... finally....slooooooowed down, stopped and then opened its FRIGGIN' COVER!!!!!

And after watching The Circulator at Flamingoland, decided it too was just..... not.....worth it. Until I saw the same version at Yarmouth - and saw it did indeed go muuuuch fasssster than that clodding thing at FlamLand.

Too bad I missed at both in Yarmouth. Had the time. Ah well.

And thanks for reminding me what I actually still did miss out on during this Awesome Amazing Trip of ours!!!

Thanks for sharing it all with us.
