  1. Since no one cares where we are, I've decided to post my psuedo trip report (read; at my house). Mods feel free to delete...

Note: Many clues to the next location of The Alveys are hidden in these photos.

This is a photo of the exact location in the park the yellow B&M track is going to placed. You heard it hear first.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

I enjoy being wrong as much as I enjoy being right. I agree with your post. Rob told me they had another destination, which I won't divulge. I told him though, that I believed they were just going home..

For this one reason... KidTums is not with them ( at least that's what they want us to believe). So that would make it a short trip...

Another thought about 23.. MOA had two credits.. and Galaxyland had 3.

Since I didn't get any takers on my last post.. I'm west of this.

(if you know where to look that picture is easy)

  3. Rob mentioned they are heading somewhere next..... If he was telling the truth the location is posted on this thread somewhere... I won't reveal it though in case there will be a third part to this.

For anyone who cares how I wasted 4 hours of my life figuring this out...

I hadn't read the thread until MAll of America and Terminal 2 Were revealed.

So by working backwards I found the only carrier that left terminal 2 out of LAX and flew to MSP in the morning was Northwest. I read the clue Wes posted about "Work towards the "23", don't work from it." . For all you non-thread reading readers (sic), Wes figured out one of the previous "Where in the world threads" using stuff like jpg meta data and thumbnail previews. He knows his stuff.. His clue was very helpful...

I took the clue to mean that it wasn't the previous flight they were on or it wasn't the first numbers in the flight (the "from" part). It had to be the following flight and possibly the last digits of the flight.

Parktrips had mentioned Edmonton around page 13 so when I saw a flight that had a long enough layover for MOA and also was the same airline with a destination that someone had mentioned, I felt like I had it.

A quick trip the park index part of TPR showed lots of galaxyland photos that matched the enjoy "image" in style.

CTU Agent posted the Wikipedia thing about how the candy bars are occasionally imported to the US and Canada. So I searched the West Emdonton Mall's website for any stores that would import candy. "London Drug" came up. I could still be wrong about that.

Finding the hotel was easy. Had to be a themed hotel (horse on the door) as close to the mall as possible. So there was only one choice for that.....

While we wait for the next update, If you would like to figure out where I am.. I'm east of this..

  4. Just spoke to Rob...

I won't say the hotel, until they leave so they don't get innundated with other random people calling them, but I was right....

I feel like a winner (Space Olympics) , because I figured it out....

I feel like loser because I stayed up most of the night (to my wife's great annoyance) researching websites like flightstats.com, the westedmonton mall website, flikr for pictures of galaxyland, and got my culture credits about Edmonton from wikipedia....

  5. For Bonus Points I'd venture to say your first flight was Northwest 304.. Leaves at 8:26 arrives at 1:47.. There was natural light coming through the windows at Terminal 2 in LAX so you didn't take one of the earlier flights, and that is the only one that would have allowed enough time between layovers to go to Mall Of America..

Also ( according to wikipedia, an infallible source) there is a large population of Franco-Albertans (read French Canadians) in Edmonton, hence the desire to import European candy as shown in your photo. The advertisement showing the girl wearing a French Beret coincides with all this....

Next I'm off to work trying to locate the ads...

The Virgin Mobile logo show in that ad is not the one used overseas currently. It is currently being used in America and Canada.

  6. I searched and couldn't find an answer to the meaning of life... So I will ask directly....

Is it Coasters or is it Theme?

In a death match does Six Flags Great Adventure (with three B&Ms and two famous Intamins) beat Disneyland or Magic Kingdom.....

Since this is theme park review and not coaster review, although it has a fairly strong coaster emphasis, I was simply wondering the opinion of the higher-ups

I realize that it's comparing apples to oranges, but if given the choice, would you pick Cedar Point or over Tokyo Disneyland?

    X or Poohs Hunny Hunt?

    Half full or half empty?

Mod Edit by larrygator: I'm editing and unlocking after conversing with the thread starter. It's not so much a straight comparison question but what is Robb and Elissa's preference. A valid question in that they love coasters and awesometheming.

  7. As many may know, Disney began a viral campaign in December with posters, first spotted outside the Burbank studio, asking the question; Are you 23? Disney.com/23 allowed you to sign up for the announcement on March 10th. Speculation ran rampart on Disney sites (maybe here too? I didn't see a post) of what it could be..

Here is the answer, if you care. On October 23, 2008 Disney registered these websites

    d23expo.com

    disneyexpo.com

    disneystwentythree.com

    disneystwenty-three.com

Disney filed for two trademarks in late March 2008

The are "D23" and "Disney Twenty Three"

They filed a number of numerous classes of trademarks for general merchandise. (clothes, pins, etc.).The last filing though is the most interesting..

Although I don't have all the exact details, It will be a Disney enthusiast fan club that will have an annual fee. They will also have a convention/expo for all members sometime this year...

Is this my first post? I hope I made it a good one.
