  1. ^ One to duel the other one they have?
  2. The newest "one-off" Ferrari, owned by Peter Kalikow....the Superamerica 45.
  3. And that's literally the only thing I remember from my visit to the original Parrot Jungle! Several points: - I'm actually shocked at how nice the place looks. - You gotta love the ambition behind building the "Parrot Bowl" with that many seats. - There's far too many great quotes to respond to. You guys outdid yourselves on this one! - That's a nice picture.
  4. I'll take 100 wands, hats, or stones before that stupid ass cake makeover. Honestly, going with that cake was the worst decision in the history of bad decisions. It was like covering the Eiffel Tower or the Golden Gate Bridge with Grandma's table cloth for a year. It still makes me cringe.
  5. Rule of thumb regarding this type of question: If your product (book, movie, cartoon, etc.) crosses over into being a "franchise," then transforming it into theme park form will equal long term success. It's pretty rare to see something on a scale such as Potterville be constructed before its actual theatrical run has officially finished. You're not gonna find many theme park projects like this deemed worthy of green light status until they're well past their final DVD release dates. An exception: Potter's neighbor, Jurassic Park, whose third release came after the park had officially opened. I guarantee you the suits crunched the numbers, which to be honest, even a homeless dude could have figured out. Harry Potter has had seven novels and a soon to be eighth film released. Not only was Potter, in it's original form (gasp, as a book!), a "landmark" offering with the cultural significance of inspiring kids to actually read again, it was able to maintain box office dominance over the span of a whole decade....which is unheard of. George Lucas didn't even pump out successful films at that rate. And speaking of which, Star Wars has what? A simulator ride and a themed weekend at MGM. Yeah. So when you ask if Potter's popularity will be as "sustaining" as say, Jurassic Park, I would defer to the math of it all. Like Wes said, there's enough money wrapped up in it to make it relevant for quite some time. Scott "obviously bored this morning to be thinking this hard" B.
  6. ^^ Okay, if I ever meet Tony Hawk, this will definitely be the first thing we discuss.
  7. Not necessarily the "best" course, but Hillbilly Golf in Gatlinburg is certainly unique, and worth playing. I mean, c'mon, you need to take a JJ credit to get to it!
  8. It just lacked the simplistic charm of the historic original. It was never gonna be anywhere near an E-ticket attraction, and I think many purists were upset that Disney made a half-assed attempt to infuse a couple modern characters into it with the hopes that it'd breathe some life into what they thought was just a tired old attraction. To me, it's like the Country Bears. Really, it's okay to leave a couple simple things here and there as they are. Unfortunately, Disney is not unlike any other major company...always tinkering, and not always necessarily improving (coughFacebookcoughFirefoxcoughetc.etc.cough) things.
  9. I believe this is correct, to my knowledge anyway. Considering the way Boomers has run their own place into the ground, I doubt that would ever be a viable option....sadly. I've gotta say though, it's nice to know that no one here has gone batsh*t by starting online petitions or organizing a convoy of pickup trucks to save it. Does it deserve to be saved? Absolutely. The truth is though, every time I ever rode it I had a sinking feeling it might be my last......and that includes its first year in operation. I'm still amazed it lasted this long!
  10. Is there a really detailed Waffle House review next?
  11. I still can't believe it has restraints. Discuss.
  12. A 767? LOL!! If anything, the slave labor that builds these monstrosities is more offensive....not 911 jokes.
  13. It's just one line that has always stuck with me. It's one of our favorites.
  14. Thank you Screamscape, with the help of BGWceilingfans. You mean BGW is putting in a new car/autobahn-themed coaster made by Zierereriereriereiier that goes through a forest-themed building and ends with a dramatic covered bridge drop in the same spot as BBW's former finale?
  15. With Chunt on the horizon, and a bunch more American voters likely to go ape poop for the more accessible ZacSpin at SFMM this year, the poll results are unlikely to shift much.....and that's okay by me. It's a shame that more people haven't had the chance to ride Formula Rossa.
  16. Sooo, does any of that $30,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 budget include an advertising campaign to actually make people wanna visit Saudi Arabia?
  17. Woah, Woah, Woah!! Porsche in Atlanta???? Yes, please.
