Maybe the local "Griffonites" can help with this one. I don't remember hearing or reading about it anywhere (and wasn't about to reread this entire thread), but was there ever any mention about the color choice? Considering all the red tape, and hoops Busch has to jump through to please the bordering residents, I was wondering if the light blue was chosen in a feable attempt to blend a little more with the sky due to it's height, and the sightlines it has? To me, the colors are the only lame part of the ride. The ride will still be great nonetheless, but I was just curious.

I'm not a big fan of either, but in terms of retaining a "coolness" factor for Lost Continent, I think the Lord of the Rings franchise would've been a better choice if they had to go commercial with it.

Yeah, trust me, I was really skeptical. Although it'll never come close to threatening my beloved Cakebread from Napa, it still wasn't half bad, considering where it's made, etc. etc. And thanks to all for the compliments on the pics, and the pumpkin. Same here. That'd be like 3 months converted to Six Flags time. And to any of those who might still believe this is a bad move. Yes, I'm sure the #11th ranked steel coaster in the world will suffer tremendously from losing its floor. No. No they don't.

^ The real people they're marketing to will never know the difference. Much the same way CP can still say TTD was the first coaster to top the 400ft. mark. Heck, they could probably still claim it was the tallest coaster in the solar system, and it simply doesn't matter to the general public.

This sounds sweet! I would LOVE to see something like this permantly installed somewhere in the states; however I can't see the actual Alien interaction thing going over too well with stateside audiences. ^ How far were the actors allowed to go in terms of "capturing" guests? Were you given any restrictions or instructions before you entered? Slightly off topic.....does anyone remember Terror on Church Street in downtown Orlando. Okay, I meant to do this trip report, oh, about three months ago, but I just didn't really feel like it until now. Actually, Scott's (Scaparri's) TR about the hot chocolate inspired me to finally put it together. Anyway, enjoy. When I think of North Georgia, I naturally think of mountains, pickup trucks, NASCAR, and "the ATL". Well, now I can officially add high class wine vineyards. To my amazement, Shannon found about 10 different vineyards less than a couple hours east of us. With that discovery, and our appreciation for a good bottle of wine from time to time, of course it made perfect sense for a day's trip to Wolf Mountain Vineyard about a week before Halloween. Unfortunately, we were unable to take the half hour tour due to a wedding which was booked, but nevertheless, we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent, and the wine was surprisingly on par with many from more popular vineyards out west. Off we go..... And ended up with Mr. Skellington. Happy slightly belated Halloween, kids. I got medieval on it. A quick pic at the scenic overlook spot on the ride home. It took the leaves forever to turn this year.....stupid global warming! I hadn't carved one since God knows when. Even Reuben Studdard was there. You know you're in the south when Sheriff Buford T. Justice is walking around smoking a stogie. Honestly, do you really need a 50lb. pumpkin? Sh*t. Now where am I supposed to hide my bottle of Jack? Along the way, we stopped at Burt's Pumpkin farm. At least, I think that was the name of the place? Time to head home. Even the resident dog/wolf was enjoying the day. Mmmmmmmm. Here's looking at you, kid. Just look at the view a dollar can buy. Okay, we basically had our pick of tables...so I didn't have to part with that dollar afterall. Score! I slid the waiter a Washington, and look at the table we got. They're real, and they're spectacular. Um, the vineyard. By this time, I was hungry like the..... And this is where the ceremony would be held. Very nice choice, if I do say so myself. It was all set up for a wedding in the afternoon. The entrance. Not the biggest place in the world, but very nice. Our destination. Do you see Kick Boodie? No? Okay, let's keep moving. How you like them apples? First stop, one of the dozens of apple barns along the way. Shouldn't they be roaming? We picked a perfect fall day for a drive.

As far as the search for a mate goes, I couldn't agree more with this post. Whether it's online, or meeting face to face over dinner, your presentation is what's most important. Too many times, people are turned off by selfishness. If all you're out to do is find someone who's willing to go to the parks with you, go to concerts with you, etc, etc, then you're obviously not gonna put your partner first in the relationship (which is key to most happy relationships). Women pick up on these things, guys. Don't push your obsessive love of coasters out to the forefront. I always think it's easier to explain your love of something as a hobby, rather than a "true love" or "obsession." People relate better to others having hobbies, because we all have our own. As far as women falling out of love with going to parks and riding coasters, I think it's a combination of what a lot of folks have already said in the thread. Amusement parks are always going to be considered a "young-at-heart" type of thing. To most grown adults, it's just something you do mostly when you're younger. I'm not sure having children or anything else really plays a significant role in why they stop going to parks. No need to split hairs here. Enthusiasts are a small percentage of the population. Finding a compatible mate who enjoys them as much as you is a LONG shot. In conclusion, you're either born to love these things, or you're not.

Plenty of time for that in college. Not in every instance. I work in an office where we do not come in contact with the paying customer, yet a "workplace casual" dress code is enforced.

^Understood. But at the same time, they're paying for their children to be educated. Part of that teaching should be about equality and decency. And one simple way to try and teach it is through uniforms. If the skanks an ganstas wanna dress like clowns at the mall, fine. But while part of my tax dollars are paying for their education, I want them wearing uniforms. And don't worry, there's always college for that last grasp of "freedom" before the real world. Just my two cents.

Reality check. I'm willing to venture that a HIGH percentage of the American workforce wears some sort of "uniform" on a daily basis. Whether it's suit and tie, khakis and polos, or a Mickey D's uniform. Get used to it, kids.
