  1. ^ Yeah, here's Shane's post, which has a bonus picture!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=734204#734204
  2. That's good news, the lift was deafening! No they're not. You can quite easily put your hand into the holes when strapped in. Thankfully, it's like a Darwin award, if you're stupid enough to try it, you'll remove yourself from the gene pool so that future generations wont be riddles with such idiocy... Dave "still a fun ride though!" Wilson
  3. Loving the Mike pictures, it looks like you had a wicky wicky wild wild time at WMSP, now all I can say is: REFLEX PHOTOS!!!
  4. Looks like you guys had way too much fun without me! I'll have to do a Birmingham run on my lonesome at some point. Divv, if any pictures were taken on the night out, I request that they be posted IMMEDIATELY! Also: For meerkats, go to www.comparethemeerkat.com For easy way to save on car insurance, go to www.comparethemarket.com SIMPLES!
  5. The little loops are where Larry and his army of midgets will hold onto the chain and launch the cars around the track. Don't tell too many people though, we don't want KD to get annoyed with us for giving away their secret, if other parks find out they may try to copy it...
  6. Looking good Shane! I'm so glad this is going well
  7. We could even do it "park index" style and have a proper database that people could submit to. That would make things easily searchable...
  8. Great TR Natalie! Looks like you two had fun at this place I love the charm of these small parks, it's nice to see that a few of them do still exist! Dave
  9. We were keeping Andrew informed as the evening progressed!
  10. We were rushing through the park so quickly we didn't even have time to think! And seeing as he works with one of these spinners, I BLAME MIKE!! Dave "Too much information?" Wilson
  11. I WANT BAR PHOTOS!!! That is all.
  12. Well the camera had no batteries for the night out in Manc
  13. Velocity's restraints are comfortable if you lean down and do the whole "racing biker" thing. Mike's rocking the look quite well in the picture above... It's a little awkward trying to sit upright during the launch though.
  14. ^ Will do! It was a great day at a really fun park! For the record, Steve still hasn't made it home... Dave
  15. The trailer looks epic! Hopefully it won't take too long to jump over the pond
  16. You did bring a tool set with you on the trip didn't you? Otherwise, how did your car end up in three pieces? Not really a tool kit, just one massive tool...
  17. ^ Go drool over Tootie...
  18. Quite proud of my clean sheet so far! I cracked my skull when I was younger (which explains a lot!) but that's about it...
  19. TPR China & Japan!!!!! Good answer This place looks AWESOME!!! I know I'll make it out there eventually, it looks like a blast! I like the fact that you have a rain check policy too, not many other places do that so willingly! Dave "keep the great updates coming!" Wilson
  20. OK guys, Larry posted a nice friendly message on the last page and people have just ignored it. Please do not go off topic, if you want to discuss this take it to the random forum, end of. Any further posts on the subject will be deleted and the users given 24hr bans. Dave
  21. ^ What he said! Nice TR, I actually prefer Vortex to Behemoth but I'm sure that was only because it was SUCH a surprise when I visited. A great park with a few nice pieces of landscaping (not to mention the awesome mountain in the middle). They need some quality rides there because a lot of them are fairly run on the mill, even though there at about 14 coasters already. I'd love to go back if they had a few more substantial offerings. Thanks for the TR Dave
  22. ^^ If you're on a mac, just use preview Open the picture and then go to Tools > Adjust size Simple!
  23. Mmmmm, Reindeer Mousse! Yeah, this was really more of a resort than just a park! The park was so well presented, I loved the fact that even the inflatable slides were on their own custom pieces of tarmac Little things like there being no gum on the floor (a problem too often encountered at parks) and big things like the amazing facade along the back of the park that had loads of different buildings incorporated into it were great to see. I absolutely loved the "TPR Grand Prix", the track was great and obviously the group made it a really fun event. I would have liked to have done better, but I'll settle for my top 10 finish! Thanks Vellu for being so welcoming to the group, I had a great time (and personally loved standing outside the hotel at 2am in the sunlight!). Dave "Can't wait for Grand Prix video" Wilson
  24. ^^ Yup! I was honoured to be one one of the most insane rides! I was sitting next to Erik and on the other side to Tom on his own, so basically two big guys on one side and one small guy on the other. The second the holding brakes released at the start of the lift, the car swing down so that me and Erik were facing the floor. I couldn't count how many spins we did during the ride but I have it on good authority that we did eight! Dave "and yes, Erik got a nose bleed!" Wilson
  25. Firstly, a lot of Schools have already broken up, the only ones still in session are comprehensives that don't have exams, so don't expect it to be too quiet. Both Alton hotels are very nice, obviously very near to the parks and have a couple of benefits like free parking and Early Ride Time for an hour before opening on a selection of the following rides: Oblivion Enterprise Mutiny Bay Duel Runaway Mine Train Haunted Hollow Rita: Queen of Speed Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE NOTE: An Annual pass will get you free parking and ERT. The hotels are expensive but very comfortable, the restaurants are nice and although the little show in the evening is very cheesy, it's something to do and trust me, there's not a lot going on in staffordshire so you'll be thankful for it! As for a fastpass, you'll be there for two days, so I don't think it's necessary unless you want to get a ton of rides in. Blackpool is DEFINITELY worth going to!! Possibly my favourite park in the UK. The rides individually might not be that special, but the atmosphere and charm of the park is really nice, especially in the summer. Although the big rides can be done in a day, you probably won't get through all the smaller attractions. You might even want to go to the other piers and maybe the tower so It could be worth two days if you want a full visit. There is no fastpass, but the actual Queue lines (Hi Lou! Who am I kidding you'll never read this!) are very short so the wait times for the rides never really get too long. I've never left Blackpool wishing they had a fastpass option. You're probably better off going to a B&B in Blackpool since there are more of them that people. I stayed in this one last September and it was great! Hope you're trip goes well Dave
