  1. I think that's kind of the point...
  2. 19/20, screwed up on one of the zippin pippin questions. I guess it helps to do the TPR:TM news! Dave
  3. Well, this is quite the TR! I linked up your front page to make it easier to navigate (and deleted the blatant lies about what pages things were on!) Keep up the great work, looking forward to Canobie... Dave
  4. Took my chance when we were in NYC to see Wicked on broadway and loved it! I'll have to go to the London one at some point and compare (apparently not to favourably!) Dave
  5. ^ I'm not saying Jason is wrong, but I always ask people who mention it and no-one can ever back it up. Dave
  6. ^ I've asked many people many times and no-one has ever been able to confirm that Thorpe has a height celing around 115-120ft. It seems they just put forward proposals that they can reasonably expect to pass planning. Bit yes, there's no chance of a hyper of giga unless a lot of things change in the local area. Dave
  7. I'd like to say that as B&M hyper coasters go this looks like a decent one. Still hallmark B&M, but very nice nonetheless. So to those complaining about the bitching: 1.Firstly, let everyone have their say. I'm not berating anyone for loving the look of this coaster, so don't complain if I find this choice a little confusing. 2. Using a MF/Magnum comparison is missing the point entirely, that is not what is being complained about. I'm sure I could trawl the park index and find 10-15 parks with two similar rides if I wanted to. What I find odd is the proximity of two rides time wise. They are both essentially out and back coasters with lovely floaty B&M airtime hills and open seats. I don't think anyone can find a park that has had two major investments that are so similar in such a short space of time. 3. This will not have more airtime that i305. This will not have the positive G-forces of i305. Before people get all "worlds of fun" on me, I don't think anyone would disagree that B&M is a conservative company and places pride in their reliability as a result. This will not be a departure for them dynamically as it is already quite a large step for them building over 300'. The rendering also show a lovely B&M floating machine with parabola hills. Unless this changes drastically in the final product this will not be an ejector airtime monster. All this said however, the park has to have had a massively positive response from Behemoth to invest such a lot of money in this and I commend them for building new rather than relocating. I'm sure it will be a huge success and the public will love the ride, much as I am very confused about the choice. Let the flaming begin!
  8. Really? Have YOU ridden either of them? You must not have, because Magnum and MF are actually quite a bit alike. They both have straight drops, both have a kind of "pretzel-ish" turn around, and both have some airtime hills. And they both broke similar height records. The one big difference with those two rides and the CW rides is that between Magnum and MF, Cedar Point built three VERY DIFFERENT RIDES (Mean Streak, Raptor, and Mantis) to help ease the blow of those rides being similar. I put money on it that we would have been having the EXACT same type of conversation had Cedar Point built Millennium Force in 1994. No, actually I've never been on either... It's only my home park and live 45 minutes away and been a season pass holder for the past 12 years... The only thing Magnum and MF have in common is there meant for speed and airtime.. that is it. I would bet the average park guest would think they have a lot more in common than that.
  9. Would it be reading too much into the image to suggest a duelling ride? Dave
  10. ^ Probably pretty light. School should be back. Try and go in the first week of the halloween stuff and get the mazes in. Have fun!
  11. I think I got well and truly destroyed in this update. Touché. The backstage stuff was great here, the only problem was that three hours weren't enough Dave
  12. I *think* the on-ride cam still works. Prepare for the DVD to be incredibly expensive!! Dave
  13. ^ And with that I think this thread has run its course. Dave
  14. I've survived two of the three hottest days ever on a TPR tour (Isla Magica in 2007 and SFStL last summer) and it's a very simple formula. STAY OUT OF THE SUN!! That's pretty much it! If there is a fastpass on offer buy it, then ride something and then sit in the shade for a bit. Rinse and repeat. Dave
  15. Great TR Divv, It's a close call, but I would say Silver Dollar City just edged out Dollywood. It's a bit like comparing Megan Fox and Katy Perry though Dave
  16. ^^ The ride is not listed as closed in the park index Dave
  17. Assuming the whole panel is in the picture (doesn't show if the bottom or top is cut off) 34 columns 50 rows 1700/panel 3400/door 13600 Total
  18. I should try and find that shirt so I can take it to Japan! I love coaster shirts I was taking to him about the differences between their ride and I305 and asked how tall the Carowinds Intimidator was. His response of just staring at my shirt was epic! Dave
  19. Ha! Totally unintentional chin rub!! Nice TR
  20. ^ Saw can be smooth or rough depending on what car you get. If you're visiting on a school trip day in June then it will be packed, so if you want to ride everything you'll have to plan a little bit. Here's the route I tell people to take which hasn't failed yet. -When the park opens, RUN to Saw and get in line as soon as possible. The ride can get some pretty hefty queues so it's good to get it out of the way early. -Next go over to Nemesis Inferno at the back of the park, if you plan on riding Samurai at all during your day, it's probably best to do this right after Saw before going to Inferno. -After that go over to Stealth, if the line for the front row doesn't go beyond the staircase, get in line for the front, it's pretty cool. If it's long, just get as far to the back of the train as possible. -Then go to X:\ No Way Out. -Then Colossus. After that just do whatever flats you want to and try and have lunch outside of the 12:30-2:00 rush otherwise you'll be waiting for a long time. It'll be a really busy day, but it's possible to make the most of it! Dave
  21. By all means discuss this, but please leave out random speculation. Let's wait to hear more info first. Dave
  22. ^ Ha! Thankfully I didn't have to pick the lock, just covertly unlocked the window a few days earlier so we could jump in! Dave
  23. ^ Ha! They just pulled the image, but here's what it was... http://www.gamesradar.com/3ds/dead-or-alive-dimensions/news/g-2010061611855333027
  24. Just when I'd pushed the credit whoring memories from my mind!! I'm not sure if it's better or worse that there were like 50 of us there Dave
