Shane's Amusement Attic

That Google Map is Hilariously Wrong! It's best to ask a local where Arrow was located, after all, some of us have visited the plant when it was Operational. Arrow Dynamics Manufacturing Facility was Located in the Freeport Center in Building H-12. In the Google Map, Bldg H-12 is located in the bottom left of the photo. The Building is now Owned by Lifetime and is a Backyards Inc. Store. I'm not sure if many people know that in the 80s and 90s Arrow actually Contracted out the Manufacturing of their Steel Roller Coaster Track and Support Column Components to Fabriweld, which was located next door to Arrow at the Freeport Center in Building G-11. Fabriweld also did a lot of work for Vekoma as well, including the Manufacturing of Deja Vu at SFMM. I'm not sure if the others were Manufactured by Fabriweld or Not. Fabriweld also did work for S&S Power in the 90s before Intermountain Lift in Springfield, Utah, took over the manufacturing until 2003. - Sid -
Indiana Beach (IB) Discussion Thread

I'm willing to bet Steel Hawg's Trains won't be much different, besides the Stadium Seating, from those on the New Second Generation Screaming Squirrel, Afterburner. -

Did Cyprus Gardens re open their CP Huntington Train Ride after opening Starliner? Because in the 7th Picture it appears the tracks are still torn up? - Sid -
Accident in Siam park,Thailand
linearinduction replied to mobilejom's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sounds like there was no Safety System (Photo Eyes, Lasers, Water Level Sensor, etc) to Stop a Boat at the Top of the Drop if the Run Out Is Occupied or the Water Level is Low. -

Bell's - The Fight Rages On
linearinduction replied to Shavethewhales's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I certainly haven't seen any pictures of Bell's looking "Run Down." That Signed Agreement from Larson International for the Super Loop and the Plans for the new Coaster and Park Upgrades looked like more than enough reason to renew Bell's Lease. I hope Bells Finds a new home soon and includes all of those "upgrades" planned for their old location as part of it. -
Photo and Video Trip Report: Lagoon
linearinduction replied to JimmyBo's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
There was a rumor going around that there were reps from a Japanese Park looking at Wicked. ZIERER intends to build many more of these Tower Launch Coasters, I just hope they eliminate the Airtime Hill, or as I call it, "The Stapler." At First I thought Wicked's Trains looked like the Gerstlauers, but the Gerstlauers don't have 12" Road Wheels, Lapbars, and a Front End. Wicked's Trains are Much more Open Too. -
Floorless X-Car!
linearinduction replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
S&S's New Restraints were first used on their Sky Swatter and Sky Sling when they opened them in September of 2002. Didn't the "X-Car" come out in 2003 or 2004? - Sid -

JimmyBo, the longest I've seen Wicked's Line was 1.5 Hours and the line was all the way back to the "I Scream, U Scream" Dude. I'm just glad they raised the Height Restriction to 50" and stopped using the Seat Inserts for the Kids. If they were still doing that, the line could easily hit 2 Hours. lol Lagoon is MUCH Better at Night too. - Sid -

JimmyBo, if you would have popped over to the LagoonisFun.com Forums, We could have told you that Wicked is a Totally Different Ride at Night. In the Daytime Heat the Launch Track LSMs barely Push you out of the Tunnel and to the LSMs on the Tower. At Night, you really get Launched Out of the Tunnel and Up and Over the Tower. The Immelmann, Heart-line Roll, and Half Pipes are Much Better after Dark. For everyone else, Ride Wicked at Night to really see what the ride can be like. -Sid -

Normally when Wicked's Line reaches the Spider Sign, it's only a 30-35 Minute Wait. It's very true that the Lagoon needs to take it to the Next Level. I'm hoping this will happen when they install their next "Large Roller Coaster" that will open sometime in the next 4 Years. Sonic Boom is an Awesome Ride! The first time I rode it in September, I didn't get any ear protection and the "Boom" wasn't all that loud. -
Lagoon Photo TR, Including Wicked.
linearinduction replied to Coasterkid20's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I should clearify that the "No Loose Articles Policy" I was talking about was for the Roller Coasters. Roller Coaster, The Bat, and Wicked do have space on the Platform For Bins, perhaps like those on The Rocket, but the park feels it's better to have you take it with you than leave it behind. I stopped trying to figure out Lagoon the first week I was a Ride Op in 1999! lol
