  1. Today I pulled the pin on our USA road trip since the next US travel review isn't until the 21 August. Just want to shout out to Cedar Point customer service. They refunded our breakers money in full plus didn't quibble about refunding the fast lane passes either. Compared to Hershey that offered a voucher for next year and Kings Dominion and BGW who didn't even reply. Great customer service CP. Thank you for accommodating our situation.
  2. Hi I'm looking to check the situation in US before I pull the plug on my trip to CP from England UK. We are booked at breakers with fast pass for labor weekend and with rising UK cases and a ban on entry to the USA it looks increasingly unlikely that we will be able to get into the country. I'm going to try my best to get a refund of sorts but not holding my breath. Before I do cancel I just wanted to see what the current vibe is from the US side re international travel? We are now able to visit the US without quarantine but is there any talk or sign of travel opening up by 25th August on your side yet for vaccinated travellers etc?
  3. Formula Rossa in Abu Dhabi all the way back in February 2020 about a week before everything went sub optimal around the globe. Our Destination was Thailand and I found that it was possible to stop off for four days en-route in Dubai. We got round as many coasters as we could and Formula Rossa shot straight to number 1 in my list. I am interested to see how it will stack up against the likes of TTD when I hopefully manage to break my hiatus in August for my USA trip though..
  4. Thanks for the info. Water parks are out for us as my partner doesn't like the slides which kind of ruin it for me so I'll have to settle for a dunk in the pool at breakers when we go. Im really glad to hear that we can arrive a bit earlier to check off the zoo, gardens and chocolate world. Will def do that. We may take advantage of the preview. We will have time but it will be after a 5 hour drive so we may just see how we feel on the day. The hours 11-7 seem good enough. In the UK I am used to midweek days of 10-4pm
  5. I just did some research on Hershey and discovered that the zoo and gardens are included in the ticket price. I assumed they would be a separate ticket. I am going for the rollercoasters but since there is more on offer I'm trying to find out if it's possible to get round the whole park with a fast pass mid week August and also get a chance to walk round the other places as well. We won't do anything ticketed but how much time should I leave to also have a walk around the chocolate world thing as well?
  6. I was wondering whether they will sell a fast pass for Pantheon this year? I know some places won't sell them on an opening year of a new ride but not sure what BGW normal practice is in this regard.
  7. Praise the lord I have purchased my fast pass plus for labor day weekend. Couldn't stretch to more than one day at $159 per person but hopefully I can add another day nearer the time. Managed to get KD at a much more reasonable $65 too. So glad to hear that trains will be fully loaded as well
  8. Ok since fast lane is coming in some form. Should I jump in when first available to snatch what I can for September or is it safe to wait until beginning of August? Also since we are staying on resort for early access I was thinking about skipping the fast lane on Friday to save money and spend Friday getting the lay of the land but purchasing the fast lane for Saturday and Sunday when crowd's are heavier. Hopefully two days of fast lane and early access will be enough..
  9. Thanks for all the help so far in planning my trip tp CP on 2nd September. I have booked Breakers hotel for 4 nights 3 days and feeling good about it. I know about the main headline coasters but I don't know much about the other non coaster stuff that might be worth experiencing. I would like to try Windseeker because I have never been on this ride type before but if there are some other 'must do' attractions then I would be interested to know about them. They will be second to the main coaster line up but I'm not totally going by my coaster count and would happily trade a ride on something like cedar creek mine train for something else if time becomes tight.
  10. Ok thank you for that tip Mike I was also looking at the meal offer of 2 x meals and a drink for $35. Is this something that's worth getting? we would probably eat at least lunch in the resort and maybe dinner as well so it seems like a no brainer but I don't know how the prices compare with on park or if there is some kind of negative to weigh up.
  11. Hi everyone. I'm looking forward to my first road trip from the UK in August to visit SFGA but I noticed that there does not appear to be any tickets available to purchase after May. We are intending to visit on the 1st September so I was wondering when the tickets might go on sale? Also mildly anxious that they might be sold out for the season already? Hopefully not! I would also like to know what level of fast lane I would need to get round al all the coasters in one day? We are hopefully arriving on a quiet day but not sure if it's worth the risk of a bronze upgrade or not.
  12. Ok if that's the going rate then so be it. I was comparing the cost against the other parks we are going to like SFGA and Hershey but maybe BGW has a lot more to offer or in a different league that justifies the extra ticket price.
  13. Hi all. I'm travelling from the UK and visiting HP for the first time on 30th August. I am in two minds if I should purchase the fast pass or if I will not need it? I know that we can preview the night before but it will have been a long day of travelling from KD so we may not be up for it. I don't know how long the lines usually get up to for the main rides so any input would be appreciated.
  14. I'm visiting BGW on 28th August for the first time and travelling from the UK. Compared to the other places we are visiting the ticket prices seem way over the top at around $89. Is there a cheaper place to buy tickets? And is the extra fast pass thing going to be essential to make it round in one day?
  15. @mike24sx yeah I would love to do the all season pass but the combined cost of the two passes would be double the cost of the whole trip which makes it out of reach for us. I do plan on doing another CP trip starting from carowinds at some point so I think we will have to make the best of a bad situation knowing it's not the only time we visit. I have settled on hotel breakers as like people have mentioned, going back to the hotel in the afternoon is appealing. I don't know how much the place thins out in the evening but I assume it's easier to get on stuff at 8-9pm? When do the lines close?
  16. Ok we are staying on park hotel. Looking at the options we can get ride and refresh which I assume includes park entry and drinks refill. Just comparing that against room only and a platinum season pass also for KD. We might go for the disabled room to save some extra $. Also interested to know if the express hotel gives free parking at the park.
  17. Hmm I didn't factor in labor Day. I haven't booked the internal flights yet so could do the weekend prior if it would make a massive difference. I haven't booked accommodation yet but will checkout the early access options
  18. I recently asked about Traveling to CP from the UK for the first time and after seeking advice I decided the best option was to wait for next year to visit..... ...but I couldn't wait and went ahead and booked a trip for this year instead... Soo. We are traveling for the first time to CP and will have three days there from the 3rd September. We are interested mostly in the rollercoasters but will sample the other attractions if we have time. I'd like to know the best plan of attack for the time that we have there. Sorry, this must have been asked a million times. Maybe there is a good reference guide for what to do when somewhere but any pointers are appreciated.
  19. The choice is between end of August this year or flexible date next year. Based on the advice so far it looks like we will have to wait for next year. We don't normally wait for more than an hour to ride something so it sounds like fast track is going to be essential for our trip. I'm not sure when schools are out in the US but I'm guessing if I catch the beginning of the season. Say in June, I should be OK?
  20. Okay I could swap out dorney for knoebals. After researching I gather that wait times at CP are typically always over an hour? If I purchased some kind of fast pass for next year instead of this year, does this add enough value to do CP in one day or are two days still advised with a pass? I assume wait times reduce but there is a 15 minute wait at the station? Sorry for the noob questions. Finding it hard to find the info on fast pass options since they are not currently available.
  21. Thanks for your information. I had not considered Dorney but I think I could work it into our schedule. My aim was to get it all within 10 days but keep the trip at a saunter rather than a race. I could manage without rest days but my partner needs the down time and if this trip goes well I'm more likely to persuade for another trip to take in Dollywood, KI, HW, CD etc. This method is also the cheapest I could make it to avoid an extra $400 on a one way rental and without one way flights which would also add up. Our schedule currently looks like this.. 26th fly to philly 27th drive near KD 28th KD 29th Busch 30th drive back philly 31st hershey 1st rest 2nd SFGA 3rd fly CP 4th go CP 5th go CP 6th fly home via philly
  22. Hi everybody. I wonder if you can help me out with a trip plan to include Cedar Point. I've been given the green light from my other half to bring forward our USA trip from June next year to August this year but before I commit to it, I want to make sure that its actually in my interest to bring things forward in light of Covid. Im travelling from the UK and the plan is to fly to Philadelphia and take a road trip to include Hershey, SFGA, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens before flying from Philadelphia to Cleveland to spend two days at Cedar Point. This will be my first time to any of these parks and its a long way to travel so I wanted to use fast pass wherever possible to ensure a smooth day at each park. I just realised that CP are not offering any fast track tickets currently due to Covid and with the capacity limitations, I wonder if we would have a better value holiday by postponing to next year or if its still possible to get the best out of each park in the current circumstances? As a separate question, I wonder when is a good time to avoid the crowds. If we went this year then we would likely be looking at the last weekend of operation but for next year we could come at a more flexible time to avoid the big crowds.
