KC is weather in December is too unpredictable
-
will be open in September after WOF and probably SFSTL close?
-
Six Flags St. Louis' Entertainment department is not part of IATSE or any other union. So they still have the go ahead to have shows.
no live entertainment at any CF parks that opened
-
I'm guessing FF chances are pretty slim since it seems that all of the Halloween events are being cancelled industry wide. Maybe ok on HITP, although the roaming singers will probably have to be put on a stage instead of singing in people's faces
I can tell you that I don't think they have made a final decision yet because employees have only been asked to post their availability through the end of September.
However, my prediction is that they will be open throughout the fall but without FF. HITP I still have no idea.
At least whatever happens we are better off than KC, WOF is shutting down completely after Labor Day.
CF gave up on this year when they extended passes another year

all unionized live entertainment has shut down for the year

it's UCS for horror fans
-
has there been any difference between Fri, Sat, or Sunday crowds?
-
they're still selling flash passes, but is there any need for them with lighter crowds?
-
Hurricane Harbor Has its own capacity limits separate than the dry parks.
I assume that's also at 50%, have they reached it?
-
with so many public pools closed, have they had to limit entry into HH or does the current capacity for the whole park include that?
-
Not surprised by your report of lack of masks in the city.... The other day, Branson had a city meeting to discuss whether or not to have a mandatory mask requirement for the city. The participation/public comments portion was... ridiculous. Some local reporter live-tweeted it and... yeah, again I'm not surprised you saw few masks in-city.
In Branson, they Kansas City is as liberal of New York City, they even think Springfield is liberal

has there been any difference in crowds between Fridays and Saturdays? since HH is included in admission, is their total capacity between the two combined?
-
Jesus Christ... Why don't they just fill up the pool water with whatever COVID sanitizer they're using? Hell, just put it in the drinking fountains, too.
chlorine kills covid, and they don't recommend masks in water
Which is why it's hilarious overkill that they're spraying down the rafts.
mostly for show, temp checks might not keep out anyone asymptomatic

Thanks for posting that. Yikes. I wonder if that sort of crowds will continue during the week. Once it's out that the kids area is closed that may deter a lot of the families with little ones. My son said it was really slow at his rides and I wondered if everyone was at the water park.
was his area any busier after HH closed?

what's open & closed at Hurricane Harbor?
-
how close has it come to the current limited capacity
-
It’s better than nothing. Weird that all the other CF parks are doing the opposite and opening dry only. Maybe this will promote a separate admission gate to the water park in the future.
a few weeks ago, they were offering a $200 bonus for lifeguards at Oceans of Fun

Yeah, but MO is still on the 50 person gathering thing but SFSTL was able to open with the restrictions in place, mostly because it is outdoors I think. Besides if IL is letting zoos open under phase 4 (which they are) then why not amusement parks? Oh well. SFGA would be a tack on to the last day of the road trip so we can make a late decision I guess.
MO has no statewide crowd limits or mask mandate, must be the limit of STL County
-
Given that Illinois "Phase 4," which is scheduled to take effect tomorrow, still limits gatherings to 50 people, I don't see it happening until the state reaches "Phase 5" whenever that may be.
Raging Rivers in Grafton has opened with 50% capacity and no mask requirement, but are water parks considered amusement parks or public pools?
-
^ Considering how dead it was when I was there last Monday, I can see why they decided to do that.
seem to be planning as they go along, no advance notice
-
Been hearing a rumor of waterpark only opening this summer. That would make sense as other water parks have opened but no other amusement parks have
been hearing on other forums CF isn't opening their water parks year besides Schliterbahn, they haven't announced anything other than Cedar Point Shores staying closed though
-
calendar shows them closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays starting next week
