For some reason, I'm getting a retro vibe. Is that intentional?

I'm not a big fan of the pics.  Sort of looks retro.  Sort of looks already worn out.  The windows in the rooms are goofy looking.  Cheaper looking overall than I would have expected.  I bet it's just fine and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here for the right price, but not a big fan of what I've seen.

  2. Park management has discussed their plans a bit with regulars at the park and events.  Nothing is official until it happens, but the plans included moving the burrito place to a new building (nearly done), redo P305 theme, possibly an animal theme, to fit the area, and an International street refurb.  Pizza place will move to the current burrito stand front of park.  New ride and section on the right near Dinos.  Dominator is being repainted with same colors this fall.  Intimidator painting has started.  Racer repaint next year. Sure this is always the case, but current management would like to go year round in the coming years.

Rapterra looks cool.  They have a nice display with the POV running all day at the front and near the ride showing it off to visitors.  Looks really good in that area.

  3. Yesterday, Sunday, was great.  They had everything open and most running 2 trains.  Never really saw any lines.

Haunt was fun.  They do a good job on the houses.  Much better than BGW.  The scare actors were also more personable and interactive, inside houses and in the zones.  Light sprinkles off and on all night probably kept many away.  The park kept everything running.  Small crowd but they stayed open til 11.  We rode a lot more than we normally do now days because everything was a walk on and the ride ops were doing great.  Very leisurely pace with a few meals and we still rode 25-30 rides on the coasters and drop tower.

I'm told Haunt gets fairly crowded as October progresses.  That's good.  It's a solid event.

If their current park development plans pan out, this place is going to be one of the best in the chain.  The new wing coaster looks great.  The park has said the plan is a 200+ coaster in the next couple years on the other side of the park and will not be a B&M.

  4. They need a new show for HHN. Current show isn't all that great and gets worse each year.

Houses are ok this year. I thought Ghostbusters could have been much better. Too short and not much going on in it.

Quiet Place house was great and looked beautiful.

Insidious is also good and goes about scares a bit differently than the others.

Slaughter Cinema was also good. I liked the Candy house, too.

Scare zones....most are not good. Blum is especially awful. Torture Fair was basically the only good one.

That's all that stood out to me thus far.

I'm doing SeaWorld and Busch events this weekend.

I rode it a month or so ago with the OTSRs.  It wasn't nearly as bad as people were saying (because a lot of people are pansies) but it certainly had a few janked-out transitions.  I didn't get any really bad knocks, though.

Same.  Front row seats were better.  Neither were as bad as I anticipated.  I did 5 laps in a row with no problems at one point. I'd like to get on it some more now.

Which park are you speaking about?  It is $100 at Knotts and $350 at Magic Mountain for Prestige Passes All-Park Add Ons with no recent changes.

Sincere apologies.  I'm talking Legacy Six Flags parks.   SFoG, SF Great America, SF Great Adventure, Fiesta Texas etc.  I'm surprised MM is still $350.  That'll be interesting to watch.  Is that the only one with a CF park really close?

  7. At this point, the prestige just seems like such a waste unless you really want to park a little closer and one skip the line each visit.  Another reason is if you have a park like Fiesta that might have exclusive events.  Other parks most likely aren't going to.

These two separate addons, etc are just making me purchase a couple all park gold passes from Canada Wonderland and calling it at day for next year. That's parking and admission and all I really need.
