Haven't been to CGA yet this month for Winterfest (am going this Saturday), so for now... -

Today at work, by accident. When was the last time you watched a Jim Carrey movie? -

Fine by me! I'm just excited that the poll is happening a bit earlier this year -

Bringing back another fun thread. Last time I played in the rain was probably when I was 11 or 12! When was the last time you rode a water slide? -

Sorry for contributing the confusing ideas. I think we will all be happier in the end with the "Favorite SLC" method like in the Mitch Hawker polls -
The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!

Going back to the cloned coaster discussion, my thoughts on this are to break it up by restraints. Obviously, some cloned coasters with different restraints are going to ride better than others. For example, we should have individual rankings for - SLCs with the old restraints - SLCs with the KumbaK restraints - SLCs with the new vest restraints - Boomerangs with Vekoma trains - Boomerangs with Arrow trains - Boomerangs with vest restraints (Carolina Cobra, Speed of Sound, etc.) - Boomerangs with lap bars You know, like that. Thoughts? -

Will the polls of everyone who voted be available for public viewing, such as with the Mitch Hawker polls? (example - http://ushsho.com/processedsteelballots2013.htm) -
Have you ever encountered an animal on any ride?

A squirrel climbed onto the tracks (and quickly climbed off, of course) when I rode Medusa at SFDK once -

Manta at SeaWorld San Diego. What a fun low-to-the-ground coaster, really surprised me how FUN it is! -
While I'm not a fan of the ads like others, seeing Dodonpa and Kumba footage playing was a really nice touch. Honestly, even if they weren't there, I'd be ok with ads because the TPR forums are a great community. Thanks Alveys!

Park Discussion Thread Directory

I know this is a little off topic, but I wasn't sure where else to ask. Where did all the TPR trip reports from Robb and Elissa's visits to parks go? Whenever I go to a park in the park index, it only shows the TPR member trip reports. It makes it a little easier to find some trip reports from Robb and Elissa in the park index, hopefully they'll be back. -
So over Thanksgiving break, me and a few colleagues are spending a few days in SoCal, at Disneyland and in San Diego. Obviously, while I'm at Disneyland I'll be getting all 6 credits and riding some of the biggies like Indiana Jones and Guardians of the Galaxy, and will be visiting SeaWorld, Giant Dipper and maybe Legoland while I'm in San Diego. I must ask though. At the four parks I mentioned (the two in the Disney resort, SWSD, BP) are there any other rides that are worth riding that aren't coasters? Thanks!

Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks
Skittles replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A little shocked no one has mentioned Portillo's yet, outside of Six Flags Great America in the Chicagoland area. One of the best burgers I've ever had (their hot dogs are great too!), kind of like the In-N-Out of Illinois. -

Definitely -California Parks (home parks) Big Hopes -Northwest Parks (next closest region!) -New Hotness 2019 Tour (Canada's Wonderland, Kennywood, Six Flags Great America, Kentucky Kingdom, Dollywood, Carowinds) -Some other trip, maybe? -

RailBlazer... this ride is awesome! -
Sorry for the bump but this is a good topic. I want to see some modern responses. How many RCCA designers does it take to screw a lightbulb? One, assuming he knows how to get out of Rattler's triple helix.

I just recently got back from my Columbus Day Weekend trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. All the coasters were running like I remembered, and Riddler's Revenge was a new credit to me, as it was still being re-painted during my last visit. I still haven't ridden Apocalypse yet, however, because of the construction... maybe the third visit I'll finally get the credit? Anyways, Riddler's Revenge was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised especially after the last couple Stand-Ups I've ridden. I didn't ride Goliath though because of how horrible and slow the operations were. The longest I waited was 75 minutes to get one of the last rides of the night on Tatsu.

Are you going on the ACE trip? The order of dates is the same as theirs. The parks order, I have no idea since I'm not an ACE member.

The Skittles 2018 USA Trip Thread!

Thanks! Oh jeez, I'm really backed up on this. Carowinds!! I thought this was a really pleasant and laid-back theme park. It has a lot of charm, something I wasn't expecting, and everyone is very nice. All the coasters and rides are well run, with fast ride operations, so it was no problem to get every credit in a day. Fury 325 was my second giga coaster, and while I didn't quite like it as much as Intimidator 305, I still found it to be an awesome coaster and my favorite at the park. From the first drop to the final brake run, it goes strong. It has one of the greatest coaster paces ever, the turns provide some real nice laterals and are really fun (not quite i305 laterals obviously, but still) that treble clef dive is a surprisingly good drop even though the first drop is incredible as well, and the second half while trimmed, still has some pretty good floater air. After Carowinds, it was my #9 on my Top 10, but I need to update that with all the new coasters since Carowinds. Afterburn was definitely my second favorite at the park. While I prefer Fury because it's more fun, I think that Afterburn is the more intense coaster. Wow, these inversions have some snap to them! It's smaller, yes, but because of how forceful and fast all the inversions are taken, I really don't care. It's also got one of my favorite coaster finishes ever. That final corkscrew into a Flight Deck-esque powerful helix? AMAZING! Intimidator was my second B&M Hyper, (not counting Fury) and to be honest, I thought Apollo's Chariot kind of disappointing, but Intimidator wasn't even as good as that. Not sure if the trims were on extra hard or not, but I didn't get a whole lot of airtime over any of the hills, and after the ride was over, I kind of said, "that was fun, but do I have to ride that again?" I'm sure when the trims are off it's a lot better, but my rides were fun, nothing more. Beyond that, most of the collection was made up of standard credits. Ricochet was a wild mouse, but I always enjoy those coasters so I got a kick out of it. Woodstock Express was a surprisingly fun family woodie, but it still is a family woodie. I thought it was more fun than the one at Kings Dominion, however! Carolina Goldrusher was a very fun Arrow Mine Train indeed, and after my Carowinds visit I called it my favorite Arrow Mine Train, but that doesn't say much since at the time, the only other Arrow Mine Train I had ridden was Gold Rusher at SFMM Flying Cobras was smoother than the other Boomerangs I've ridden because of the new restraints, as one could guess, but it still has the original brake mechanisms so the braking still felt the same as the others with the original OTSRs, unfortunately. I wish it had the magnetic brakes from Sidewinder at Hershey. Carolina Cyclone proved that the smaller Arrow Loopers are smoother than the bigger ones at Cedar Fair parks, for me at least. This and Demon were okay, but Anaconda is much larger and much, much worse. (in my opinion) Hurler was kind of the same deal as Grizzly at Kings Dominion; it was an ok woodie, but it didn't have much to offer at all. Both seemed pretty lackluster. And yes, I did get the other two kiddie credits, Kiddy Hawk and Wilderness Run. Getting on to the bad rides, I haven't talked about Nighthawk or Vortex yet. Nighthawk wasn't new to me, as I had ridden Stealth way back at CGA, and it's fallen far. What was once a pretty fun ride a decade and a half ago in California is now rattly and uncomfortable and gave me a terrible headache, making me wonder what torture Batwing could have been a few days back. With Vortex I can now say that I've ridden the three oldest B&Ms in existence. (as of now, I've also ridden Batman at SFGAm, so I can say I've ridden the three oldest B&Ms in existence) Vortex showed it's age just as much as Apocalypse. While it didn't look as good, it ran as bad, so I unfortunately can say that I really don't like stand-up coasters at all. Riddler's was still being re-painted the time I went to SFMM, so I have yet to ride a good stand-up coaster. Anyways, I'm not going to make this a photo report anymore. I just want these reports to get out. -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

Looks like a very fun ride! Is the second half after the MCBR not the best thing ever? No, but it's not like that was what B&M was going for. What did everyone expect in that second half? An Aquatrax? In all seriousness, I'm glad to see Cedar Fair parks install more Dive Coasters. I really liked Valravn at Cedar Point! -
Thanks for the response!
