  1. ^ Viper's 35th Anniversary celebration is set to be June 29tb, which is this upcoming Thursday. The park hasn't given any information on what they're doing aside from the fact that on that date they're gonna do something. I'm imagining some sort of speech by Chris Thorpe infront of the ride entrance - similar to Millennium Force's 10th anniversary party at CP, maybe some sales on Viper gear, and perhaps a few snake themed decorations around the viper plaza. I was hoping the last ark would begin to give some info on the event before now, since they have it on the back of the park map. But who knows except the event coordinators what to really expect out of this thing.

    Thanks for the info

  2. It's sad to see the park is losing rides. When I walked past Thunder Rapids it was looking like the boats were missing, can you confirm this? And twister was open on the 26th a belive but no one was really riding it, I got on and it had that cycle where the brakes never engage, and the holding part at the end never happened, it just kind of tilted and then the brakes just gave out!

Edit: I corrected Ned to end because google chromes spellchecker is broken and it autocorrects words that have been spelled right into jibberish so I'll be trying to fix it.

  3. Sunday turned out to be great day, so we left for the park and got our passes. we immediately went to Haymaker, we expected to ride silver bullet but it was closed. We rode Viper and it was running smoothly, we then tried strike-me-up and rolling thunder. we basically rode everything counterclockwise execpt for RoS that's our last ride but it had a decent sized line so we skipped it and left. Yesterday we went to fantasy island. I'll might post pictures.

  4. Though the weather was much nicer today than last weekend, when I dropped by for a visit to Darien Lake today, once again, Ride of Steel was closed all day. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, or if perhaps it's just down for staffing purposes but it's been a bit of a shame to have visited Darien Lake without being able to ride the park's superstar coaster. Here's to hoping Friday will be different...

It seems to be staffing because if it were weather or brakedown they would have ops in the station, then agian it could be a problem and they can't run the ride.
