^ I go through that myself, most times at the Disney parks. And it's all to do with the technology and not much else.
And there's nothing you and I can do about it, when we are in that queue when this happens. Just try to keep in mind,
that you are mere steps away from what you are really happy about....?
Do you mean you get stuck behind people like that or you yourself is the person with the "faulty" ticket?
-
oh and another thing. When waiting in line to scan your tickets and someone just has to have something wrong with their ticket and take an extra 5 minutes to get through. Dont they come prepared before getting to the park? Luckily, though, its easy to get out of that situation at times just go to the faster moving line. I did this at Cedar Point and said to my friend who i was with, that i was gonna switch lines as it was faster. She for some odd reason rudely shuck her head and rolled her eyes because of that. See i am a SUPER impatient person and see well as very very low tolerance for impatient people! So it often doesnt make for a great combo But impatient or not some people do take an unnecessary amount of time...
-
omg! When waiting in lines for rides the the people in front of you are being space cadets, talking to friends,or glued to their phones, and dont MOVE UP when the line is moving! They then leave this big huge empty space when we can simply can be getting closer to the ride. I dont know how many times i seen people do that! There was so many times i wanted to say something to them! The worst offenders of this are those high school girls who think the world revolves around them....yea those types
-
^ Check in the Ask Alvey section. The question is asked (and answered, sort of) there.
oh ok i seen it now thanks for pointing me to that. yea i guess its just randomness! I was like whats donkies got to do with amusement parks?? i guess in a way it does...some amusement parks have petting zoos and zoos that may have donkies
-
oh i know this is very off topic but since i am still kind of new hear can someone please explain the donkey meme? lol.

I would have to say my guilt pleasure ride is one of those old school rock-o-plane rides. my aunt owns a camp lot at a campground in Indiana. Its a Jellystone Park in Plymouth Indiana. Every memorial day weekend this mini redneck carnival is set up in the campground and that often have this very old rock-o-plane. its a lot of fun! depending on how you spin it,it can sometimes more intense then many modern flat rides! however the last time i went on it,it made me very very sick blah! Also those mini Moses drops that are a step above frog hoppers are pretty fun and can pack a little punch as well. of course i think the full sized drop towers are more thrilling but the little tiny ones can still be fun too. Oh and i also enjoy Boomerang coasters and the NYNY coaster at Las Vegas.

Im a little late on this post. anyways im gonna go by most boring coasters as my worst coaster ever. Of course i wont pick a kiddie one because you know they are for kids and of course they will be boring to most adults. I have two. Adventure Express at Kings Island was pretty disappointed. It was super rough and had no real drops at all. Mine train coasters are generally not my favorite to begin with as they kind of bore me,but thats just me. For some reason that coaster gets a lot of love though. The other coaster is that one at Mall Of America, that pepsi one...but i haven't been there since 2000. I was 10 and i even thought then that coaster was lame. It had no drops, loops, cork screws or anything.

Yet the Terms of Service are there, and you should abide by them once they're brought to your attention. That being said, there's far too much "backseat moderating" going on in this thread. Thank you.
As for your question, my favorite park is Tokyo DisneySea. They could add nothing new there for the next decade, and I would visit it every year if I could. That place is spectacular.
My least favorite would have to be Mt. Olympus in the Wisconsin Dells. I've visited that place once and have absolutely no desire to return.
yea i noticed Mt Olympus gets a lot of hate. even on trip advisory its kind of low. i personally enjoyed it when i went back in 2009 but maybe others had a different experience. i read that the most common problem was being put in very crappy hotels instead of their real main resort hotel. Also that there was to many people and its dirty. When i went there wasnt that many people at all but maybe thats because it was raining. Also we didnt stay in a hotel and went for the day and since it was kind of cold we didnt go on the waterslides sadly but i still had fun on the coasters as well as that big swing ride. I mean Hades was a lot of fun(kind of rough in the tunnels though)and that was even before they changed the track up. Of course its not the most fun part i been to but still was fun.

Make sure to check out the Terms of Service thread pinned at the top of the main forum. There are rules to posting here and poor spelling and grammar is one of them. And thank god for that. Also giant blocks of text are super annoying to read. A learning disability is not an excuse to not create a post using paragraphs.
Also, yes we are making fun. Everyone makes fun of each other here. If you can't take getting ribbed on you're not gonna like it here.
Finally, to answer your original question with a serious answer: fave park - BGW (runner up Hershey), least fave - SFA I guess, even though I don't even hate it that much. I just haven't been to any really crappy parks.
Well id appropriate you not make fun of me. It's really immature. Also its not my fault people cant read simple text.
oh by the way...as i forgot to say....no one actually sits down and reads all of the Terms of Service on anything! online or in real life! People, including me,just skim quickly and hit the little square and move on...come on admit it you've done it too.
-
Least favorite is definitely Giant Block Of Text. Honorable mention going out to Spelling & Grammar Disaster. That place sucks.
yea i dont know what parks your are referencing....sry lol.
This thread keeps getting better....
ok i dont if you are making fun of me or what but if people are gonna make fun of me dont bother posting on my threads then. 1.I have a learning disability 2.this is an internet forum not a school essay...so please people dont be so petty over how i type/write! Also if you are bored with long paragraphs just dont read them then! That simple....that all i have to say.
Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 27 is not your real age. I don't know anyone who's 27 who still gives two sh*ts about learning disabilities and school essays. It just isn't relevant at that age.
No, I don't have a problem with long paragraphs; I've read and enjoyed Alexandre Dumas. Now that guy knew how to write a long paragraph! But the #1 rule of writing anything (and coincidentally the #9 rule of this site) is to make sure your readers can actually read it. That means capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Those things are important.
Look, I've got a disability myself. My son has a disability. I've taught students with disabilities. It doesn't give you a free pass; it just means you need to find a different way to get to the same place as everyone else.
Yes, I was making fun of you, but that was before I had reason to doubt that you're an adult. So I'll say this seriously: You work hard on this and you'll find the way you need to succeed. You just have to learn to write. It's not fair, but people will judge you based on your writing ability. When you write an email at work, your spelling and grammar reflect on the company you work for. So your ability to be hired to a good paying job depends a lot on your ability to write. Use things like Internet forums to practice. The more you write, the better you'll be at writing. It's going to be hard for you--trust me, I do get it--but if you put your mind to it and get help from people who love you, you will eventually do it.
I am an adult...why would i lie about my age? Also are YOU an adult...grown adults dont poke fun of people over petty stuff.
Yes. Yes we do. All the time.
But I guess I've been on this thread long enough to need to actually answer the question posed:
Best park I've ever been to is Disneyland. Worst is Magic Springs, though I will still say that Crystal Falls, their included waterpark, is awesome, and it was the only reason we went.
I honestly dont get the difference between "big block of text" and long paragraphs...so what im not suppose to make long posts? i seen others do it! long paragraphs or "big blocks of text" its all still a lot of words....so yea

i heard it has a very decent roller coaster.
No, it's a piece of sh*t.

favorite is EPCOT and least favorite is King's Island!
Kings Island? really i loved that park! but havent been there since i was 14 in 2004. However the friends i brought with weren't big riders like me so i end up going on to many tame rides because of them which sucked really. I mean i hated in hour in line to ride the Spider! seriously?! I learned from that, that ill never go to a park with people who are scared of many rides again...lol i do want to go back one day and go on their newer coasters. Diamondback looks awesome!
-
Oh I don't knoe there's just so many to choose phrom.
Worst is easy though: Conneaut. Please hurry up and close forever. Honorable mention to Lakemont.
Yea i read some other threads and you mentioned Conneaut a lot. your hatred for it. I never been there so i wouldn't know. Heck i never been to Penn. However i think your hatred for Conneaut Lake matches my hatred for Enchanted Forest indoor "amusement park" in Utica Il! lol There is so many rant comments i left on videos relating to indoor theme parks,SF Great America, etc about that lame place! Even left a Google comment....however i wasnt brave enough to leave one on Yelp or Tripadvisor. It is truely the poor mans Wisconsin Dells! The cabins dont even have Wi-fi and since its in the middle of nowhere cell connection is horrid too...i heard that place has money issues as well and probably wont last long either....but if i had to pick i rather go to Conneaut at least its a real amusement park and i heard it has a very decent roller coaster.

Of all the amusement parks you have been to,if you had to pick, what was your all time favorite and what was your least favorite?? (its ok if you cant just pick only one)
I enjoyed all the parks i been to before and listed them on the "what amusement park have you visited" thread.
Anyways if i had to pick my favorite would be Cedar Point. It was always my dream to go because of the roller coasters. I finally got to go this past Labor Day with a friend. It was awesome! Even the "tamer" coasters were really epic! Now one day i just dream of going to Magic Mountain and Great Adventure!
As the least favorite as far as REAL amusement parks go i dont have any as i enjoyed all my theme park visits. I noticed Mt Olympus seems to be one of the least liked parks for some reason. I personally enjoyed that park when i went in 2009. Hades was awesome and that was before it was rebuilt. I admit its not the best park but it was still a lot of fun. Now ill get back on track! If i had to pick LEAST favorite it was soooo be Enchanted Forest at the resort Grizzly Jacks in Utica Ill. about an hour from Chicago. Its a small indoor waterpark resort with only two major waterslides and was way to small but thats no the worst part....See years ago this resort had an actual indoor amusement park with rides for all ages! It was no Adventuredome or Mall Of America but it still looked epic. I mean an indoor amusement park during the winter time when Great america is closed down and no more carnivals coming into town?? Sounds awesome to me! Well because of the recession we had a few years ago we really couldnt afford to go to places like that. Finally two years later go and i find out the rides were all taken out!! and replaced with a lame romp around playground for tweens! Just a rope course, rock wall, tiny zipline, bounce houses, only a few arcade games with lame prizes...and one of those kiddie trampoline jumps you see at cheap carnivals...i was soooo disappointed! i wanted real rides....and they still managed to call Enchanted Forest an "amusement park" ummm its not an amusement park if its has no rides....your local town carnival is far more fun then that place....i heard that place went from really epic to Poor Mans Wisconsin Dells...

Most Embarrassing Amusement Park Moment
in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Posted
I thought this would be a fun and unique one,but what was one of your most embarrassing moments or experiences you had while at an amusement park? That is if anyone has anything to share.
For me it was back in the summer of 2004 when i was at Indiana Beach for a girl scout trip. We decided to go on the bumper boats. Despite being 14,this was the first time i went on bumper boats. Before even getting on the boats i couldnt help but stop worrying if the boats will automatically go back to the "dock" or will we have to drive them there ourselves.
See I sadly didnt know how to steer them! Instead of actual steering wheels it was those awkward handles. During our cycle i was pretty much getting little to nowhere, barely moving, and just spinning in circles the whole time. I just played it off as just dont go that fast and far in the first place.
When it was time to drive the boats back i realized my worst "nightmare" was true i had to drive it back myself and i was in the middle of the bumper boat pool. So i try to head back but instead of going forward it mostly....just spun....and spun...and spun...it would finally move a little more forward then start a-spinning again and still not close enough to the dock. I started panicing of course. I was almost about to just paddle with my arms...and the ride OP was clearly getting impatient too. She just eventually helped reel me in a little bit and i finally got back to the dock
After all of that the whole groups of people waiting in line started to clap for me in unison which came off as very condescending....i never felt so embarrassed in my life! after i got off the ride i ran off as quick as possible to just get away from that area. Hours later while me and a friend were walking towards the Cornball Express these two guys, two who were in that bumper boat line, again clapped for me and had the biggest smirks on their face...after that i never wanted to ride bumper boats again. Still to this day i dont plan on riding them anytime soon...that put me off them:P Thats the only ride im "scared" to go on...not because the super tame ride is even remotely scary but because of the embarrassment of not being able to operate a simple bumper boat
