I'm totally fine with most every wooden coaster in the world getting either this new 208 RetraK (god, RMC needs to come up with a catchy name for this) or the GCI titan track. A few parks can manage to maintain their woodies properly, but for any park that just can't seem to get a handle on it, I'd much rather enjoy a smooth coaster that's technically a steel coaster than have to pretend to enjoy the "rough and tumble" experience (i.e. pain) of a true wooden coaster.

    Totally agree!

  2. It seems this might be the future of "wooden" coasters!  Old or new from the ground up! If it is smooth and low maintenance, the parks will absolutely want this instead of a traditional wood track.  I agree that Ibox track is more to make an old coaster a totally new different coaster and that RetraK is simply to improve an old rough coaster while bringing down maintenance costs.  But again I could easily see brand new coasters with the Retrak technology!

  3. I think the TRex is still possible.  They just need one buyer.  It might just be me but with all the effects the pandemic has had and still has, combined with the price of steel increasing, I think the main focus is probably concentrating on smaller coasters and coaster refurbishments forthem to be profitable and stay alive.  All parks have lost a lot of money lately and things might not be exactly like they were used to.  So I think RMC has a lot and the right products to offer.  And they are extremely talented at doing what they do!

Theyre out of their minds. Reminds me of the time people with pickup trucks wanted to relocate Geauga Lake's Big Dipper. These people have zero idea how much money its going to cost just to clean up and restore whats left, much less bring back rides. Spoiler alert.... its probably in the 10's of millions. They started a GoFundMe and raised less than $3k. 🤣 All theyre doing is creating false hope with the idiot public who thinks its going to be like flipping a switch.

Totally agree!!  False hope.  Plus the parks and rides are deteriorating.  It's starting to look like SF New Olrleans!

  5. It looks like the new owner will revitalize the whole park and refurbish the beloved rides such as Blue Streak.  Quite frankly it is needed in order to keep the park and the rides (especially Blue Streak) open for years to come and with the pandemic that seems to be far from over, this year is the perfect time to do so.  Next year we will have a nice CLP with a new facelift and uptaded rides and buildings:)

  6. Last time I rode it was  June 2017 and it was running great!  My kids and I loved it!  There was fresh new track in some spots but it seemed there was no new wood on the structure, just the track.  It is a really good coaster.  The layout, tunnel, trains, vintage and abandonned look all make it special, scary and thrilling at the same time!!  I think the other coaster that was kind of like it was the William's Grove Cyclone which I didn't ride:(
