  1. I was also referring to the outdoor Haunts. Last few visits this season and last the amount of scare actors was considerably less then even say 5 years ago. Last season I walked through the Haunt within Camp Snoopy (CarnEvil) and only saw two scare actors. It was disappointing.
  2. I've been more and more let down with Halloweekends as the event continues to grow. In my opinion each year they try to make it "bigger and better" and each season it seems they have more and more issues to properly staff it. I'm not just talking about rides but also the Haunts. A few times last season I went through entire Haunts seeing less then 5 scare actors throughout the entire maze or outdoor section and this was on Saturdays. It just seems to have gotten too big for a seasonal park.
  3. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing an Infinity coaster from Gerstlauer or something from Mack like Blue Fire to replace Vortex.
  4. Noticed the supports are painted to highlight the W in their structure. Red & blue to make it look like WW from certain angles. Nice little touch there Six Flags.
  5. Cedar Point: Mantis... that was fixed Mean Streak... That was fixed too! Corkscrew... One can hope the trend continues! Would love to see this go for maybe a new family coaster like FireChaser Express or maybe even a nice new midway of new flats! Either way I will never ride Corkscrew again. KI: Vortex. Never in my life will I get on this ride again. I'm hoping it's gone in a few years and replaced with a modern steel looper from B&M, Mack, Gerstlauer or even an RMC T-Rex looper.
  6. Sure? If you wanna call it a credit, call it a credit! I love these coasters!
  7. If the weather is moderate to nice I would expect significant crowds on Saturday and Sunday over Labor Day weekend. KI has a huge local season pass base and they tend to show up on weekends and holiday weekends. If it's in your budget I would plan on a Fastlane Plus purchase for at least one day if you plan on spending multiple days.
  8. October Fridays are typically very low crowds BUT it's also limited ride selection. Even some coasters will be closed due to staffing(check the website). If you want to focus on Haunts Friday is your choice. Sunday most if not all rides will be operating but some Haunts will be closed. I guess it depends on if you'd rather experience rides or haunts the most for your October visit. Also, even though Columbus Day weekend Sunday has extended hours, avoid it like the plague unless you plan on Fastlane Plus. Another decision factor is if you have a Platinum Pass and you're renewing you get a free Fastlane Plus that can be used on Friday or Sunday. So more time, plus a free Fastlane Plus make Sunday your day.
  9. As far as flat rides go, these are actually pretty fun. I think all the hate just comes from the fact that Six Flags marketed them as a coaster. If Six Flags never did that, I bet we'd have a much different opinion of them. Also this is a ride you find at a city carnival, not a world class amusement park. So are about 90% of any flat ride you'll find at an amusement park. Almost every flat ride you see has a portable version. What's your point? I'm excited for this new COASTER!
  10. Is it wrong of me to want the 5 people in the center canoe to be likenesses of the Griswalds?
  11. Well... shoot, I'll be going to the park for the first time ever this October while in Texas for a wedding... Why can't people plan their weddings around new rides.
  12. Corkscrew at GL.. my first roller coaster! Even though it scared the poo outta me. Didn't ride a coaster again until Serial Thriller opened and I visited the park with my friends from school. Can't be lame in front of girls! lol Corkscrew was replaced with the Vekoma Boomerang. But from that angle Superman (the Intamin Impulse AKA Steel Venom) would also be visible along that rode. I miss this place...
  13. ^^My parents and nephews were there last Sunday the 9th and it was open. Sometimes rides just have mechanical downtime without any hidden, cryptic meaning.
  14. I really hope this means within the next few years Time Warp and the Vekoma SLC are removed for a B&M Invert or Wing.
  15. Nope, you can renew a platinum from any park to any park... HOWEVER... you are then 'locked' into that park for any extras you buy online for that season. For example, if you want the drink pass, or the funpix pass, you must purchase it from the park you renewed your pass at. So the last two years I had a Canada's Wonderland pass (because they charge the same price in CAD as USD for platinum!) but at the end of last season I renewed as a Cedar Point pass (wanted the free fast lane perk for Cedar Point) and even though it has Wonderland plastered all over the pass, it is actually a Cedar Point pass. The funpix and drink pass were cheaper at Wonderland, but the card is now a Cedar Point pass and I needed to buy extras at the Cedar Point prices. Next year I'll switch back to Wonderland, because I'm sure it will save me a lot of money in the long run (especially with all the new fanciness going in at CP). There was no need to go to the park you renewed at first to process, as both renewals allowed you to add a photo online and you just used your old card. So even though I now had a Cedar Point pass, I still visited Wonderland first as there was nothing to process. Make sense? Yep, but I was purely referring to online renewals. Not at the renewals. A few seasons ago the site had a quirk were you could only renew online on the parks website where the pass was tied. Not sure if that's been corrected or is still a quirk.
  16. ^^ I would say usually a season in advance from park schedules I've seen that have private event days listed.
  17. IF 2018 passes are available for purchase before their move it SHOULD be valid at Point in 2018 as long as it's a Platinum Pass. But the best thing would be to contact CP and make sure. However, renewing may be tricky for 2019, they may have to renew on Knott's site. My friend who lived in Cleveland bought a Platinum Pass one season at Carowinds when we traveled there before Point opened. He then had to renew on Carowinds site the next year, not sure if that quirk in the system has been changed.
  18. I honestly don't know what everyone is talking about here . I've ridden this ride probably twice a visit every visit for the past 15 years and have never felt any of these crazy forces. Typically I don't even hold on and just BS with my friends while we race. To each their own. I have also never seen anyone fall off a horse. Did you ride it in 1969 or early 70's? Nope! Wasn't even born yet! First visit to the park was in 1998. Which is irrelevant to how it runs now. It does not run fast enough to nearly throw people off.

  20. ^^As long as you keep your receipt, yes.
  21. New Mean Streak was being discussed on local morning radio here in Cleveland for a few minutes. The buzz just continues to grow in main stream media here without any announcement.
  22. You do you! lol, I counted Rougarou as a new credit tbh. Who cares how you count your own credits? I'm still in the camp of move it to MiA, converting it along the way. Replace it with a bigger, better, 3 train capacity monster floorless/wing or something from Mack like Helix or Blue Fire.
  23. Also you can usually buy $20 ticket book vouchers for $16 at local Weis super markets which is 20% off in park prices. You just redeem your voucher for the tickets at the park.
  24. Been to the park twice, entered through the main gate and I have had no issues. The sensitivity is pretty low and you're allowed to keep change and keys in your pocket. Pretty much only cellphones or large metal objects seem to set it off. I typically still just throw my keys and phone in the bin and walk through. One unexpected perk is that it does reduce waits at the actual entrance to have your ticket or pass scanned since the line is at the check point. I think the longest I've waited to go through the check point is 5 minutes. Please just don't do what I witnessed at Carowinds and have a group of guys try to skip to the front of security because they were Platinum Pass holders...
  25. Which is funny cause it was originally in a Six Flags park. (Added by Premier in 98, Premier also purchased Six Flags in 98) It was always considered the smoothest SLC even when it was at GL.
