  1. ^ No, this new water park expansion is NOT at all in the Mean Streak area. RMC Streak in 2018 (or possibly 2017 I guess) is still in play!
  2. Your just curious as all of us Absolutely not! I click on any thread of a park I'm interested in, to get the updates in it. However, I came to peace with the fact MiA isn't getting anything, ever, a couple years ago. I haven't thought for a second MiA is getting anything of significance this year (and likely not next year, or the year after, or...)
  3. I think it's hilarious that even when NOTHING is announced for MiA, its thread gets a boost in traffic and posting!
  4. The green B&M is probably going somewhere random, where 99% of us will never ride it... As for KD and Winterfest, what's to say that won't be part of the announcement for KD... along with RMC Hurler!
  5. I think we're going to find out any minute now! (In a different park...)
  6. It's definitely not something I'll be jumping to try out anytime soon... But what else should we expect from the chain which is fanatical about all photos of their coasters in operation depicting people holding on to the restraints, and "following all safety rules and regulations."
  7. I like it! A great addition for the park! I'd actually be pretty happy with one of these at MiA (silly me, even thinking such an absurdity!)
  8. ^^ Dang it Bill! I just read all that after clicking the link, and if I'd have waiting a little longer you would have saved me the effort!
  9. I'm going with this prediction as well!
  10. I meant out of nowhere as in, nobody expected their announcement today. All the focus was on the other Cedar Fair parks making their announcement today! I probably should've made that clear in my original post. Got it! And yes, it did really fly under the radar!
  11. ^^ I'm in agreement with you here! I think the fact this teaser not only says there's more, but they're still having that announcement at Soak City (RIPieces) tonight, all but confirms there's more to this addition!
  12. Great addition! The name is a little rehashed, in typical Cedar Fair fashion... But at least it's not called Patriot Hawk! Also, hard to say this is out of nowhere, as this was discussed en masse for last year's addition. People were just a year off!
  13. I seriously hope you're not referencing my posts, because if so, you have terribly poor reading comprehension, in addition to being another obnoxious naysayer... I am referring to you, lol and the entire thread in general. EVERY goddamn year you guys go awe poor us, poor us were forgotten about.. Then before announcements you're like WE ARE DEF GETTING A COASTER OMG IT'S GOING TO BE THE BEST COASTER IN THE WORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kings Dominion thread on here is like Trump supporters to the world... INSANE! ^ Well, you just confirmed both of my points, so thank you! (Oh, and FWIW, if you actually had decent reading comprehension, you'd know I'm not a KD fanboy, and haven't even been to the park in 14 years!)
  14. I seriously hope you're not referencing my posts, because if so, you have terribly poor reading comprehension, in addition to being another obnoxious naysayer...
  15. The only slide I find thrilling is the family raft slide. But it's only if you ride with a group where you are almost at the max weight allowed. And you'll likely wait at least an hour for it, even on an only moderately crowded day!
  16. Back off! MiA deserves that twisted heap of metal more after all these years! We're willing to split it 50/50 if you're interested. You at least have received a B&M in your park, so I'd say a 70/30 split is more fair! You people should listen to me more often. Especially the people in the KD thread waiting for a B&M hyper that would be vastly inferior to I305 anyway. That thread is one more speculation rumor away from eruption. Even Coasterbill cant shine wisdom on that thread trap When KD announces RMC Hurler on Sunday, all the haters aren't going to be laughing anymore!
  17. ^ Yes, and also to be fair, there were a couple of other issues in that original post you made which the parks definitely don't give a bleep about!
  18. ^ I'll be surprised if anybody says much about Soak City is above average... It is shockingly mediocre. (Aside from the swim up bar... Such a thing is never mediocre!) I like Pink's, but it is overpriced, for what you get. This year, I never miss the Valravn ice cream from the Toft's store! It's insanely good!
  19. ^ I think you could be onto something there as well! It would make sense to announce it at that event, and then announce it to the public after that. And let me clarify my previous point: I am not saying KD definitely is announcing separate from the rest because they're getting something bigger. I'm just saying that is not an unreasonable thought process, and it could very well be at least a part of the reasoning. I guess we'll see in a few days!
  20. Back off! MiA deserves that twisted heap of metal more after all these years!
  21. Knotts soak city announced on their own . . . I knew somebody would try and point that out! It doesn't change what I'm saying one iota though. We also knew what Knott's was doing some time ago, so it wasn't really much of an announcement, only a verification and full reveal.
  22. I think some people are being too quick to dismiss the significance of the different day for KD's announcement... Parks, and the parent company behind those parks, don't just do things randomly, with no real rhyme, reason, or purpose. SIx Flags, for instance, goes with the model that they simply announce all of their parks' additions at the same time. Cedar Fair, on the other hand, has chosen to have each park announce their upcoming attractions separate from each other, at least in terms of the individual announcements. However, the fact that the majority of their parks are announcing their additions on the same day is no mere coincidence, but rather an intentional roll-out strategy. Take, for instance, that KI announced their 2017 addition first, and quite separate from this cluster of announcements today. Then they are going to announce something, no doubt on a smaller scale, today. CP announced the closing of Mean Streak separately, to give it its own weight, and press presence. Now, a bunch of CF parks are announcing together today, including what is anticipated to be a Soak City expansion (read: smaller scale) for CP. All of that to say this... KD is announcing two days later, on their own. It is certainly not unreasonable, nor something to laugh at, or mock, to believe that the separate day for announcing is significant. Now, does it mean that RMC Hurler, or some other coaster addition is coming? It does not, and maybe CF has some other reason for announcing KD on a different day. That being said, it would make sense that if KD is getting a larger addition, a coaster of some sort (which I think almost HAS to be related to Hurler, if it is), they would announce it on a separate day, so it gets more coverage, and notice. This is not bizarre, absurd, or even the thought process of a hopeful coaster enthusiast. This is a well reasoned, and logical thought process, from a business standpoint, and trying to grab as much market notice as possible. I'm not sure why this notion was dismissed and castigated, honestly... What do I think is coming to KD? Well, I've gone on record before as believing RMC is first working with CF here at KD next year. Just a hunch I have, from what I've seen, and what makes sense to me. Could I be wrong? Certainly! Will I be wrong? I guess we'll see in a few days! Also, I think people are reading too much into Snoopy's presence in the teasers so far... Snoopy is, in fact, a sort of mascot for the CF parks, and his name goes SO well with the concept of "snooping", which is what he is doing in all of the teasers. Would it make more sense to have some shadowy (or not-shadowy) park executive or ride operator snooping around, since it's going to be an adult addition, and not a Planet Snoopy addition? I don't think Snoopy doing the snooping has anything to do with whether it's a Planet Snoopy addition or not. Rather, it's simply a fun marketing strategy for hyping this new addition - a new addition that they also felt the need to announce on a separate day from the majority of other parks. Sure, all of this could be coincidence, and wishful thinking on the part of the KD faithful (which doesn't include me, since I haven't been to the park since 14 years ago), but it also could be indicative of this KD addition being more than just your average, run of the mill Flats package, water park addition, or kiddie attraction. It has certainly become the announcement I'm most curious about, simply because of its teasing campaign, and having its own designated day.
  23. Angry Candy - Autolux (Checking them out all night tonight, after Boldikus' recommendation in the other thread!)
  24. I never said they didn't care. I have no doubt that they'll have a ton of 150th anniversary merchandise for sale and probably some cool promotions and events but none of this guarantees a new coaster or major ride. Well, technically, you said parks "don't give a single S***" about them, which could be construed as saying "they dont care", just sayin'... Here is where I come down on this issue... To say parks don't care about Anniversaries, is false. Parks do care, and yes, they market them all the time. However, that does not mean they celebrate them with a major new attraction, which some people seem to expect. So, I would agree with what coasterbill said up there, but not so much with what he said about them not giving a bleep previously! So, it got buried underneath yet another re-hashing of the Anniversary debate, but I posted a pretty long and well thought out look at what the next couple of years may bring in regard to Soak City, RMC Streak, and beyond. I had hoped there might be some discussion on various points I brought up, and people answering my question about their thoughts on where Ripcord may be moved, if indeed it is moved. Or, we can just go over and over the same silly debates and sarcastic rejoinders that we typically do here, and not engage in interesting speculation about the exciting future of this park we enjoy! I know some people belittle speculation, but it's harmless (as long as it's not ridiculous), and compels people to think critically about the park, and is fun for a lot of us. Besides, by the end of the day, a lot of the things I speculated about will either be more known, or at least could be eliminated! Last chance to get in any predictions, before the pieces start to come together!
