Never realized how much nostalgic value KI had to me until I confirmed my trip there this sunday…
My brother and I have FL+, husband hates coasters so he’s just either holding phones or drinking beers (which, of course we’ll join at some point!) but, I’ve not been to the park since probably 2018 so I’m not too sure what to expect as far as changes to what’s best to hit first, etc. Also fingers crossed Wishbone Grill is open… see above 🫠 TIA!

I think I’ve finally convinced my husband to go to KI with me (he hates coasters), but his stipulation is turkey legs. Yknow, like the big giant ones you get at renaissance festivals.
I know the park has them around winterfest, but are they a year round thing? We’re looking at going as soon as next weekend if they do because he’s that dedicated to this task, plus I’ve not been since Firehawk’s last year. Any pointers in the right area even if not in the park but nearby would be appreciated!

First visit to the park this past Friday after being teased by RCT2 since 2003; generally was very impressed with the park, but was sad to see X2 closed due to inclement weather, which I’m assuming was high wind. That just hurt because I’d seen it testing as I pulled up
Tatsu still being repainted hurt too cuz all I could do was stare at it, but I just have a reason to go back a second time really soon. I managed to do all other major coasters between 10:30 am and 3:00 pm, which was far quicker than expected especially with mostly 1-train ops.
P.s. Superman is back to running the forward side, backwards was closed when I visited but I didn’t bother asking why or about Lex Luthor.

The Beast is going up the lift agonizingly slow today, but hanging off the lift in the front seat was an unreal experience. If only that was at night...

Look for something new, to take the place of The Enterprise, next year. Was told to get our last rides in yesterday, because it's replacement is already on it's way. 2019 will be the next big attraction, around 220 feet.
Ed said this? It sucks if it's true because I have yet to ride enterprise and I was looking forward to it next season. It seems odd that they'd remove it, as it seems like one of their most popular flats. As for 2019, I'm hoping for a coaster that tall. If not a coaster, a tall drop tower would be nice although they already have Fear Fall so it wouldn't make much sense.
Grona Lund has an Intamin Skyjump, Intamin 2nd gen drop tower and an S&S Tower. A second drop tower doesn’t sounds too impossible but in all seriousness I could see KK getting a Zamperla Endeavor to provide a new take on a classic ride. As far as the 220 ft attraction, did Ed say this himself? Definitely didn’t see a hyper coaster coming but that’d definitely draw in crowds.

Anyone think about the what ifs with Son of Beast? If they didn't tear it down, you think it could had been renovated like Texas Giant and many other wooden coasters?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know by the time SOB was torn down, the coaster's wood was already rotting in some places. I believe RCCA used a subpar quality wood, ontop of Paramount dropping RCCA and finishing the coaster themselves. Nobody would have wanted anything to do with the ride by the second time it closed.

We're headed to the park next Saturday, with FL+ in hand. I've never been to this park on a weekend, outside of the Haunt. Are FL+ lines still pretty much walk-on, during Saturdays?
You should have no problem with lines if you have FL+. Even if the park is super busy I've noticed not many people buy FL/FL+

The last time I was at Kings Island was in 1984. There are only a couple rides that are still in operation from that time and the rest will be new to me. The ride selection looks pretty good. Not as good as Cedar Point, but decent. Highly looking forward to it.
Honestly despite having a better ride lineup than KI, I prefer KI over CP. KI to me has a much better atmosphere around the entire park, wheras CP felt a bit more cluttered/cramped. I guess that's a sacrifice you've gotta make if you're striving to have the most coasters at one park though Both are fantastic parks nonetheless.

If this park were slated for another large coaster in the next few years, where would it go? It didn't appear the park had much room for expansion.
I've heard that KK/the fair board owns the land/parking lot area behind Deep Water Dive, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. If they were to remove the amphitheater from behind T3 that would free up a bit more space, but I'm not gonna count on them removing it.

I noticed the same day of the Koaster Kids event at the park, the Greezed Lightnin' trains were being hauled away. Any idea what's happening to them? Scrapyard or refurbishment for another schwarzkopf coaster somewhere?

The last time I rode the hang 'n bang boomerang, my restraint opened up a notch going into the cobra roll and I about had a heart attack. Don't plan on riding again anytime soon.

^ I believe I rode second to back and it was still terrible.
It's terrible really wherever you sit. I have to agree the back is the best seat, although still terrible.

Just left the park and I have to say, The Bat was running absolutely mental today. Got the two most intense rides I've ever had on the ride today.

Wouldn't the nearby airport interfere with adding a hyper?
That's exactly why I'm not counting on a B&M hyper for the park. The height restrictions through the park fluctuate, not to mention LR gives better air than any B&M hyper I've ridden...

Hey guys, I'm planning a trip to Carowinds or Kings Dominion for Friday, June 2, but am in a bit of a situation.
Both parks have been on my bucket list for a while but I'm torn. My boyfriend and I only haveenough time to make it out to one of the parks and we don't know which to go to. My question is which park would be the best for us to go to? We plan on getting FL+, but other than that both parks equally draw us in which doesn't make this decision any easier. Any suggestions for which park to choose would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet either, but I'm really curious as to what's planned for the land clearing behind Banshee. Supposedly people were spotted surveying the old SOB station recently.

http://Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits.com/cedar-fair-new-coasters-2018/
Hopefully this turns out to be true, as I'd like to see smaller CF parks get some love.
There's a very good chance that this is true. In the conference call they specifically said that one of the coaster types would be brand new and a chicken and biscuit coaster would definitely fit the bill. It's great to see Cedar Fair on the cutting edge of innovation. I'm also happy they seem to partnering with Bojangles'. While it's certainty not my favorite southern chicken restaurant, this partnership would allow the coaster to be open on Sundays and that's a major win in my book.
Would the MCBR include a drive-thru window where you can buy chicken? If so, I'm sold.
I'd be all for this if the food lines weren't already atrocious

Any word on the 2018/19 additions yet? The anticipation is killer

So assuming KI won't be getting one of the 4 coasters Cedar Fair has said some of the parks would get, I would personally love to see a Gerstlauer Sky Roller on the old Flight Commander pad. Maybe even name it Flight Commander?
I missed seeing where Cedar Fair said that the parks will be getting 4 more coasters. Would you mind giving me a link to it? Sounds like great news. Thanks.

Looks like I'll be at the park a lot this summer seeing as I got a job in rides not sure what ride yet but either way I'm really excited. Keep a look out for me throughout the season

Tivoli Gardens posted a video on their youtube channel where two girls took ice cream cones on their air race ride. Pretty funny to watch it fly everywhere lol

I'm really starting to think this is gonna be a doped up version of Joker's wave turn

I’m planning on going Sunday 8/27 while I’m in the Dallas area for work. I do plan on getting flash pass to make sure I can hit everything major, though I’ve never used a flash pass & only Cedar Fair’s fast lane. Any pointers on the park, i.e. what to do first?
