  1. I follow a local FB Blog page called Frontier City Thrills here in Oklahoma that connects with staff at the park. According to a post on that page one of the admins of the page talked with somebody in maintenance. They said there was already set in place an attraction for 2019 at the old Eruption sight Before Six Flag took over management. So if those plans will still be in place for 2020 that will be the question I highly doubt it but we know Six Flags will have their own plans for the park. I hope its true the park needs a good tower ride to replace Eruption. Drop tower or a Skyscreamer. I say they need to get a Skyscreamer there is not any in the state and locals here would love it the views they would get from a Skyscreamer. They would get awesome views of downtown and the nearby lake. They could advertise it as the tallest ride in Oklahoma.
  2. I also emailed the park about the new rides. My reply was that Wild Kitty is being removed for the new coaster "Frankie's Mini Mine train". Which is one of 3 brand new rides from Zamperla. The coaster being installed in Wild Kitty's area is a Zamperla Family Gravity Coaster model. Holiday in the Park has expanded the season with it now starting Black Friday with weekend only operations. then on the 18th the park is open everyday till january 6th. In that time frame two days the park will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So I guess you can see Frontier City received a new roller coaster. LOL I'm glad the are refreshing an area that has not been touched since 1997.
  3. Great news! I Found out tonight watching a live stream tonight about Fiesta Texas detailed plans. During the question and answer a guest aske if they can use their current Six Flags Pass/Membership at the new parks like Splashtown Houston and Frontier City in Oklahoma. They said Yes starting today the 2018 Six Flag passes/memberships can be used at the new parks.
  4. The kids area needed to be updated badly and I'm glad the park is doing something adding family rides that parents can actually ride with their Children is a nice touch. Right now the only attractions in the kids area that parents can enjoy together. Is Wild Kitty and The Play structure. All the current kid rides in the area are too small for an adult. So good for them it will help build pass and memberships. Which in return Frontier City can have a larger attraction added in 2020.
  5. Looking forward to see what Frontier City posts for their new attraction tomorrow. Not expecting much from them since the park was just taken over earlier this summer. Will See I did go to their website and they now added Thanksgiving weekend to their "A Frontier Christmas"
  6. Yes I agree it's a pretty good kids area. Some of the play structures are showing their age. The foam balls definitely need to be swapped out for new foam balls they are badly faded and weathered. Stuff on the pay gym needs to be updated so that it works. The rides in the kids area they have are based only for little kids to ride. Parents cannot ride with their child. So if they add a few rides parents can do with their child that would be great right now the only thing a parent can ride with their child is the Wild Kitty coaster. So if they revamp the section and a add few more rides a parent can ride. That would be good. If they can bring in some of the Looney Tunes characters for a meet and great area that would be helpful. My opinion doing this will impress your local General Public. Enthusiast well that won't impress them they will pass on this park But if the park does other things to I can see it working out for them in the long run. Thursday around the corner so we will see what happens at the park. Going to be interesting to see what Six Flags does taking back over the keys too this park. Also curious too what White Water Bay gets they kind of get skipped every other year for a new attraction. I can't wait too see what happens this Thursday.
  7. Frontier City has started teasing and by couple of their recent last posts on their FB page. I'm guessing it has to do with their kids area. Which needs some attention. That area has not had anything added too it since the petting zoo in 2004 and a coaster switch with Elitch Gardens in 2013 of the same model kiddie coaster. The area was constructed in 1998. So a Refresh of that area is long long overdue. So I would be OK with an area of the park that needs to be fixed up for the young thrill seekers. I'm Sad being an enthusiast I wanted something major. But Themeparks are not just for enthusiasts. They have to keep in mind all their guests. A General Public's point of view shows that the park is taking care of their park. What do you expect; Did you expect them to add something major after only being manged by Six Flags for a few months. Most of the money would have to be spent on the upcoming seasonal events and switching the park computer programs and all that capital expenditures over to a Six Flags park. That is not cheap So part of me was hoping for a major attraction but in reality know that was far fetched in such little time. Maybe next year they GO BIG!!
  8. Myself If I take the walk of shame. Then that coaster becomes a goal coaster for me. I will work hard to lose weight to ride my goal coaster. Right now that goal coaster is Time Traveler and Outlaw Run. I know what I have to do lose and be able to ride those coasters. 45 lbs. So by next year my goal is to lose that much weight. I'm going to buy a season pass since I spent the money to ride those coaster. Then I will have more ambition to reach my goal. I don't like too waste money. I had to take the walk of shame once on Titan at Six Flags Over Texas. New Texas Giant was the second coaster but it had a test seat. the It took me a couple of trips before I sat in that test seat at NTG entrance before I got the Green light. Titan took a few extra trips before I was able to ride that coaster. The ride operator of Titan gave me a good tip. Make sure nothing is in your back pockets and that when you sit down sit straight up with your back end tightly against the back of the seat. It worked for me. I was able to ride. It took a few more trips before I lost enough that I didn't feel sandwiched into the restraint. You know what reaching those goals it was nice to be able to sit down and ride my goal coaster. My new Goal coasters are Time Traveler and Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City.
  9. Frontier City has been working on construction of Fright Fest one of the new scare zones you can tell like it's some type of Zombie refuge camp. There is a look out tower and takes up a pretty good chunk of Wildcats Infield. They use the defunct and removed Eruption queue line and Ride area. Also they constructed a very large Photo op area called Shelter 28. I expect live scare actors will be in the back ground. There is a new game a Zombie Paintball game in the games section. Just LIke a Six Flags par would do in the weeks before and leading up too Fright Fest turn some type of fountain, or water in the park a blood red color. This week it was the pond between Gunslinger and Sidewinder. Fright Fest 2018 Fright Fest 2018 Fright Fest 2018 Fright Fest 2018 Fright Fest 2018
  10. Darien Lake is no longer owned by CNL they sold it too EPR out of Kansas City. EPR is a large entertainment company that owns Top Golf, Plus they are the Main Financial backers for the Schlitterbahn parks, as well as franchising quite a few AMC theaters. Their Collection of Theme parks include Darien Lake, Frontier City, Magic Springs, and Wild Waves theme park. Majority of their parks are leased too Premier Parks. Of course 5 of the parks that were recently sold the lease and management rights to Six Flags.
  11. Here in Oklahoma at Frontier City the parking was $9 dollars at the start of the season. Then it jumped too $15 dollars in July. This past Friday it increased to $20 dollars. I emailed Six Flags corporate to find out if their passes for the new parks will be available during the annual sale. I received a response that Six Flag Gold Level Pass and membership will be available during the big Labor Day sale. That later on you can upgrade too the upper tier pass/memberships after the 1st of the year. With that being said raising the price for parking just before the big sale indicates too me will be a price point to help drive those season pass and memberships sales.
  12. I learned yesterday that Frontier City will be adding a new event this season "OKtoberfest" . Not sure the exact dates or what it will entail. I did look up when it had it last that was when Six Flags last owned the park back in 2006. The last time it was held at the park it started the last two weekends of September and overlapped into the first weekend of Fright Fest. It was a German Food and Beer Festival like you expect out of Oktoberfest, With German music dancing performances. German vendors set up in Thunder Bird Plaza. I'm looking to get more details that sounds interesting something fun to add too the park during the downtime weekends before Fright Fest.
  13. While I have my doubts SF will be 'flagging' Frontier City, they will most certainly be re-branding DL back to a Six Flags park. Frontier City is my home park and already learned that it will not be Flagged a Six Flags Park. It will be labeled like the company did with The Great Escape and La Ronde under the park name Frontier City will have the line a "A Six Flags Themepark" The rest of the parks they acquired the water parks I'm curious if they will be re-branded with a new name. The Wet 'N' Wild title was from the new Premier Parks. So I wonder if those parks will become Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. White Water Bay will it be labeled Six Flags White Water Bay like the water park at Fiesta Texas?
  14. I’ve been digging around and I live near one of the parks that was recently acquired in the May 23rd transaction. from what I learned that the new Parks will have much needed park improvements Throughout the park and smaller type of attractions most likely be added for the 2019 season. I have good resources and from what I learned not too expect anything major but do expect something next season just like what Six Flags stated at the end of their press release from last season that they plan to add new “Attracrions” to all their parks each and every year. I’m OK with park upgrades and refreshes as long as something bigger is added in 2020.
  15. I emailed Six Flags corporate about how the season pass will be handled and what will be offered when they have their annual sale during the Labor Day weekend. I was told that they plan to offer the Gold Plus membership as would the Gold Plus Season Pass during the sale. If I go the route of getting a membership during the sale and I want too upgrade my membership I would have to wait till January to make the upgrade to the Diamond or Diamond Elite level. They said that it will take time too transfer and update the pass/membership systems that it is expected to fully be done by the end of the season.
  16. I was at the park yesterday and the park closed one of their up-charge attractions. Their Go-Cart attraction. During the weekends and events days the Go Cart Tracks is busy with decent amount of riders. During the week you will hardly see riders driving around the track. They boarded up the front entrance. Could they end up using the removed attraction for a scare zone for Fright fest? or Could there be a new attraction to take it's place? The area is plenty large enough for a small coaster. Like a S&S El Loco or jokingly, since it is now a Six Flag's park. Which Boomerang coaster will pop up in this location? LOL
  17. Either Frontier City is planning to expand the scare zone in the old eruption site area inside Wildcats infield or they are going to add a new ride in the area of the old Eruption. The park has started adding a perimeter fence around the old ride area and back into the infield. Curious to see what happens with this area in the future. Also if you have the season pass plan to the park. They have added A lot of new options too the dining plan like adding snack options. The BBQ items are now on the meal plan.
  18. Hey Darien Lake fans I live here in OKC as you know Frontier City like Darien Lake has been acquired by Six Flags once again. My question have you noticed the prices going up at Darien Lake. Frontier City raised their parking prices from $9 dollars to $15 dollars and White Water bay went from $7 to too $15 dollars. I've been told there will be another $5 dollar increase in August. Also today I noticed all the menu screens were turned off and food signs with prices were all removed I asked a park employee about the sign removals. They said the prices on concession will rise this week. So have you noticed changes like that at Darien Lake?
  19. Six Flags has made a recent change to the price It cost for parking at Frontier City. The recent increase went from $9 to $15. I asked a representive about the price increase they said it is expected to increase more during Fright Fest. It is expected too rise to $20 before the end of the season to be inline with the rest of the Six Flag’s Parks. Photo I took while waiting in line too park.
  20. probably. You know wishful thinking when it's your home park.
  21. Today Frontier City posted about Fright Fest... I noticed something different yes I know Six Flags will be operating the parks. I noticed Instead of their normal logo they have used in the past it was the Six Flags Fright Fest logo on the posts. I know in the press release about the sale they stated the parks will operate as independent parks that you would not see any Six Flag changes till next season. So does this mean Frontier City will most likely be included in the upcoming national announcement day of new attractions? Will the other newly acquired parks will also be included in the national announcement?
  22. I snapped some photos when I went to view Chief Quanah Parker's Star house. The owner with enough money I'm sure will let you explore the defunct amusement park. The photos I took were the ones he allowed me to take from where you park your vehicle to see the collection of historic houses. The amusement park is not on his tour. I know somebody paid him a a lot of money a few years back to be able to get closer shots of the former rides. You get some great shots of the roller coaster and some interesting buildings with unique stories to them. The owner you can tell he used to love the park. The tours are free of the house he just asks for a donation to help maintain the parking area and the area where the houses are located. I paid him $40 dollars. hoping to get close shots to the amusement park. He let me take photos from the parking area. The total tour of the houses is 45 minutes. That is including the drive time it takes about 12 minutes to travel too the back of the property another 12 minutes to exit the property. You follow him in and out he has guard dogs that roam the property. Plus livestock with Bulls that roam freely. It is for his protection and yours that you stay with him.
  23. They have quite a few of these ziplines across the country. There is another one like it that fly's over Turner Falls in Southern OK.
