  1. I'm lucky to have Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg as my two home parks!

    Kings Dominion:

    1. Intiminator 305

    2. Dominator

    3. Flight of Fear

    4. Volcano: The Blast Coaster

    5. Rebel Yell

    6. Grizzly

    7. Backlot Stunt Coaster

    8. Avalanche

    9. Anaconda

    10. Woodstalk Express (Scooby Doo)

    11. Richochet

    12. Great Pumpkin Coaster (Taxi Jam)

    Busch Gardens Williamsburg:

    1. Apollo's Chariot

    2. Verbolten

    3. Alpengeist

    4. Griffon

    5. Loch Ness Monster

    6. Grover's Alpine Express

*(Tempesto and InvadR will change my rankings.)

  2. Burn Hurler to the ground!

What'd Hurler ever do to you?

It's true, some rides do unpleasant things to people. However, some here seem to become blinded to any attributes of a ride and just give up. If you're on a park-hopping marathon, that's often the way to go, but if you're stuck mostly going to your local park I can't see giving up that easily.

Fact is though, hurler even at its most vicious never hurt me much, while 4 other rides at the park have. Grizzly and Rebel Yell were terrible in 2008; I actually swore off RY for 2 months before coming back and learning what to do. I'll give 'em one thing this year though: they've been racing Rebel Yell every day, all day from what I've seen. It really is twice the coaster when they get it just right.

I've seen only one side operating on Rebel Yell a couple times this year, but they've definitely raced both sides much more often lately! However, I'm really disappointed that they haven't been lighting up the classic chasing lights, which returned for KD's 40th anniversary in 2014!

  3. Rode Flight of Fear today and the launch failed, so our train was stuck at ground level right before the first hill/cobra roll. The ride operators and maintenance crew pushed our train backwards into the station for us to exit.

They let us stay in front of the line once we exited, so I hopped back on and it worked fine. I had to wait for it to test a few cycles.

  4. I'm sure that's not even close to being true but honestly nobody would care if it was. None of the wood coasters at Kings Dominion are standouts but that is clearly the worst of the three. Grizzly is the only one we ever bother riding.

Rebel Yell is one of the best coasters at Kings Dominion!

It's smooth, fun, and full of airtime hills. It's amazing how it races and lines up with the midway of

    Candy Apple Grove!

  5. I think Delirium is a perfect addition for Kings Dominion! I really enjoyed MaxAir when I rode it at Cedar Point and have always thought it would be amazing if Kings Dominion ever added a Pendulum - style ride in Candy Apple Grove. I doubted it would ever actually happen, considering MaxAir was installed a decade ago and is the most recent ride of its type at a major amusement park. As much as I would love a new coaster for 2016 at Kings Dominion, not many parks have Pendulums and I think it's a real treat for Kings Dominion to receive one!

  6. I hope KD's next coaster is an vekoma inverted jr coaster!

Something the FAMILY can enjoy . . .

Rather have a B&M. Heck, Shockwave is the only thing worse than a Vekoma.

    Ok . . . here you go!

Seriously, KD had like what? 3 true family coasters?

Iv'e always wondered why Parmount never did a major kid's area expansion or added a Jr. Vekoma at Kings Dominion, such as

Rugrats Runaway Raptor at Kings Island and Carowinds or Silver Streak at Canada's Wonderland.

Did Parmount ever plan this, however sold out to Cedar Fair before they ever made way to the project?

Nickelodeon Universe at Kings Island, Nickelodeon Central at Carowinds, and Kidzville at Canada's Wonderland were all

decent renovations, however Kidzville at Kings Dominion was never updated with new rides after its opening and

Nickelodeon Central remained with only 3 attractions.

(Scooby Doo and The Haunted Mansion being the only exception).

  8. Going tomorrow for the first time, and I am wondering if I need to purchase a fluffy, fluffy bunny filled with medicine and goo to store my backpack or can I put them in the bins before the station?

Kings Dominion has bins for free use on all their major coasters and most of their flat rides. They let you bring your items with you on the top of the Eiffel Tower, bring them with you on the Americana ferris wheel gondolas, place them on the side of the Bad Apple, and place them on the seats of the antique cars as you ride Blue Ridge Tollway. There's no reason for lockers, unless you plan on going to Soak City and maybe for White Water Canyon.
